Haha great read, thanks for posting. I watched a doco called 'last of the medicine men: peyote' and before the group was allowed to take the peyote the leader made each person describe every person they had ever had sex with. It was really funny watching them getting all giggly and squirming uncomfortably, some guys were like 'ummm..there was a girl from a bar.. I do not know her name.. And another girl who had black hair..' There was a woman with them as well, she had quite a long list! She went bright red in the face and all the men were laughing and giving her shit for it. Very valuable group bonding experience lol.

I love spring and the new growth it brings, though at 33 degrees celcius today feels more like summer and some where I came from in NZ Moved to Aus 8 months ago and started my collection again so very excited to see all the new growth and the start of an out of control collection Have a lot of other plants but these are the ones pupping at the moment. Going to try coconut milk this weekend and see how that goes. Nothing too exciting here but love going out each evening with a glass of red or seven looking for new pups!!

Success !!! I finally got one to come up. It's been about six weeks since it was treated with hot water and now it's finally poked it's head up. After two weeks I did what Gerbil said and removed some pieces of the seed coats, then two weeks later nothing had happened so I removed the entire seed coat and planted them in a brunnings seed raising mix (I'll never buy that shit again it was full of chunks of bark) mixed with river sand. I've raised heaps of acuminata, obtusifolia, maidenii before with no problems, but these things are in a class of their own. I've got to wonder if there is something from their natural environment that is missing from the soil that assists germination, such as a fungus or bacteria.

Hey Zelly. Sorry for not contacting you back. Ended up conversing with Jox prior to sale to him, and am going him halfs in costs/seeds. Shameless bump for Zelly. He is the man! Seeds arrived safely in recipients hands within like 5 days of posting, and that was with standard postage!. If inside Australia, and you require 'Mexicans' from outside of Aus, then look no further. CHEAP AND FRESH SEED...can't go wrong....Thanks again Zelly.

Yeah, if Malcolm Turnbull was the leader of the libs, then I’d be definitely be voting for the liberals next election. I hate gillard! Her unethical mentality is clearly highlighted by how she was prepared to use her own father’s death for political gain. Also, breaking international law and abandoning people in desperate need of assistance with her refugee policy, for the sake of a few votes, was a low act. Someone should ship that heartless bitch off to Nauru! That would true be poetic justice. Btw, I don’t know what debate you were watching, but there’s no way Romney ‘destroyed’ obama in the last debate. Romney clearly won the first debate, but imo obama clearly one the 2 debates after that. Of course it all comes down to personal opinion, but there’s no way you could say Romney ‘destroyed’ obama in the third debate, when obama clearly stood his ground in the last 2 debates. I also think your opinion of it not making a difference who wins the up coming US election, is completely false. Basically, Americas got 2 choices if they want to hold onto their world dominance. First choice is to invade Iran and take full control of the Persian Gulf, which would probably end up being the catalyst for world war 3. There second choice is to start making the transition to renewable energy and stop relying so much on oil. Romney is clearly and advocate for option 1, where as it seems obama is going for option 2, since he hasn’t invaded iran yet. Imo, the outcome of the upcoming US election, will have a huge influence on the satiability of the civilized world.

Romney did it to himself. People will have a long hard look at what he said, about everything he has said, and their conclusion will be.. "F#%K THAT FOR A JOKE!" (Just like their eventual perceptions of Sarah Palin). Nothing like some sobering reality to open peoples eyes to pure bullshit.

When you offer something for free, you should be prepared to accept the reality that some people may not take the courtesy to say thank you, and thats just a reality of life. It does not mean what you did for that person is any less valuable, they simply lack an awareness of the required social ettiquite for recieving such gifts. In time, everyone who sticks around long enough comes to understand the ettiquite and gives back what they can, and so the process continues. We just have to be aware many people are just beginning on the road to their new way of life and what comes across to us as 'bad manners' is simply a valuable lesson they are yet to learn. Turning against them for such ignorance could turn them away, and we dnt want that, we just want them to learn. As for growing plants for profit, i think its perfectly reasonable to want something in return for your efforts, but i draw the line at making your living from other people's addictions :-(

Are you saying it's my fault my ex was abusive towards me? I obviously deserved it, and I obviously didn't treat her right. Do you say the same thing about female victims of abuse? You know, if she just had've treated her man right she wouldn't have gotten the black eye? Yes, shame on you! Do you know how many feminists would love to chop your balls off for saying such a thing? Look at the backlash after Christopher Hitchens said that women are the fairer sex and that no woman of his is ever going to have to work. My gripe isn't with women. Most women I know are wonderful human beings. My gripe is with feminism and the misandry that is perpetuated through our society because of feminist inspired dogma. I think the gender stereotypes of old are terrible, and I think it's a valid human rights issue for those stereotypes to be broken. The thing is that feminism has had great success in breaking those stereotypes, but only where such a change benefits women. Men have always suffered from these stereotypes too, and feminism not only fails to address men's issues, but actively fights to prevent these issues being addressed by others. While the circumstances for women have improved significantly over the past few decades, the gender roles expected of men have pretty much remained the same, and anyone who questions the acceptability of this is labelled a misogynist. The only time men's rights as a group are ever improved are when it's an incidental consequence of improving rights for women. I should qualify this by noting that there are a couple of exceptions. There are people who label themselves as feminists who are interested in true equality. Interestingly, they seem to almost exclusively be sex-worker or former sex-workers who are fed up with how mainstream feminism negatively impacts on their rights. But this is not the form of feminism that inspires public policy or societal norms. Most people who call themselves feminists will say they are for equality of the sexes, but when quizzed about specifics, they seem all too eager to ignore any men's issues and even deny that such issues exist. Again, I think girlwriteswhat, in her NAFALT video, is very convincing in her argument that until feminists start looking at, or at least acknowledging, men's issues, and publicly denounce feminists who refuse to do so, it is fair to paint feminist with a broad brush and not be persuaded by arguments that "not all feminists are like that".

The work done today is to point out potential breaches of the law to ch7. This is important because apparently if you don't do this there is not much of a case afterwards. I would love to post the full letter sent to ch7 right here, but have been advised not to. But basically, now if they show secretly filmed footage, or my private residence, or in any way link me to the use or sale of psychoactive drugs they are in deep doo doo. I presume they will do most of these things anyway, but we'd have a pretty solid case for defamation and compensation afterwards. Maybe even enough to pay the legal bills this is generating, LOL. They only received the letter at 5.30pm, so this does not leave them much time to edit. I'm having a ball doing this and learning lots in the process, so regardless of the immediate outcome, it is definitely worthwhile. Important lessons for maybe one day when things get truely problematic ;)

I hope they don't fail to highlight that consumption is already outlawed. I wouldn't want 7 news responsible for encouraging kids to illegally consume these legally available plants. Now that would be news worthy!

Here's a pictorial Vennish diagram. The larger square is "everything". --How we described what we knew in the year 1600-- ________________________________________________ |.....................|.........................................................................| |.....................|.........................................................................| |.....Science...|..........................Magic......................................| |.....................|.........................................................................| |.....................|.........................................................................| |.....................|.........................................................................| |.....................|.........................................................................| |.....................|.........................................................................| |.....................|.........................................................................| |.....................|.........................................................................| |.....................|.........................................................................| ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ --How we describe what we know in the year 2012-- ________________________________________________ |...................................................................|...........................| |...................................................................|...........................| |....................Science..................................|.......Magic...........| |...................................................................|...........................| |...................................................................|...........................| |...................................................................|...........................| |...................................................................|...........................| |...................................................................|...........................| |...................................................................|...........................| |...................................................................|...........................| |...................................................................|...........................| ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ^^ Basically, there's: The person who believes that what is currently in the science box is all there is, and denies anything else. This person is about as likely to be correct, as I am likely to turn into a dragon the second I click 'Post' (I'll let you know if I am a dragon afterwards). It should be obvious that the science box keeps growing, and will continue to grow for a very long time. There's no evidence of it stopping. For this reason, this viewpoint I don't think is useful. The person who believes that what is in the magic box is all there is, and denies anything else. This person is again, basically wrong, as it's not hard to show them things from the science box (such as bacteria, galvanism, static electricity - all traditionally attributed to magic). The person who believes what's in the magic box can fit entirely into the science box That's me (for now). If the things called "magic" exist, then science can bend to fit them, and then they will be "science" too. Things that in the past were described with magic (such as rainbows), have been found to have more simple ( = less things to believe in that cannot be seen or measured in order to explain) explanations from science. The person who believes what's in the science box can fit entirely into the magic box I can't deny the possibility that everything might be magic, but see no non-ambiguous evidence for it (i.e. if science can explain it without invoking nothing "unseen", then that evidence is ambiguous). This same caveat applies to the science explanation. This ultimately reduces the choice to "which is more useful?" for the ambiguous cases. The person who believes that nothing exists (denies the existence of anything) Well... good luck to this person - they're gonna need it. The person who believes that what's in the boxes at the moment is correct [both science and magic exist] I can only point to the "graphs" showing that the magic box almost certainly become a lot smaller, and will continue to do so, as science describes more things more accurately. This is a work in progress. Please help if you can see anything missing. I'm sure I've left things out. Such as including a category of "Not sure". But I think most of the points stand. And here's to hoping I can finally become a dragon and flamethrower those banker cowards... Edit: I did not become a dragon, for those who were wondering.

There are different groups within the genus, If i can remember what book it was in i'll post the reference. They wont generally hybridize with a species from a different group (EG's cement tech might over come their reluctance?) but will happily hybridize within their own group.
