The 3d ones are made with 3ds Max, Mudbox, Xenodream, Groboto, Xfrog and occasionally Vue Xstream.

tassiejd Posted November 30, 2009 great stuff, have you ever had a play with zbrush if not grab a copy and have a look, you can do some aswome stuff with it
The Dude Posted December 1, 2009 Wikkid stuff mate! do you have a deviantart account? is worth it. Also check out Incendia. - Fantastic Application. I know sfa about rendering fractals, but if there's an app out there that can render the mandlebulb, that would be interesting to explore, just to see if there is a unique variation in patterning (emergent factors) that is infinite like the 2d mandelbrot set. I think It is nigh time i upgraded my pc so i can render these too!
Xenodimensional Posted December 2, 2009 Cheers! Glad you like them :-) I have used Zbrush a bit in the past but it's a tad more complex (intimidating?) than Mudbox. It might be time to check it out again as I hear it's got some pretty neat new tools. I saw a video a couple of months ago where the artist sculpted an entire creature and rigged it in about 10 minutes or less.... mind boggling stuff!! Mudbox is nifty because it's easy and is a quick way to express ideas. I have been checking out Incendia for a while, I like it a lot but the lack of 3d export is a bit of a bummer. I'd love a program to make images as detailed as the Mandelbulb, Incendia and Xenodream are about as close as it gets though.... for now ;-) There would by rights have to be 'emergent factors' in the Mandelbulb, but it seems like most of the renders of it to date have a low iteration count (i.e. they 'crap out') before they get to the really interesting bits, bring on quantum computing!! I do have a deviantart account, it's a bit way out of date but PM me if you'd like to see it.

Xenodimensional Posted April 10, 2011 thank you! I would like to have a go at making some jewellery... one day when I get some time! My dad makes jewellery and I know another jeweller too, but yes there has been discussion about creating some pieces.
