They call armpit rooting "The Chicken Wing" in Staya... Nice move that one! Hey if you can urinate with an erection, then performing a piss-enema on your loved one is generally an all round winner in my circles. Give it a go.

Dontcha hate it when you go bush for two nights and set your cats up at home with the best of all possible worlds, and they repay by finding the most inventive place to take a shit and you spend an hour treasure hunting for the source of that stench. Dchiw you've been sleeping in the bush for two nights with nary a mosquito bite and you get home and take one step in your front yard in suburbia and your feet are assaulted immediately by legions of fleas.

the annual march of the mosquitos. I know they play an important role in pollenisation and shit, but when they wake me up night after night with trying to get blood out of my earhole to raise a family, cos it's too hot to close the window but too poor for fly screening the fuk'n the things....parasite conundrum.... bill gates, get yer shit together already......however, being woken from my dreams four times in one night with the "bzzzzzzzz" does actually verge on lucid dreaming, or, allow me a few moments of dream respite/contemplation to briefly analyse what my subconscious is trying to tell me while i find and kill my personal bzzzzzer, and then resuming the dream state...like the intermission at the movies, several times over, interesting learning state but i'd prefer a decent night's sleep. you fucking malaria spawning, disease transmitting, bite welting, motherfuckers Fuck Off...ah, feel better already.....

I have been meaning to take some pics of this, and today seems like a great day to update this thread. Happy Birthday, Sir Jeans!! One of your babies is flowering for me on a couple of columns this year. I am SUPER stoked about this, as it has genetics that deserve to be spread. I have 2 large plants I don't cut, (and some smaller ones I'll cut if needed). I have wanted these 2 big ones to produce flowers, and the one in the pot has now done so! It's much scrappier looking and slower to grow than it's clone I have in the ground, which pumps out massive linear growth on all 8 of it's columns each year, but no signs of flowers on that one. And a comparison of the one flowering in the pot, and the much larger one in the ground. So it won't happen this year, but this is one step towards possibly being to make Jeans X Eileen and vice versa, at some stage. This year the crosses will be something else.

When a kamikaze myna bird flies head first at your car and gets stuck between the AC condenser and the grille and then you have to pull half the front end off to get the bastard out because the dog is trying to dig it out. It's the second time it's happened, the last time it was a pigeon. So far this car has been hit by a wallaby, a dog and about 8 birds, I'm starting to wonder if animals can't see silver.

This prolly won't help much but IMO they are some kinda hybrid, and you won't really be able to tell until they are planted out in the sun and growing tough. Very nice looking plants though, and look like you've done a good job raising them.

I've been hunting for a use for dihydromyricetin - stopped being interested in it after quitting drinking. Until now, I'm re-using it at the moment. Recently, The Versatile Effects of Dihydromyricetin in Health was published. The preparation of Ampelopsis as a tea is sometimes referred to as Vine tea. Traditional Chinese Medicine has utilised Ampelopsis as a medicinal herb for many centuries. The Moyeam grows in Zhangjiajie ethnic enclaves, and is considered to be the god's gift by the Tujia minority, best known as the "Tujia God tea". Dihydromyricetin (DHM) is a kind of flavonoid natural product that has been reported to display multiple pharmacological effects. Dihydromyricetin has been demonstrated to show antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antimicrobial, cell death-mediating, and lipid and glucose metabolism-regulatory activities. DHM exerts a more rapid antidepressant-like effect than does a typical antidepressant, in association with enhancement of BDNF expression and inhibition of neuroinflammation, being superior to venlafaxine [1]. It is traditionally used for treatment of alcohol hangovers. It has been demonstrated that dihydromyricetin may exhibit the protective effects against alcohol intoxication and alcohol tolerance. The molecular mechanism might be associated with competitively binding of dihydromyricetin to BZ sites on GABAARs [2]. DHM exerts antidiabetic effects without causing excessive body weight gain via inhibition of PPARγ phosphorylation. DHM might be a useful drug for use in type 2 diabetes insulin resistance therapy [3] Dihydromyricetin may reduce Aβ peptide production and restore gephyrin levels, GABAergic transmission, and functional synapses, leading to improvement of clinical symptoms in Alzheimer's disease. It is a potent neuroprotective agent for DA neurons by modulating the Akt/GSK-3β pathway and may be useful in Parkinson's disease [4] It is a potent natural NF-κB inhibitor and likely a useful therapeutic agent for inflammatory diseases While dihydromyricetin exhibits health-benefiting activities with minimum adverse effects, DHM has the potential to cause pharmacokinetic drug interactions with other co-administered drugs metabolized by CYP3A4, CYP2E1 and CYP2D6. Further clinical studies are needed to evaluate the significance of this interaction.

The last few days I'd been hearing this tinkly hi-speed tune every time there was a lull in the background city noise - sort of like a manic carillon - which I eventually decided must be the ringtone of a phone left behind by one of the builders who are working on the flat next door. After two days of that jangling I was cursing the thin walls and wondering why the damn thing hadn't run out of battery yet. That should've been my first clue. Then at work today, in a different suburb, there were some rare quiet spells where I could still hear it. So: don't cha hate it when that annoying song you've been hearing turns out to be some bizarre new kind of tinnitus coming from inside your own brain? I can't hear it without imagining some meth'd-up monk shouting "Allegro, allegro!" as he whips the carillonneurs....in the jingle-jangle morning I'll come following you, you bastard.

If thats what it takes EG, lol. I have access to as much ice as I want and am willing to put the pc pach through its passes, next winter. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Stillman, yes the reason some cacti dont flower in some tropical regions is because they dont receive a similar cold and dark period in winter. Just take a look at the climate in the andes and try to mimique it. Temperatures there can get substantially cold, even down to short nightfrosts of -5 to +5 degree celsius. Its not a co-incidence most Trich´s are able to withstand frost to minus 7 degrees and some maybe even a bit more for short periods of time. I guess you´ll need to rubb your cacti with some icecubes.
