Auxin Posted March 23, 2009 Yeah I got one too, rather than clicking the link and getting a trojan or somethin' I just forwarded it to Torsten
ballzac Posted March 23, 2009 Yep. I think he's done it to a few members, because I went to his profile page and a few people had already had a look. Is there a way to directly report a PM like there is with forum posts?
Evil Genius Posted March 23, 2009 Hi Guys! It seems like its not possible to directly report a pm! I tried!
Chiral Posted March 23, 2009 Yep seems the spammers are trying to fly below the radar and send personal PM's..muhahahah..we're to smart for those tinned meat specialists..simply delete the silly Russian boys PM and perhaps Torsten can delete him as a member. H.
Ace Posted March 23, 2009 I also received a PM from this spammer this morning. Ignored it and certainly not clicking their link.
ballzac Posted March 23, 2009 I'd really love to know what the link was about, but no one is going to admit to being the dumbarse who clicked on it

BlackDragon Posted March 23, 2009 Still scanning. i did get a microsoft error reporting window open up tho, stating " Some unexpected errors have happened to software you recently used. You were not asked to send these error reports at the time they occurred" "malaware signeture download" under the applications part, error description was "unexpected error", size "335 bytes" Error is as follows. EventType : mptelemetry P1 : 8024402c P2 : endsearch P3 : search P4 : 1.1.1593.0 P5 : mpsigdwn.dll P6 : 1.1.1593.0 P7 : windows defender Does that help anyone? i gather windows defender has picked up the error. Ive gotta go out now so ill have to wait till i return to se the results.
alkatrope Posted March 23, 2009 Yeah I got it too..
Evil Genius Posted March 23, 2009 Hi Blackdragon! I´m not sure what the message means! mpsigdwn.dll belongs to the Microsoft Defender! Get yourself some more Anti Spyware Programs like Spybot Search & Destroy! And download the Freeware Hijackthis to check the running processes! You dont see spyware in the ms task manager! They can hide! And i would suggest you to disable Active X and java! You will have more security while surving! bye Eg
whit3rabbit Posted March 23, 2009 (edited) Got one too. 'It's wonderful!' with a link to febl.ru, redirects to sabl.ru Looks like this: (the icon on the bottom left means the firefox addon NoScript prevented some javascript from running, which is nothing dangerous, just automatically focussing the text box on the page) Here's the source code: http://pastebin.com/f5dd2d4b3 Hasn't done anything bad to my computer though. From the source it seems there's nothing that could, unless its the call to the really long image, but thats just the captcha. apothecary Posted March 24, 2009 Hi guys, Just looking at that screen-shot, most likely this website is set up to harvest CAPTCHAs (the random number security thing). The idea is unsuspecting people fill it in without realising it is actually a CAPTCHA from the sign-up form of another website (such as gmail or another forum) which then allows the spammers to proceed with a human looking registration on those other sites. I am pretty sure Torsten has members on approval wait before allowing them to post to prevent this exact thing, so when one slips by you know they probably did the same thing from another forum to sign up to this one! Torsten Posted March 24, 2009 spammer has been deleted. there have been a few new annoyances lately which is usually an indication that I need to update the software - which will do soon. i usually keep new members on hold for at least a week and most spammers get tired waiting that long
