I just finnished this painting and cleaned my brushes, sat down with my phone and saw this competition. I call it "decapitated we rule these realms", oil acrylic and tempera on wood panel.

Go look at Craigslist (there are apps that simplify it). I have a morbid fascination with weird humans and sometimes I get on my Craigslist app and see what people are up to, haha. Hey mate, thanks for posting. The whole campaign started pretty well and we still have lots of time to reach the goal, but it´s a little bit early to tell if we´ll make it. For now we´ll only print the books sold through the campaign. If we make it I´ll print some additional books and I´ll definitely do a giveaway with one. ;)

Recently it was brought to my attention that links from my former website Largely Accurate Information Media are being used for exposing people to malware and a virus. I stopped using several websites a couple of years or so ago, that being one of them. Apparently it is now owned by someone who is using it to deliver malware. The titles that are affected: Notes on the Genus Desmodium San Pedro book (with and without Pachanoi or Pachanot) Pachanoi or Pachanot Cactus Chemsitry By Species Cactus Chemsitry By Species Light Cactus Alkaloids Some other succulents I uploaded an earlier copy of Some other succulents and also Notes on the Genus Desmodium from prior to the addition of internal links to other publications or articles of mine. That was not possible for the others so all of those have been revisited and the links either removed to else replaced with something current. This was noted on their front cover to make it easier to recognize the replacement files. All of these are now at troutsnotes.com replacing the compromised copies bearing the same names. If you have one of those earlier copies they are safe as long as you do not click on a link to the LAIM site or follow the suggestions that pop up but a much safer idea is to just delete all of those and obtain new copies. I also uploaded a copy to DropBox where a person can take a look at them prior to deciding whether to downloading them. Did a trade today with a forum member, very generous bloke Some sort of crest Loph 'Jourdaniana' Some bridgesii 'Psycho0' Macrogonus 'Capel' And onto other stuff from my yard; Datura metel. This was sent over as a tiny little seedling about 6 weeks ago. Pretty happy with the 4 of them now This bit of "PC" started going funny back in late November. I have noticed 1 more bit of "PC" is now starting to do it and also an unknown tricho bit. I can't be sure if the 2 PC bits were the same bit before I cut them. The unknown tricho came from @Psiphi a few years ago. All have been fed high nitrogen native and protea mix. Can excess nitrogen cause mutation? Or environmental factors? I remember reading about someones column being attacked my snails causing it to crest. Acacia acuminata broad phyllode - it's a thing of beauty Sown 17/12/17 Painted mountain corn cob starting to ripen. Hopefully able to do a giveaway with that. Pricked out 11x Catha edulis seedlings into own pots.

Yes a Neoraimondia, or Neocardenasia I believe is the new valid name. Probably Herzogiana but there are other species/subspecies of Neocardenasia that are quite similar. My only freak cactus ATM is a Herzogiana that grows into itself on one side cause the ribbs are growing at different pase. Then it shoots another arm that grows into itself. One arm only has 2 ribbs and grows in a spiral. Edit: Browsed the internet, it's a Herzogiana.

Had 3 goes at grafting Lophs so far have failed, I think the first 2 times was allowing too much moisture (heavy rain) to get at them ...and the second was not crossing over the scions, so I'll get there one day

I have been meaning to take some pics of this, and today seems like a great day to update this thread. Happy Birthday, Sir Jeans!! One of your babies is flowering for me on a couple of columns this year. I am SUPER stoked about this, as it has genetics that deserve to be spread. I have 2 large plants I don't cut, (and some smaller ones I'll cut if needed). I have wanted these 2 big ones to produce flowers, and the one in the pot has now done so! It's much scrappier looking and slower to grow than it's clone I have in the ground, which pumps out massive linear growth on all 8 of it's columns each year, but no signs of flowers on that one. And a comparison of the one flowering in the pot, and the much larger one in the ground. So it won't happen this year, but this is one step towards possibly being to make Jeans X Eileen and vice versa, at some stage. This year the crosses will be something else.

They don't know what caused this one yet. Could be typhoons. Could be another fucking dickhead capt'n dropping/dragging the boat anchor.

This prolly won't help much but IMO they are some kinda hybrid, and you won't really be able to tell until they are planted out in the sun and growing tough. Very nice looking plants though, and look like you've done a good job raising them.

I've been hunting for a use for dihydromyricetin - stopped being interested in it after quitting drinking. Until now, I'm re-using it at the moment. Recently, The Versatile Effects of Dihydromyricetin in Health was published. The preparation of Ampelopsis as a tea is sometimes referred to as Vine tea. Traditional Chinese Medicine has utilised Ampelopsis as a medicinal herb for many centuries. The Moyeam grows in Zhangjiajie ethnic enclaves, and is considered to be the god's gift by the Tujia minority, best known as the "Tujia God tea". Dihydromyricetin (DHM) is a kind of flavonoid natural product that has been reported to display multiple pharmacological effects. Dihydromyricetin has been demonstrated to show antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antimicrobial, cell death-mediating, and lipid and glucose metabolism-regulatory activities. DHM exerts a more rapid antidepressant-like effect than does a typical antidepressant, in association with enhancement of BDNF expression and inhibition of neuroinflammation, being superior to venlafaxine [1]. It is traditionally used for treatment of alcohol hangovers. It has been demonstrated that dihydromyricetin may exhibit the protective effects against alcohol intoxication and alcohol tolerance. The last few days I'd been hearing this tinkly hi-speed tune every time there was a lull in the background city noise - sort of like a manic carillon - which I eventually decided must be the ringtone of a phone left behind by one of the builders who are working on the flat next door. Hi Stillman, yes the reason some cacti dont flower in some tropical regions is because they dont receive a similar cold and dark period in winter. Just take a look at the climate in the andes and try to mimique it. Temperatures there can get substantially cold, even down to short nightfrosts of -5 to +5 degree celsius. Its not a co-incidence most Trich´s are able to withstand frost to minus 7 degrees and some maybe even a bit more for short periods of time. I guess you´ll need to rubb your cacti with some icecubes.
