Yeah, cutting their heads off is harsh, but temper it with the thought that you're giving them bionic legs... Unless you fuck it up, in which case they'll shrivel and die. Lol.

Gotta check my seed collection but i have thousands of seedlings and should get seeds from them at one point or another. Will let people here know when i have some. Its a great great grafting stock.

Some things to consider: If you choose a cold hardy cactus as grafting stock, the ability of the Loph to withstand cold will be improved greatly. Generally, i recommend Trichocereus Spachianus and Trichocereus Candicans because they tolerate low freezing temperatures if kept dry. San Pedro tolerates low frost as well. Soil should be almost purely mineralistic because humous poses a constant risk for infections. Lophophora flowers better and is hardier if you create the same conditions as in nature. Means colder nights and drought periods over a dark winter. You can successfully grow Lophs inside with artifical light and heating whole year round but im no friend of it because it oftenly creates weak plants. And i dont mean this in a "potency" way...i just mean not as strong as in nature. There are people who are really good at it and i dont really have a problem with them doing it because there are countless roads that lead to rome but its just not for me. Most experienced cactus growers try to mimique growth conditions in habitats if plants are difficult. Its programmed in their genes, the same way an icebear isnt really built to be in the mohave desert. Over time, he would probably adapt somehow and might even be able to get bigger and stronger as in its natural hunting ground at a certain point but that doesnt necessarily mean that he would be healthier as well. Growing plants is an art. If you are good at what your doing, you will get good results no matter what. So just try what is best for your growing style. Everyone has his own personal flaws and cultivation problems and you´ll need to find the method that avoids your most important sticking points. If its indoor growing over winter, then so be it.

Way back in 1988 we squatted a house on the Angel road Edmonton. The previous owner had died in the house. The house was owned by a bank & was schedualed for a compulsory purchase & demolition as part ov a road widening scheme. It was an eerie place, all the old guys furniture & belongings were still there, even his war issue gas mask. The living room was wall papered w/a design that looked like blocks ov stone so it was like a dungeon. The wierd thing was that at night on the upstairs landing there was a sound like a shopping trolly being wheeled up & down the corridor. We made a tape recording ov the sound & to add to the weirdness the sound only recorded on the left channel ov the stereo recording, but it was definitly not there on the right. One guy who stayed there woke up early one morning & swears he had the ghostly figure ov a woman holding him pinned to the bed, he said he struggled but could not get free & eventually she disappated. He moved out that day. The only weird thing that happened to me, living in the ground floor back room was one time, after making love to my girlfriend, i'd rolled a joint & we were both sitting naked smoking, when i saw through the window a police sargent vaulting over the back fence. i shit myself thinking we were being raided & called for another housemate to answer the back door which said copper was now pounding on. Luckily said copper was pursuing a suspect involved in a stabbing who might have gone through our garden. He went through our house to get back to the main road & ignored the stench ov hashish. Another time when i had 13 dope plants on the go there was a knock on the door & 2 plain clothes cops flashed their badges. My knees went to jelly & i was on the verge ov saying "it's a fair cop" when they announced they were from the homicide squad investigating the machete murder across the road. Surely they'd never seen anyone so happy about a machete murder. no i couldn't help them. could they have my name please? w/all the stress/relief fucked if i could remember it for a few seconds. & that's the weirdest thing have you ever forgotten your own name? (when you're 100% sober/straight)

Hi Frank, I was kind of trolling actually, I think bikes are great and there should be more of them, and that public transport should be made a top priority for cities that want to survive the oil crash. No, the fact is the cyclist jumped the queue at the lights several times, thus creating traffic mayhem, at this time of day the cars are quite quick (when it is busier, though, the bike would have been much quicker for sure). I've never hears of a bike line before, it sounds like a really stupid road rule that should be rescinded immediately is that a Melbourne thing?

It's worth noting that I wasn't in any way suggesting we should be politically correct. My contention is that if we are to have any sort of meaningful ethical theory, then it must be self-consistent. I think the response here would have been very different if someone posted here laughing about the reported rape of a woman. It's this discrepancy that bothers me, because it is based on false gender stereotypes and a severe misunderstanding of the power dynamic in interpersonal relationships between the sexes. It's okay to think nothing is sacred. It's okay to make jokes about whatever you like. It's okay to speak your mind. What I don't think is okay, is singling out a race, gender, or other group of people based on irrelevant attributes. Incidentally, last time I checked, rape was considered by psychologists to be about power and not about sexual desire. It is defined by the expression of that power using sex as a weapon, but the consensus seems to be that it is not fundamentally about sex. Many male rapists, in fact, do not achieve an erection during the attack. I'm sure many date rape cases begin with a desire for sex, but it is the anger and frustration caused by the refusal of sex, and not the sexual urge itself, that then leads people to rape. It is revenge, hatred, humiliation. It has little, if anything, to do with feeling a need for sexual release.

Well that's a different thing altogether. It's quite possible that the whole story is made up anyway. I never claimed non-rape is immoral. I'd certainly be okay with a man not raping a woman or vice versa. The point is that rapists aren't playing by the rules. How many men here would risk their lives to disarm a woman with a weapon? And how many think that they should have to do so to avoid being raped? You clearly don't believe that every man on the planet can defend himself against an attack from every woman on the planet, so I don't really know what your point is. I can certainly entertain the possibility that men can, on average, fend off an attack by a woman more successfully than a woman can a man, but that doesn't mean that women don't rape men, and it also doesn't mean that a woman isn't just as culpable for her intent as a man is. There are also other societal factors involved. Sure, you might be able to fend off a woman who is trying to harm you, but when she goes to the police covered in bruises and you tell them you had to fight her off because she was trying to rape you, how is that going to be taken? It's a no-win situation for men who are in this predicament. You keep coming back to the questioning of the actually feasability of rape by a woman against a man. Well, the article claims that the man was raped. So for arguments sake, lets just assume that some feeble woman was actually able to overcome the might of a man and subdue him. It is what comes next that people actually find funny about the story. What people are laughing at is the notion of a woman actually raping a man, not the feasability of this. We have to acknowledge that rape is not about sex. It is not about love. It is a violent crime and should be condemned under any circumstances.

I love the sun! I try to spend most of the day in full light. lol, after spending a few months up here in the tropical sun I regularly get people mistaking me for a black fella, even with my bright blue eyes and golden blonde hair. I think soaking up the rays of the sun has extremely effective antidepressant effects and is also very important for melatonin production. Although, I can’t say it’s ever helped me reach the realm, or anything close to it.

I don't like this thread, but the other one has gone all quiet, so I'll post here. I know I said I'd make a decision very quickly, but even though i have decided to let him stay this comes with several caveats. First and foremost as psylo pointed out is the line that needs to be drawn and the line that appears most important to several people is whether cam is now honest about the big issue - is the cancer is real? Cam has promised to furnish proof to me privately and I assume most will trust my judgement on this. I am not putting any time limit on this other than the end of the months, but if cam wants this to settle down then the sooner he eliminates these issues the faster it will go away. The other truth issues such as various girlfriends with broken legs, dramatic drives that may end in his disappearance, and assorted other attention seeking dramas might be annoying and might be a sign of a much bigger problem, but they are not something I'd boot him for. I am sure plenty of other members have exaggerated details or fabricated lies to get attention one way or another, so let's not be too judgemental. The contradictions have been made public and anyone who cares can read about them [and yes whitewind and amz, I can confirm the details psylo listed are correct] and it will be up to each individual to decide if they are comfortable with socialising with him. I also think chili has summed things up pretty well and maybe SOME of these things should be put into a trade rep thread sometime down the track . I am in no hurry to get to the bottom of all this and I want to make sure that I get it right. I am disappointed that only cam's detractors are discussing facts while his supporters claim 'there is more to the story' without actually adding anything more. The lies and contradictions are pretty straight forward. A good start would be for cam to go through psylo's posts and answer the questions the way he had promsied he would. Or maybe his supporters could start doing that if they ACTUALLY know any of the answers [which I doubt they do]. One things is for sure, ALL of these things will end up being discussed until they are sorted. If they are lies then now is a good time to draw another line. As for other accounts etc, I don't just use IPs to prevent them. We have some pretty sophisticated options for preventing trolls to come back now. PS: As for using force, I think that's a little disproportionate in this case. Mind you, a few years ago some guy used these forums with my personal recommendation and trust to scam a few hundred bucks for books he was going to import and supply to members. After a few months of fuck around when it became obvious we had been scammed, as a matter of principle I flew down to melbourne to pay the guy a visit and 'collected'. It probably cost me more in travel expenses, but I do not believe in letting scammers get away with it [when it is about legitimate trades] and whether it gets ugly or not is up to them. I reckon I am doing them a favour cos if they are successful, the next guy they scam might just do a lot worse.

I love the insights people have and the perspectives that i have heard in the past. Its a shame fear/incrimination is whats stopping story telling, possible learning and perspective shifts. On one hand you may not understand someones story or perspective but on the other, it could flick a switch in your soul. Maybe if substance was ommited? And only experience was relayed? Erowid seems to be more of a what to expect from x amount of y substance. Personally Im only interested in the experience. I suppose i should start and see how the moderators deem it. Setting:Sunny day with a cooling breeze. Experience:Exhausted from climbing to the top of a nearby hill with my crazy dog, i sat on a large rock overlooking the city. Moments later multi-coloured light started to gradually expand from nearby tree's. My mind calmed and i felt a warming of the point between my eyes on my forehead. I looked to my dog who was also gazing at me with a silly grin. No light came from him which puzzled me. I looked to the nearest tree, a white gum i think. Its bark had become translucent and i watched as what i could only describe as energy or blood flowed under its bark up through the trunk into its limbs. Casting my gaze back to the city i noticed a tree that had recently been burnt and looked completely dead, it also had no light expanding from it. Then i noticed a part of the white gum had a dead branch which had become a snake infinitely spiraling. As all this was happening, i hate to use the term, but i had an overwhelming sense of gulp. Oneness! as i looked over the city, I had thoughts of everything being my kingdom. But not in a "im the king of the castle" way, more-so being part of the planet and universe. I hope this story does no break any rules or cause any animosity. I also hope other people are able to recall experiences and share them. much love, Bean

I've seen a few weird things in my time, but strangely one of the weirdest things that springs to mind are the 'toons by John Kricfalusi which I watched as a kid. Spumco stuff like Ren & Stimpy and The Ripping Friends was 9 kinds of f*cked up. I mean, just... I don't even.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaUznYWtpJo

i'm guessing you don't mean actual evidence, as in, scientific evidence. maybe evidence in the form of an article in nexus magazine. i don't mean to be rude, as far as i am aware, practically nothing is known about dmt production in the human body.

Good talk. Yep shamans got purpose, new dabblers get high It's all nonsense to me anyway- difference, distinction.. self/other.. when the shroom opens the intersection to superspace or lucy links mind to metaframe or cactus brings the loving guidance of the ancestors I realize its all just bullshit. It makes me wanna get real practical- to have such arbitrary, fluff filled illusion pose as profound awakening. When really, the profundity just is. We just are. Here and now. And its fkn rad. If im gonna play in the sand, im at least gonna make a mad ass sandcastle. As a catalyst it feels to me like the allie is helping to produce a different quality vibration in a slightly different space. The same 'space' exists whenever I trip- its one I can visit even now when you think about tripping, and its what flashbacks are made of. thing is, I kind of want the end to be the means. I want the psychedelic space/mansion of rooms to be very lucidly available.
