Get a notebook / diary. Every time he gets stopped, write it down and ask the police to sign. They won't know what the fuck is going on but they will be worried. The harrassment will stop eventually. Above all, remain calm and polite.

Took a few shots today thought I would share on here, all are grafted except the Astro Kikko Nuda which has rooted after a few years a Hylocereus. I'm most interested in the first Ariocarpus which appears to be a hybrid of sorts? Definitely has Fissuratus traits but I can also see shades of Retusus etc. Please post your own Mexican miniatures !

Planthelpers thread and the post from Bogfrog got me thinking that a thread like this would be a good idea! I know that you can defiantly get an effect from either sending good vibes or trying to absorb other peoples negative vibes as i have done both and they have been quite successful but they can be very draining. What i was think is we could maybe try this once a month for like 30-60 mins for one person and if we all do it at the same time it would be interesting to see what happens so if anyone is having some troubles or just wants to feel some good vibes post on here and we shall make a list of people who we think need it the most and try it on one person once a month and see what happens, maybe even not tell the person we are doing it to so that placebo is ruled out. What does everyone think about this? if we get enough interest i think its worth a shot... don't you?

I had a few unexpected windfalls lately, and having already bought a bunch of new toys I decided to put some of the money to good use before I spend it all on hookers and blow. So, I am offering a $300 'research grant' to help any small study or project that may be stalled due to lack of funds (doesn't have to be "research" as such). I realise that won't go a long way, but perhaps there are some smaller projects that have run short of money before they could be completed, or people who have access to cool labs but no cash, or something. Also I'm treating this as a kind of trial run, if it goes well I might look into some kind of fundraising effort for larger projects. My idea was this: people post their proposals here, saying what the money will be spent on and what the aim of the project is. For eg, maybe people could use money to go towards… *materials or equipment for analysis purposes *plant stock for hybridisation project *small print runs *materials for propagation greenhouse …etc, etc. People can use the "like" button to vote for the proposals they approve of. I will also take "likes" as votes of confidence that you believe that member can be trusted. This will not be democratic, I reserve the right to pick any project I find particularly awesome. I will give strong preference to anything which benefits the community - whether materially (eg. seeds, plants) or in the form of interesting new information (eg. whether or not native plant X contains compound Y). This grant is based on the idea that your results - whether positive or negative - will be made available to the community in an appropriate way. And I know this will probably trigger some shitfights, but if a project is redundant or unfeasible in some way, please let me know about it, preferably by PM so as not to clog this thread up with arguments (remember if you make it tedious to read this thread, no one will read it and so no one will see your ideas and vote for them!). Posts which contravene forum rules should be reported directly to mods. I won't set a deadline until I see how fast proposals come in, but I'm thinking you'll have at least a month. You can make multiple proposals, just write them up as separate posts to allow the voting thing to work properly. (I'm making this all up as I go along so keep checking this opening post for changes to conditions, and please be patient with me while I learn)

http://www.iclc.org.au/factsheets/iclc_fs_police.html Police powers and drug searchesIf you have attended Mardi Gras, Sleaze Ball or a music festival in recent years, you have probably noticed a significant police presence, often accompanied by sniffer dogs looking for people carrying drugs. If you are stopped and searched by police, it is important to know your rights and what police can and can’t do. The following fact sheet outlines police powers regarding stopping you, searching you and using sniffer dogs. 1. Reasonable grounds for being searched Power to searchPolice have a general power of search and seizure which is broadly defined with few safeguards. A police officer has the power to stop, search and detain anyone reasonably suspected of having drugs or anything dangerous or unlawful on their person. A warrant is not required and is almost never used in practice. The only basis required for a search is a reasonable suspicion held by the police officer. What are “reasonable grounds to suspect”?There must be a factual basis for the suspicion. Police guidelines direct police to consider things like the time and location, your behaviour and “antecedents” (whether you have a criminal record or other information known to police). Simply being present at an event such as the Mardi Gras party or a music festival is not a reasonable ground to suspect you are carrying drugs or something illegal. If the police do not have these “reasonable grounds to suspect”, the search is illegal and any force used will be an assault by the police officer. This would need to be established in court but you would not succeed if the police officer did find drugs or other illegal items when they searched you. Another option to consider is a complaint against the police officer. Using sniffer dogs to establish “reasonable grounds to suspect”Police use sniffer dogs in order to form the basis of a legal police search. This part of the law doesn’t give police the power to detain so they cannot force a person to stay in an area while the dog sniffs that area. However, if a person does leave the area police can use that as a basis for “reasonable grounds to suspect”. If a dog gives an indication of finding drugs, this gives the police reasonable grounds to suspect you have drugs, and they will be entitled to search you and detain you. The police must ensure that the sniffer dog is under control and that the dog does not unnecessarily touch you during the search. Where can sniffer dogs be used? The police have the power to search for drugs using sniffer dogs in or around an area where alcohol is sold; where patrons enter or exit a public event like a sporting event, concert, dance party or parade; and on public transport, in a station or at a bus stop. 2. Being searched: your rights and safeguardsThe police powers law sets out how police can conduct a search. There are some safeguards in place which police must comply with if they do decide to search you, particularly regarding strip-searches. However some rules are guidelines which police only have to comply with so far as it is reasonably practicable to do so. Initiating the searchWhen initiating a search a police officer must: provide evidence they are a police officer, such as their warrant card, if they are not in uniform; tell you their name and station; tell you reason for the search. Conducting the searchThe following applies to all searches. If the police are going to search you they have to: ask for your cooperation; tell you if you will have to take an item of your clothing off before the search; and tell you why you need to take clothes off for the search. During the search: the police must conduct the least invasive kind of search practicable in the circumstances, i.e. no strip search unless it is actually necessary; the police must conduct the search in a way that provides you with reasonable privacy and as quickly as is reasonably practicable; unless it is reasonably necessary, no search of the genital area or breasts (for female or female identifying trans and intersex people) is permitted; you should be searched by an officer of the same sex; you cannot be questioned while being searched; and the police must allow you to dress as soon as the search is finished. Strip searchesIf the police require you to remove your clothes, other than just outer clothing, you are being strip-searched. There are further safeguards and restrictions on police actions for strip searches. The police cannot strip search as a matter of policy or use these powers as a matter of course. The police must believe on reasonable grounds that a strip search is necessary and that the seriousness and urgency of the circumstances require it. A strip search is only a visual search of your body and during the search the police are not allowed to: ask you to remove any clothing that is not necessary; touch your body; search any body cavities; or search your genital area. The police must comply with these rules. They are mandatory. However there can be disagreement over what clothes are necessary to remove. There are further rules which are not mandatory and only need to be complied with as far as is reasonably practicable, including: only police necessary for the search are allowed to be present or able to see you; you must be allowed to dress as soon as the search is finished; the search must be conducted in a private place where no one of the opposite sex can see you; and only an officer of the same sex as you is allowed to conduct the search. If a police officer believes that you may have drugs, anything dangerous or illegal in your mouth or hair they are allowed to ask you to open your mouth or move your hair. For any other search of a body cavity, the police need to have your consent or a court order. Okay so I ended up getting a few of these that im pretty excited to see grow... I stressed a bunch over making the best mineral mix I could, but finally I found the stuff I was looking for nearby... at places I normally wouldn't have discovered had it not been for these little cacti lol the 3 Turbinis had dried flowers already and all on their own roots of course labels: Turbinicarpus Booleanus(FL), Turbinicarpus Schmiedickeanus ssp Klinkerianus(FR), Ariocarpus Restusus(No Aereoles)(BL), and Turbinicarpus Viereckii Neglectus(BR) also I grafted some of the A. Restusus Confusus to pereskies almost 2 weeks ago

If you can ring up the cops and get a guy in shit by saying hes into drugs can you ring up the cops and get a guy in shit by saying hes filing false police reports just to screw with people? Your friend probably wasnt the first victim of the guy, probably wont be the last, and isnt filing repeated false reports quite distinctly illegal?

A number of really interesting developments in gym research has been happening over at the shroomery of late. Mostly to be found in the gymnopilus forum there are a number of developments in the field of gymnopilus phylogenetics with re-evaluations of species considered active. Some topics covered ;- A phylogenetic look at the active gymnopilus clades. G.liquiritiae considered inactive. Additional aussie gym species considered active. G.sapineus appearing to be active. Cutting edge material.

Well, I did not make many attempts, but the successful ones did not pup at once. It might be up to 20 days -one month, I am still waiting / hoping for a leuchtenbergia areole to pup, lol , 1,5 year after ! I am hoping because the union sems solid. this [the big one] is the lopho that is coming from a areole graft. it's not more than 2 years old, probably 1,5 years old from areole to this. The Initial pretty lonig and thick selinicereus stock , ~25cm long , was cut and rerooted in a more reasonable size so that the scion touches the soil. Bottom pups were removed prior to re-rooting. One of the pups already rooted and is the small one seen in the pic. The mid sized one is a prior pereskiopsis graft, also pups were removed and grafted prior to re-rooting, only on this occasion the rooting [of the pereskiopsis] failed, but the demonic caespitosa nature of the lophophora graft forced it to root from the scion! http://postimg.org/image/xwyz7rngj/full/'>

Their response has been that they 'take schedulings very seriously and have their best scientists making these decisions'. But that's all they would disclose. Don't worry, there are people working on this as it is too good an opportunity to pass up. we even know where they copied the error from - ie no science involved other than plagiarism [which is more of an art form than a science ;) ].

Just in case it's necessary for this to be said: I recommend your friend be getting conventional western treatment for cancer as well, if she isn't already. Too many people have died because they put too much faith in slow-working herbal remedies, and thought they didn't need chemotherapy to survive... Herbal medicine will help the healing process in the long run for sure, but with an immediate problem like cancer, it isn't an aggressive enough response.

Well said Jox I agree with the thoughts on it being monstose and I think it is important for us as growers and for the forum as a whole to be able to post questions and opinions on plants that are posted here. If we don't question a post because the OP might take the question as being offensive then this forums credibility will be undermined. Cheers Got

'And when the twelfth largest company in the world controls the most awesome, god-damn propaganda force in the whole godless world, who knows what shit will be peddled for truth on this network. So, you listen to me. Listen to me! Television is not the truth. Television's a god-damned amusement park. Television is a circus, a carnival, a traveling troupe of acrobats, storytellers, dancers, singers, jugglers, sideshow freaks, lion tamers, and football players. We're in the boredom-killing business. So if you want the Truth, go to God! Go to your gurus! Go to yourselves! Because that's the only place you're ever gonna find any real truth' - Howard Beale (The Network 1976) Anyone who actually believes the crap the establishment spreads about via the media, about Islam, communism and this 'war on terror' is emotionally incapable of the responsibilities of being a human.
