Thanks for that warning Halcyon. ive not ID'd them, I just generically call them that cause they are red and burn like crazy when they bite. Its pristine bush, so I doubt they are some introduced nasty. I will take a good look next weekend. Cheers.

sacred, mhmm....... if there has been a continuous ceremonial practice for 15000 years specifically to honor geological landscape features, I reckon that qualifies as sacred. all the songlines lead to Yengo, and the Meeting Places around Wollombi. Convict roads and landmarks are along the outskirts of Yengo,as the Colonials followed the existing Indigenous route where possible. As all the natives retreated from Sydney, back along the songlines to Wollombi and stood ground around there, there were massacres in the area and that is what need to be healed thru Medicine work.

Hey Able, Wonderful to see a member who has been touched by the magic of Yengo. We have a paradise property adjoining the national park, and are right in the thick of the Dreaming. Fuck man, I wouldnt know where to start telling you Yengo stories, my partner has also researched the shit out of the place. I have a private caves walk that blows peoples minds. Anyone who digs Yengo is a friend of mine, your welcome to spend a night around my campfire, and get a whole download. In short, its one of the best sacred sites in Australia, and is primed for Ceremony. Its also one of the largest outdoor art galleries in the world. I include some pictures from the Mens Business sacred site, which is, as far as Im concerned ,is a magic portal hotspot, Worldclass . Too much to type, lets talk, arrange a trip up, lets do some real magic. Yengo is the bomb !

Deciding on a date is always a messy affair. Someone always gets left out. Ive been thru the thread and although 24sept suits a few, It cuts Toast out .As Toast started the idea and started the ball rolling with his availability of the long weekend, it seems only right he be included in his meet. So maybe sat 1 Oct. Thats my 2 bobs worth. As far as kids go, we tend to be openminded on most things, but nobody has ever chosen to bring their kids in the past. Its usually just members and occasionally their partner, as we are discussing all things plants and many associated things, and there is often smoking and drinking. Id suggest new members meeting a bunch of new people, would rather focus on that rather than entertaining the kids as well, and perhaps making people censor their conversation and behavior as CrayZ has suggested. Then again, the Cemetery is a great place for kids, and if a partner is willing to supervise, there are places to take them to explore, whilst the adults talk plants and stuff ad nauseum. While im on a roll let me do a sample agenda, times flexible. That way people who are late, can find us. There is a great cafe in the Cemetery, good Italian coffee. Meet there between 10:00 an 10:30 its on Memorial ave,at the Barker st entrance. Move to the exhibition, which is off Hawthorne ave 11:30 relocate to the old Gothic tombs along Cohen ave for a picnic lunch. 1:00 relocate to the Crematorium sunken gardens and Rose Maze. here is a map on the cafe website. http://www.rookwoodcemetery.com.au/services/venues/reflections-cafe

What did you do in your sacred garden today?
Horus replied to theuserformallyknownasd00d's topic in Ethnobotany
Yep, the goannas are out and about, the acacias blooming, I think its spring. -
Well, I was planning on having a weekend off the farm, as I always go to the sculpture walk in Rookwood Cemetery. Running for a Month from sept23. I know Rookwood like the back of my hand and give the best "alternative" tours. Some of Sydneys best kept secret gardens are within its 7 square kilometer precinct. It would be a super place for a Sydney meet, particularly coinciding with the art and the spring flowers. I havent decided what weekend I will go, but whether we have a full meet there or not Id be happy to meet other members for a picnic. Or if a Sydney meet was elsewhere, I would stay down Sydney and work in a Cemetery tour around that date. I usually go the 2nd week of the exhibition which would make it the first weekend in Oct. Im flexible but. http://www.hiddeninrookwood.com.au/

Aboriginal marriage and ancient traditions
Horus replied to beau_dean's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Ive read a lot about Aboriginal culture and Ive not seen any accounts like that. I cant quote any alternative ceremonies as my books are up the farm, but generally women were treated with more respect, as in smaller tribes everyone was important and respected.- 12 replies

What does shamanism mean to you?
Horus replied to courage's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
So many ways to address that question, that im sure has been asked here before. As "shamanism" is a highly overused word that has all but lost its original meaning. It rarely means that staunch native tribal member who has years of specialised training. And lives medicine and magic as a lifestyle. Nowdays anyone, doing serious medicine circle is considered a shaman or shamanic. This site, Shaman Australis, has played its part in making the word culturally morphed to mean generalized entheogenic plant use. And it is a handy adjective to let people know what you mean without going into incriminating detail. Like "I have a garden with shamanic plants". "I spent the weekend at a Shamanic retreat" "I read books on Shamanic practice" etc etc People will know what you are referencing, without you having to say any more. The question,"what it means to me" is quite ironic, now I have given it a bit of thought. I know a lot of people refer to me as a Shaman, as I said above, its a handy descriptive adjective. As in they like to boast how they "spent the weekend in the bush with a shaman". That one word can embellish their story and add an air of mystery and importance. I correct them that Facilitator is the appropriate word. Where as I actually think of myself as shamanic, and most things I do have some connection to the plants and magic. I coined my own term to get away from shaman. Enchantment Enhancer. When I retire soon it will be for a full time shamanic (enchanted) lifestyle. Which means to me- a lifestyle in tune with nature, its medicines and its power to assist people in a positive way. To be a conduit for the plants to work thru. To enhance the experience and potential of the plants. With that context its interesting to see how I privately perceive myself without ever saying so, Just my garden, practice and actions. Is how lots of folk see me. Then again Ive been on the Shaman forum for 15 years, the fucking word has to have rubbed off onto us all a fair bit. Your a funny bugger Courage you say " I hope my intentions here have been understood" This may be your first coherent post. Most peeps have no idea what to make of any of your posts. I may start a new thread "what does Space Cadet mean to you". : ) Anyhow thats my 2 bobs worth. -
Hey Flux,we have never met,but I think I just spent Sat night around the campfire with you.

o's mushroom hunting adventures - 2016 - and maybe other things fungi related.....
Horus replied to spooge's topic in Mycology
Great pictures, thanks for sharing your fungal passion. Good taste in whiskey too, in moderation it has its place in the scheme of things, especially after a cold wet hunt. Keep posting, for those of us who cant get to the cold forests, a vicarious experience thru you is the next best thing. cheers. -
Harvesting every leaf off of psychotria viridis deterimental to plant health or not?
Horus replied to Meditator's topic in Ethnobotany
I will report back in 6 mths, as I have recently done every option mentioned to answer this for myself. 3 plants of similar size and age. 1 leaves left on 1 leaves stripped and trimmed 1 pruned back hard but with leaves remaining left. All P.Viridus including Nexus struggle thru winter in my location. So I am interested if any of these options improves their spring vigor.- 8 replies

Great photos, page 70 volume 7 may be of interest

Ah, this thread has answered my curiosity about the false reading on the donation bar. As long as donations are still coming in. It looked like nobody had interest, and what money going in was being absorbed by fees and charges.

Nice garden, great collection. Thanks for the porno thrill.
