I just harvested seed from a cross I made of a red-flowered clumping SS Echinopsis hybrid (forget which one exactly, but one of the parents was T. andagalensis) with Trichocereus arboricola. I have some seed available for trade and for people who will definitely grow them out.

My boss found this cactus from a local dude, he was told that it tends to grow prostrate once it gets larger. I was a bit confused by the geometric nature of the growth but now believe I know what it is. Would like to hear y'alls opinions.

Hi, Im new here, didn't know where to begin so I thought I would start with a few photos of my plants. I'm mostly a cacti and succulent collector, and my selection is pretty modest but I have plenty of cuttings to strike this Spring and I'm trying out germinating from seed for the first time. I'm from WA so we have a hard time getting any decent plants here, so Im really happy to join SAB and hope to connect with others in our beautiful nanny state. Anyways, heres the ethnobotanical portion of my garden, as a way of introduction. The pachanoi family, I dont know what varieties they are, they have been picked up at markets and random gumtree opportunities. A 54cm spineless scopulicola, with a bit of sunburn from the previous owner. A somewhat etoliated bridgesii I bought from a long time member here who says he doesnt really use the forums much any more. Urban Tribes sourced, grown from cutting, almost 2 years old. Two baby TBMs Cuttings for spring rooting, this is a fat spined scopulicola, its really thick like 12-15cm across depending on the section, I have a few of these from moving a big plant that broke in transport. The roots and stump are buried in the garden. Another piece of that fat scopulicola More fat scopulicola. And more.... Ive even sold a few pieces, theres just so many. Psych0o bridgesii cutting, very pretty clone. Eileen bridgesii clone, apparantly the mother plant randomly goes spineless or monstrose all the time, and it looks like it was doing the spineless thing here before this cutting. Gnosis cuzcoensis clone, Im not to familiar with this clone, dont know much about it but it looks great and those spines are pretty mean. (just found out its a cuzco, thanks SAB.) I guess it is obvious looking at it now from the knobbly shape 'S' form between areoles. The rest of my garden is ornamental stuff, mostly cacti/succulents, pretty modest compared to the some of the stuff ive seen, but i hope it keeps getting bigger and more diverse. Anyways, glad to be here, thanks for having me, from WA.

Who wants to swap Banisteriopsis Caapi for Trichocereus cuttings?
glod posted a topic in Seed & Plant Swaps
Hello, I'm looking to find someone with banisteriopsis caapi, preferably more than four years old, who is willing to swap some for some cuttings. I have pscho0, yowie, PC, strandard Bridgesii and TBM, and lots of it. -
Hello fellow saber's! I was just thinking it would be a good idea to have a pinned thread about germination and care for cacti seedlings until they are Semi-mature/mature. At the moment i have a question also to start off. I planted heaps of cacti seeds into some takeaway containers and most of them all germinated there was all sorts of cacti. but i think i may have left them to long eaither in to dark conditions beause they were quiet elongated or because they got to dry... as they all died i had them in pure river sand. so how long should i keep them in the containers next time, how often should i water them and what lighting conditions do they need throughout their childhood (if you can call it that)?

The ongoing controversy of bunnings occasionally selling cacti such as T. Peruvianus and T. Pachanoi has been reported by a number of members on these forums, elsewhere on the internet and within some social networks I'm aware of. Would proof that Bunnings sells legally questionable cacti within Australia put a spanner in the works for future cases where individuals were being accused of possessing the same species? If so, and if it is is deemed an appropriate thing to do? I propose evidence of the availability of T. Peruvianus and T. Pachanoi be collated in this thread for future use of any individual/s facing unreasonable persecution for their gardening interests. If you have photographic evidence of said species being sold in Bunnings, please post them here along with the date and state where the photos were taken. Additionally if you know someone (who isn't you) that has purchased one of these cacti, please post a photograph of the receipt and the cacti together (cash receipts only or receipts where any personally identifiable information is obscured). I look forward to hearing your opinions on the matter and some substantiation of the numerous claims that have been thrown around over the years.

Big shout out to everyone here! Long time lurker, first time poster. This forum rocks big time! Quick question. I've been wondering for a long time if the TBM Clone B (Long phallic form) exists in Australia? I don't mean Clone A (Short clumping form) which has become elongated due to etiolation, but rather the form that will continue growing in inermis state without terminating. Thanks, big love and gratitude to you all!

Hello, I have a whole bunch of different Trichocereus up for sale. There's bridgesii, pachanoi, peruvianus, bridgesii semi monstrose, bridgesii psycho0 and probably a lot more (not a 100% on the diffrent clones). Mostly selling cuttings but also have some in pots and would also be willing to dig up some of the pachanoi's. Prices start at $1 a cm but will sell for a lot less if you buy in bulk. I'm happy to post (at your cost) or deliver wihtin Melbourne if you're looking for larger quantities. Let me know if you're interested.
