Flowers show this is definitely a Mammilaria. Do a search on www.llifle.com for Mammilaria and try to photo match.
  2. I would also like to know this, for both P.Viridis and S.Divinorum. Is a winter prune possible on either or is it best to wait until Spring?

Those look awesome nrivers, so healthy! How do you prevent the arios from pupping on Peres? I've found so far that if I cut the Ario scion quite short it generally doesn't pup as much as taller cut scions.

  9. So the plants are foliar fed through misting with fertilisers? Wouldnt this ruin the fluffy trichomes? I know cacti can absorb through their stomata at night, but if they only got water this way, would their fine roots desicate?
  10. Just had to necro this thread, after seeing Nut's photos today on his laptop i looked up more of Uncle Chorn and found his old post. I'd love to know the growing techniques employed here....

    Who's your messiah now?

The main issue here is that incompatible belief systems about the nature of reality cannot be reconciled when the interviewer lacks focus and articulates himself poorly, and the interviewee is dismissive and arrogant. One fails to open a discussion coherently and the other fails to be open to discussion. its painful to watch because I know what the interviewer is trying to say but he comes off sounding like the drug addled stoner that the interviewee seems to think he is.

    Astrophytum Japanese cultivar seed wanted.

Your better off getting the mix pack from Star Astrophytum. Many reports complain that the seedlings are not what is pictured, but this is probably due to the fact that large numbers must be sown and selection made for cultivar characteristics.

Need some photos to see what it actually is. Most of the "san pedros" in Perth are actually "PC". If its a true pachanoi/peruvianus/bridgesii then many folks here would be keen im sure.

    The Cool Tripper Toys Thread

Although one time on highschool my friends and I all dropped acid and went to zone3 laser tag. The briefing room before the session started was full of blacklight sand mad colours, and had this heat reactive paint in the walls that left an imprint if your hand after you took it off that glowed to the black lights. At least I think it did, maybe it was the acid? Anyways, my mates all went on to play laser tag and I never left the briefing room. They found me in there hours later rubbing my face and arms all over the walls and mumbling incoherently. If I could get that reactive paint and mass blacklights in a room again, that would be the ultimate trip toy for me.

    Germinating Caapi

theres a stickied thread at STS in trades and giveaways forum. Just respond in the thread or PM the OP. It may not be the right season for fresh seeds though, so you might want to ask about that.

    Germinating Caapi

Sorry to hear about that mate. They give away caapi seeds for free over on Sharetheseeds and they sprouted in 3 weeks for me at almost 100 percent. Alicia takes alot longer in my experience, like almost 3 months.

I'm curious about using zygo stock, I have one neglected plant but never tried. Is it similar to using hylocereus? I've found with hylocereus that the scions needed to be over 3 months old and that o had to use new shoots or supple green growth only.

This guy is the master. I think this is where the idea came from, a lot of ppl shared this around last year.
  21. hey mate,

welcome to the forums. Are you in Australia?

Nice job with the mamm seeds, ive heard they are difficult to obtain without hurting the plant. Anyways, if you were wanting to trade, I have some Ario seeds, but i will have to check the numbers and varieties. I think from memory I have some spare trigonus and furfuraceous, around 30 of each. In around 3 weeks I will have about 50 spare agavoides from a variegated motherplant. (agavoides varieg x agavoides). If any of this sounds interesting, let me know.

Also, are theresea difficult from seed? Ive grown a few different mamms from seed without difficulty, including herrerae, but never tried the supposedly hard to germinate ones such as theresea, luethyi, humboldtii.

    Cheers

      Hi.

      Im in Australia, Gold Coast.

I dont have many seeds left now maybe 30 from the 100 I collected.

The variegated agavoid seed sound interesting.

Ive found a way to havest seed with barely any damage to the plant using a skewer with a tinny ball of bluetak on the end.

As for germinating them, yeah it is hard from all I've read but i used the info available on the net and added a couple of my own ideas and since sowing 7 three days ago i have one up today,  and this is far from ideal sowing season.

If we swap some seed ill share my techniques with you.

Im no expert on these mams, just a hobbist and this small test batch of 7 seeds weren't even soaked before use as some sites recommend - even in acid compounds.

      Check the pic - day 1 M.theresae

      Thanks and talk again.

  24. Makes sense.... Small amounts of dopamine are released when we achieve small goals, like a self reward system. Perhaps the unmotivated stoner stereotype is a result of reduced dopamine release - a heavy cannabis user is feeling less fulfilment in daily life from doing things and thereby loses the 'drive' to continue achieving. (Just a thought, could be entirely wrong here!)
