its been a week with out coke and i feel great, i feel the weight dropping off. I have been drinking soda water with a dash of lemon lime bitters and having tea with no sugar for my caffeine fix , so far so good . Plus coke is such a rip off for what it is, even petrol is cheaper.

i find viridis a sensitive plant, regarding over fertilizing, so i try to fert often but little. they are not very virgorous growers, so overall, they don't need a lot of fert. 1/2 strengh, i would use fert only every 3 or 4 weeks during the summer, and than only a bit of it, in winter, hardly any fert, just a bit. viridis loves and needs, water/moisture straight over it leaves, so they love a foliar feed once in a while, 1/8 strengh and misted over the whole plant.

thank you for inviting us to your place, i liked the mum & dad pic the most, followed by your flowering vilca. somehow the picket fence, together with the cacti, envokes feelings like, and behind starts the real yellow brick road. nice to see your vilca doing it, i know you waited for a while. i probably will kill my vilca soon, it just grew into a too big tree for me. i say this to warn you, in case your specimen starts, being trouble for your house (it's planted very close). again, nice pic's. ;)

Things are healthy but you should be aiming for thicker stems and a more robust apical meristem and axillary shoots. In general I think you will be wanting to increase the sun exposure, wind exposure, nutrient availability, manage a better wet dry cycle and potentially use an alternate mix for the acuminata. (not to say they can't do well in what they are in, but barkier seed mixes tend to get more fungal issues, nutrient issues, seperate and compact easier, become hydrophobic and can make managing wet dry cycles difficult, achievable just tricky/different.) Regarding sun or general setup, I quite enjoyed this explaination from a novice, although you can start them in full sun, timing is fairly crucial, as full sun during parts of the year here will kill things outright. "The potted plants are placed in a waterproof shade structure giving 70% shade with orientation allowing two hours of unshaded morning and afternoon sun when day temperatures are below 30 degrees C, afternoon sun is shaded when temperature exceeds 30 degrees C. This is achieved by adjusting the heights of two shade cloth blinds. The design of the structure allows plenty of air circulation. The area is protected from strong wind. This sounds elaborate but it is only a man-made structure trying to duplicate the conditions self-sown seedlings experience growing under native trees." http://anpsa.org.au/APOL2006/jun06-1.html Not to say completely replicate it, but allow times of good strong light in comfortable conditions, then when overly hot and strong it needs to be more dappled Acuminata is quite prone to water issues like damping off and root rot / poor root development, so I think getting their soil and environmental factors right are quite important to a good start. Having a fertile well drained sandy soil (like sandy loam), and allow a wet dry cycle. If your seedling mix or potting mix is of quality, then you possibly won't need any fertiliser, like a good homemade aged compost etc, but if you buy from stores or make up coir/CSS mixes, fertiliser is needed if not essential for the latter. I use this to fert my acacia seedlings/saplings with great results (middle one), over a variety of mixes: straight seed mixes, various coir:css ratios, coirs:composts etc. Inoculated or not. It's essentially blood and bone, don't know what they've dont different, yet to investigate. http://www.richgro.com.au/my_native_garden/fertilisers.php There is good info here regarding different mixes, nutrient levels etc and how they made plants react, i.e. the quickest 'healthiest' growth due to excess Nitrogen isn't particularly desireable. Well worth a good read, and it is context and species specific, we need to group things, yet seperate and think logically about specificities. http://www.kew.org/ucm/groups/public/documents/document/kppcont_047341.pdf oh, and with sands, don't forget to sieve and wash them, adding 'sand' with all this fine particle dust will lock up your medium, creating a waterlogged anaerobic envionment for your roots, if you are doing that to an already difficult to work with mix, you'll be pulling your hair out playing with drainage, pH, nutrients, over and underwatering etc.

... when feeding your plants, you look at one of your sansevierias in an ackward hard to reach spot, and discover that the outbreak of scale insect you just recently completed exterminating, have somehow managed to cover your rooting sansy's with brown mushy dots, and so you break your back bending over like a fool instead of doing it the easy way cause you don't wanna move a bunch shit outta the way... and when you get mostly done scraping them off, you notice a nice little pup has popped out of the soil and so you take an even closer look, only to discover that what you thought were scale were actually just dried beads of sea kelp that landed there when you were foliar feeding your other plants... Well... I don't hate it but shit lol don't you hate it when someone types a long ass run-on sentence only broken apart by a couple commas and few dots here and there...

I'd Just like to bump this topic again. It's been about 5 months since I originally posted about Bitcoin. They were $11.80 and have since climbed and climbed to about $21 aud / per btc. I'm not going to say I told you so, but perhaps this will merit another overview of it. Bitcoin would suit this site perfectly, allowing for transactions between members within minutes paving the way for more streamlined and confident trading. Along with holding funds in a currency/commodity with huge growth potential as its user base growths through the realization of its usefulness. Bitcoin is a liberating of currency from the corruption of current government issued fiat that is essentially stealing straight from your pocket in relation to the % inflation rate each year. Along with fractional reserve banking methods that cause economic instability because they simply don't have as much money as they claim to, so when push comes to shove and they need to pay out...they have none, requiring to either default and dissolve the failed bank (because of it's failed practices) or for the gov to buy it out through the creation of more money out of thin air (that's actually out of your pocket). It's time we took action to prevent this ever expanding plague of government interference, coercion and special interest funding by taking control of our money, the peoples money and become our own banks. Again, I'm willing to answer any questions I can - interested to hear any of your thoughts or criticisms on the matter. Thanks p.s I realize I may sound like a fanatic, but I truly believe this world can become a better place and none of that can happen while we're not using sound money because otherwise that power is manipulated - certaintly not for the benefit of all

i enjoy challenging people, i enjoy making people think or attempting to do so, i enjoy discussion, i enjoy argument, i enjoy it all, it soothes my suicidal boredom disorder, it has entertainment value, it's practise for me in terms of debating and specifically debating this topic, it helps me think about things, in many ways i really couldn't care less if i'm being annoying or antagonistic, i wish people would appear from no where and start trying to discuss, debate or argue with me in a way that is stimulating and engaging. it serves many purposes. i believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion but i also believe not all opinions are equal, for example evolution VS creation, if anyone thinks that creationism carries anywhere near equal weight to that of evolution, i would say they are ignorant. i think the idea that "drugs are bad" is extremely simplistic and stupid and i feel compelled to question people who hold such views, ideally i would like to make people think and change their minds but i do not expect to. i am an extremely sensitive person and i'm sure many people here and out there who use drugs are also highly sensitive, i hate the stigma, it effects my mental health, i want to be open about my interests without the cultural backlash, i feel compelled to do what ever i can to change the social conscious, as i said this is good practise for me, hopefully one day i will be able to debate and discuss this topic at a higher level. needlessly antagonistic, maybe, so what? moral high grounds can go fuck themselves, if someone had a similar discussion to me about religion i would happily debate or argue with them. the whole drugs are bad shit is largely based on morality which is a piece of shit and fallacious, many people don't like their ideals to be questioned but it's actually healthy in many ways, we see ourselves tip toeing around such a conservative society because many people are afraid of offending others, being politically correct is a fucking joke, people need to question, be questioned and think to help keep balance, we live in such an unbalanced world, question always, don't be afraid to offend. anything else?
