    indoor / outdoor cacti

I have seen oothica's (mantis eggs) for sale on overseas sites but you wouldn't be able to bring them over. Maybe check the site Stiilman suggested.. I was breeding mantis for a while & getting oothica's from them (Its awesome to watch there antics when it comes to breeding, poor little fella, gets his head eating while procreating!!) Now when I'm out doing gardening I often find oothica's (autumn & winter) & collect them & place them in my green house, they hatch out in spring (50/100 baby's).

    indoor / outdoor cacti

@ DarkSpark, I have used mantis for pest control for years now & have kept them as pets for my kids. I have never come across a more ravenous predator! If you keep them as pets you can over feed them, they will keep eating until they explode!

    indoor / outdoor cacti

I have my cacti in a green house, this does not keep pests out but I put pray mantis oothica's in there & when they hatch they take care of most other insects.

    Shrivelled Lophs

Hey BF, Looks to me you got the raw end of a bad deal mate & to think some members didn't take the time to say thanks for redistributing those A pleb seeds last month. I have only had good & positive experiences here & love being a member, but for members to take advantage of other members is wrong! Maybe theses ungrateful members should be named? Anyway, I have a bit of spare cacti seed here at the moment (a lot of different species & variety's), If you are interested in growing from seed, please let me know & I will be happy to help you out. Regards jox

    Lime/Lime stone

Do member here use lime/lime stone in there cacti mix? I am about to pot up some of my mexican minis from there seed trays into there own pots & wanted to add some lime to my mix. I would like to be able to get lime stone chips but all I can find is powdered forms (a few different brands). What do you use? Stones or powder? Any particular brands? At what ratios? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Cheers jox

  14. Hi all, I was gifted with 10 of these seeds today & don't know anything about them, I have been told different parts of the plant are used in cooking & the leafs are very high in antioxidants (the highest of any Etlingera spp). If anyone hear grows this plant & or uses it in cooking etc. I would love to hear about it! Cheers jox

    what is this tree?

Thanks for the suggestions, it turn out ferret nailed it. I had a good look at the spp you all suggested & went & saw my mate. He has seen it flower & confirmed it is Nauclea orientalis. He went on to tell me when he brought the land there were rows of these trees set up like an orchard. What would be the reason for mass planting like this? Do these tree have a big $ value, fruit, medical property's?? Cheers for the help. jox

    Pot Bound Acacia

Good score for $5 mate, I have just re potted my A. obtus seedlings yesterday into much bigger pots using a native potting mix. I wasn't planning on doing it for another couple of months but there roots were growing out the bottom of there original pots, there only 4months old. If i had a choice & the right location I'd be putting them in the ground for sure but unfortunately I rent so I have everything in pots. Get some pics up, so we can have a look Good luck. Cheers jox

  24. Just finished watching it! T, your lawyers must have put the wind up them a bit, your house wasn't shown & it seem to be a lot more toned down compared to the promo. Can they get in trouble for showing your house on the promo? best of luck.
