  1. In a society where the government relies on facial recognition for law enforcement (and other even less salutory activities), how long do you reckon the right to dress as you please will last? If this tech becomes widely used, then covering your face with a burqa, or bandana, or facepaint, or scruffy hair, becomes not only socially-unacceptable but downright suspicious potential-criminal type behaviour (remember that cops only need "reasonable suspicion" to detain & search you). I sometimes wear face-covering garments, for various reasons, and it is interesting to watch peoples' reactions to that - there is some curiosity, but an awful lot of hostility & fear. I would not like to see those prejudices given any more government support.

  2. Day 3: some difficulty getting to sleep last night, but again, super vivid dreams. These ones had meaning to me. I committed serious bodily harm on my nemesis. Clearly I have let this fester too long (6+ years). I think the only course of action is forgiveness, but it might take some work on my part to be able to move past this chapter. Might need a ceremony or ritual of sorts. Same dose today, again, almost frenzied energy levels. I crashed around 3pm though, and really felt spent, like I could barely keep my head up. Today was a very stressful day, I hate audits, and I have another one coming next week. Feeling good now. I dont drink a lot of coffee, I have a double shot each morning and I havent cut that out this week. I suspect the caapi is interacting with the coffee and causing the speedy feeling, so I might miss the coffee tomorrow and see if there is a big difference. Thats a big step for me, no coffee. It's not something I am looking to give up long term, but while I am experimenting, I might as well see what happens.

  4. Get a cool haircut: Or maybe some new glasses: Maybe take out some sort of super-restrictive copyright on the use of your own image? Or, you know, write to your MP and get a bunch of other people to do the same. I'd probably still get the glasses through, just to be on the safe side.

  5. your sentence was a bit dodgy mate just sayin' broadly speaking, i don't like the surveillance state path that developed nations are heading down where you are getting scanned every time you go somewhere, filmed every street you turn down, data from your smartphone and transactions handed over to the government etc. its just more government power (and expenditure) from my POV. nothing good comes from big government. its a simple argument but it spares all the nitty gritty which nobody is interested in anyway. big government, more taxation, more power, more artificial market, greater power to subdue population, greater desire to hold onto that power and gain more. we've long since passed the point where additional governing benefits society and we're moving further into it's being detrimental. i'm not against using new technology to apprehend criminals but we know the abuse of power will happen and we should probably look into how closely our definition of 'criminal' is synonymous with 'bad'.

  6. Yeah its used now, its not future tech. solar powered drones are taught the gait of a target, its actually a lot harder to alter your gait than wearing one shoe or tacks or something like that, apparently some targets are already onto this and have surgery to alter bone lengths. there was a tender kicking around a couple of years ago for a laser thats small and light enough to mount on a solar powered drone. the idea behind that was so it never had to land even for ammunition. imagine that! just like terminator days. Teach a drone a targets gait then it scours the earth, potentially forever, until it finds them. then onto the next one. its actually not even legal as a human has to always have the final call. but the big guys dont really worry about that so much This isnt tin foil hat stuff either, as much as it sounds it

  7. People dont realize coffees effect till they try to give it up. We always tell people not to drink it when coming to circle. That causes more problems than we were trying to avoid. As everybody has a bloody withdrawal headache for the session. ........exactly what we were trying to avoid. And it effects how much they can dose and "submit" to the journey. Yes the vine will potentiate the coffee, its a fine line to reduce your intake and avoid the withdrawal headache.

  8. You're probably right man, but I hear more and more stories of old spinsters turning full vagetarian simply for the companionship later on in life. Maybe once you dry up, not being lonely is more important than who/what you were attracted to. I find the body types/shapes/ethnicities I am attracted to change as I get older, gender no but literally everything else does. Spending some years with a fat chick makes me now revolted by them where as I found them insatiable at one stage.... Take the plunge homies:

  9. Humans are adaptable... I'll give you. However, I'm not sure being gay is a choice. If it is... I'd have to ask when you made the choice to be attracted to whatever sex your attracted to. Now, I will totally give you that acts are choices, but who you are attracted to... I don't see that as a choice.

  10. I really feel old ways of thinking can't solve current or future problems. At best they can only postpone. I feel most if not everything cannot be solved and implemented unless the change in conciousness takes place. This is in all levels of society. But even this change is being held back by the current model. But it yes all this technology is a double edged sword. Problem is we don't hold the handle.

  12. Seed pods are starting to appear on our plantation trees and I have bags on the way so I can save a bloody tonne of seed. I will start off with 10 lots, but I have no doubt there will be enough to do many more mailouts. Thread will be updated when seed are ready to go into a big red box with auspost written on it. It will be a giveaway, but if anyone feels generous enough to want to send some tricho seeds in return - I will be more than happy to accept Post to AUS only. And go!

  15. This is only part of the story. Many great varieties have been born, which produce well in cool weather, confined spaces, that both flower quickly and all at once. However old school tropical sativa's can still hold their own when it comes to THC. Trich breeders can learn a lot from the industry. In the early days a lot of breeders where just breeding to sell seed or for the prestige of the cannabis cup. High THC was the buzz word, all the other great cannibinoids where all but ignored. Back when I was at uni I remember some of my instructors getting excited becauce several of the Pharma companies were offering big money to any one that could develop a commercial plant with high CBD. THC and CBD are proportional, high levels of one means low levels of the other. The industry had bred the CBD out of modern cannibis, despite the fact that CBD is the very substance that prevents psychosis in heavy, long term users. Breeders, in their greed, had literaly driven the industry crazy, not to mention nearly destroying a priceless resource. This time we where lucky. There are still several wild strains in places like the Himalaya. Pavarti is pretty much 50/50 with some individuals being much higher in one or the other. Sadly the wild plants are disappering. Each year you need to travel further and further up the valley to find large stands. One day they will be gone. This is what makes breeders and growers so important, that is so long as they don't forget what it is that makes these plants special in the first place.

  17. Good on you, Glaukus. You're definitely on the right track, I reckon. This year has been mine to break the lifetime hold my demons had on me. The mushy was my saviour, but I've done some ceremonial work with San P and Mother Aya as well. I'm loving the work I'm doing with the Shroom, though. Looking forward to hearing your progress. Life is so much more beautiful when you get the big black dog out of it.

  18. the progressive nature of humanity means though, facial recognition wont be the end of it. Already the military uses the gait (the way a person moves and walks) to identify people as its a lot harder to conceal. wont be long before it will be our dna identifying us instantly.

  24. Those stock Pereskiopsis of yours are looking fiercely healthy. I'm not sure how you could fail with such nice stock plants. From what I can tell, your seedlings were not just one or two weeks old. Please correct me if I am wrong. That cling wrap works great for older seedlings and can be used for much younger seedlings by those who are adept, I prefer to use parafilm though myself when grafting seedlings under 2 weeks or I simply go without any wrap altogether. All in all though, I am very impressed with your grafting skills. Those who can't do critique. Those who do... well you do very well.

  25. A bit of vine never hurt anyone. You have chosen the right medicine to have at the center of a plan to bring about some positive changes in your life. Yes its chemistry may improve the symptoms of depression, I hope they will. But its a vibrational medicine, allow it to change your vibration to align with the new pathways you desire. Look for signways to the path, generally hiding in plain sight, in everyday life, allow the vine to illuminate them. You will be rewarded by "paying attention",not only to how you are physically feeling, but to opportunities to "join the dots". You have commenced an "act of will" and stated publicly your intention. You need to see this thru now to show the vine you seriously require its help. Stopping will turn the process into a procrastination, and have the opposite effect, making plans impotent. giving the energy working against your interests power. Magic 101 basically, but worth a mention, when working with a magic potion. You have good friends, and are part of a great community. You have wisely chosen the best hobby in gardening, and have great skills. Life can be anything you want, leave the old story, and step into a new one. There are plenty of great chapters to write. Best regards brother.

  26. http://www.nnettle.com/news/2945-corey-feldman-named-hollywood-elite-pedophiles-in-1993-police-covered-it-up- remember the michael jackson episode in 93? "" Feldman has been kept silent due to the statute of limitations laws in the United States, meaning should he name names, his abusers wouldn't face criminal charges, yet, he would most likely face legal repercussions for exposing the identities of powerful child rapists. Now, it has emerged that the Stand by Me star DID give the names of key players in an elite Hollywood pedophilia network to police, who not only refused to act but also covered up the information. The former child actor told police in 1993, during the Michael Jackson investigations into sexual abuse, that the pop star didn't abuse him, and instead, gave the names of respected movie moguls who had raped him and his friends as children. ""

  29. I was watching those Strain Hunter guys on youtube. They went to Pakistan where cannabis originates from. All they were looking for was people's crops of weed rather than wild stands of the plant. I was so disappointed it seemed like they just wanted to get stoned etc that's fine but they totally ignored the wild stuff. Don't they realise what they missed out on. Who cares if you have to smoke 4 times as much to get stoned. Getting stoned sux. I hope people don't go that way with cacti breeding, they'll end up getting trichos banned!

  37. Remember how botanika used to talk about a redheaded race existing at all these different locations? Have yall heard about these mummified remains found in new zealand? I asked a kiwi mate about them. He thinks the research is gonna be kept under wraps for many years as part of some agreement/assuagement between maoris and the grubbymint. i cant confirm but thought it worth mentioning even though its more about early human than pre human.

  42. From another point of view completely, I don't see what all the fuss is about truthfully - I do not love or go crazy over Trichocereus and I do own quite a few crosses which most people will never have access to obtaining seed or cuts of. However having said that I know they're mostly tough (from cold), easy to grow (grow in dirt just fine), grow fast (compared to other sorts e.g Eulychnia & Lophocereus) but I personally do not see what the big deal is. My bookface account is a member of a page within an Australian tricho page and day after day post after post of the same mundane boring PC or hybrid which is not so great (to me anyway) and people eye them off like gold such as this 'landfill' cut.. for $100 + you can buy lovely plants such as Pilosocereus Magnificanus, Lophocereus Schotti Monstrose, Pilosocereus Bradeii, Carnigea Gigantia, Stenocereus stellatus etc. etc. for half the cost or less.. No big deal......... *End of rant* Agreeing with the top post however, I have noticed with other columnar cacti the prices are decreasing as availability is becoming more readily accessible as more collectors and growers acquire cuts. A good example of this is the Cereus Forbesii Spiralis, which is starting to circulate among people in the know and prices are steadily dropping (not talking eBay here). A point I like to make to friends and people as I have been mentored by an elder collector who is an expert with Cacti and Succulents - collect the original's such as Robert Fields specimens, these have actual history and worth dating back to the 1920's or true species from South America, Chile etc grow them from seed and enjoy them, plenty of online trusted vendors to acquire seed of lovely plants from. Albeit I must admit Zelly's pink/orange flowering specimens are in a league of their own! Fantastic stuff, truly. Hopefully with the widespread growing, people will be able to acquire the bigger stuff a lot easier and cheaper as I don't know a single person who does not like a large Terscheckii or big old San Pedro.

  43. For close to a decade I only grew PC, 1 bag of bridgesii seed, and 1 unknown peruvianus clone. Since getting out of school and landing a job I've been buying tons of seeds and clones. I already figured the market will be completely saturated in the future. But I'm in it for the love of growing cactus. I hope and belive I will be able to retire early from 'plastic purgatory' and just sell cactus and other plants. Will I become a millionaire? Seriously doubt it. That's not my goal. I'm just a dude that wants to grow cactus(as well as all plants), provide for myself and future wife while not going to work at a place that is terrible for the enviroment, and of course turn people on to the life and love of cactus to where anyone can afford it. I figure all the seeds that I produce some day ill be selling and sowing. Hopefully I can leave behind a legandry forest of cactus. That's really my end goal. Cactus forest. I think I'll see it someday, I'm 27 The price some of these clones are going for is nuts. I feel like I have quite a bit of extra $ to spend on hobbies but man $400 for an OGUN, $200 for landfill, $150+ for some BBG, etc. Is crazy. I found my OGUN for a fraction of that and traded some Kratom for landfill.
