i wonder if it's like somebody said before, suddenly the media is demonising china because of what's happening with the economy. torture is extremely offensive to westerners but don't forget that european nations were doing it openly not too long ago and among the western nations one is certain to be regularly torturing humans and that's the united states. saying fuck the chinese is just ignorant. the thing i wonder about is what kind of environment causes people to be like this. is it just a threshold where you ignore your conscience enough and suddenly you think "i'm okay with this"? they say that violent psychopaths often torture animals when growing up.

im not saying its not wrong. im saying that australia isnt exactly guilt free when it comes to animal cruelty. i dont agree with neither. and protest it when i come across farmers who still use the practice. they say it saves time. i say besides the cruelty aspect how can u put a lambs nuts in ur mouth. im against unnecessary cruelty of any form. another horrible act that occurs out here is the "blooding" of pig dog pups. this happens where a hunter holds generall a sow without tusks by the back legs, where she cant bite him, and gets the young pig dogs to basically tear the sow apart. this is not a slow death. theres pictures of it all over facebook. i guess the moral of the story is, dont hate on the chinese in such a broad term, where animal cruelty is systemic in our own country. i really dont get it, the fuss that goes on about cane toad cruelty, where feral pigs are tortured to death on a weekly basis. whats required is an "ethical culling of feral pig party" the "good" piggers i know tell me some horrible stuff. some pigs they kill have been horrifically mutilated and let live, they find pigs with gunshot wounds all the time. they find sows that have been part gutted and allowed to run away for the enjoyment of the hunters. these guys clean kill, and track whatever they have wounded to finish. they are proffesional and ethical. its the "weekend warriors" who go out hunting drunk, often causing damage to bushland, themselves, their dogs, not to mention the fact that what they are after is not a clean kill. thos bile farms are absolutely horrific. if u want i can go into what they do to brumbies and feral goats out here but my stomach is churned enough. it seems primates in general have an ability to find enjoyment in causing unnecessary pain and suffering. i mean watch a chimpanzee doco if u think humans are barbaric.

Man, I gotta say one of the best things about having kids is rediscovering things like Dr Suess. I think Dr Suess has probably had a bigger influence on my psyche than I've ever realised... I haven't really thought about it until now, but the way I draw and the way I rhyme have probably both taken some direction from latent memories of things like "The Sleep Book" and "One Fish, Two Fish" I've been really getting off on Fox in Socks recently and thought I'd share this interpretation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQnMd0eQvHg

Remarkably so. I've long thought there might be some relationship between the PC and these two Bolivian species, especially when you stop to consider the similarities between the PC "pachanot" and T. riomizquensis. Additionally, T. riomizquensis comes from central Bolivia and the Department of Cochabamba near the Rio Mizque (southeast Cochabamba), and is situated between the T. scopulicola of O'Connor Province in the south, and the T. bridgesii of the La Paz region in the north. I lean toward thinking the T. riomizquensis and the PC "pachanot" are variations of a intermediate between T. bridgesii and T. scopulicola. ~Michael~

Yes I was being sacastic. I do accept this could of offended you. You did however play down some of the ideas presented based on the fact it was released by the chinese media first. The fact that the article was lead by that statement should be enough to raise some skepticism.

Timing - Are you serious. It doesn't matter what reason I provide you as my association to "conspiracy theories" automatically dis credits my opinion. According to Tripsis logic. I'm not looking to start a fight, but I'm not looking to take shit either.

Nice one. (edited). I never said it was propaganda, your logic of, "its from chinese media so TI theory s Bunk" is just (edited). You need to keep an open mind. Prove to me that this heart tugging story isn't (edited) (edited) Edit> Post edited to remove nasty tone and insults. Although I still hold the same opinion, my state of mind at the time has lead to more nastiness than was needed. Peace

You implied it was propaganda Bacon, you didn't have to state it outright. With that said, I'm not getting into a argument with you.

Mother bear kills cub and then itself AsiaOne Friday, Aug 05, 2011 The Chinese media has reported on an extraordinary account of a mother bear saving her cub from a life of torture by strangling it and then killing itself. The bears were kept in a farm located in a remote area in the North-West of China. The bears on the farm had their gall bladders milked daily for 'bear bile,' which is used as a remedy in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It was reported that the bears are kept in tiny cages known as 'crush cages', as the bears have no room to manoeuvre and are literally crushed. The bile is harvested by making a permanent hole or fistula in the bears' abdomen and gall bladder. As the hole is never closed, the animals are suspect to various infections and diseases including tumours, cancers and death from peritonitis. The bears are fitted with an iron vest, as they often try to kill themselves by hitting their stomach as they are unable to bear the pain. A person who was on the farm in place of a friend witnessed the procedures and told Reminbao.com that they were inhumane. The witness also claimed that a mother bear broke out its cage when it heard its cub howl in fear before a worker punctured its stomach to milk the bile. The workers ran away in fear when they saw the mother bear rushing to its cub's side. Unable to free the cub from its restraints, the mother hugged the cub and eventually strangled it. It then dropped the cub and ran head-first into a wall, killing itself. Many TCM practitioners have denounced the use of bear bile in their treatment as there are cheaper herbs and synthetics that can be used in its place. Bear bile is traditionally used to remove 'heat' from the body as well as treat high fever, liver ailments and sore eyes. Source. See the actual article if you want to see more photos...

It was the Chinese media that reported this TI, so I don't think your idea holds water. Incog, that attitude is fucked. One wrong doing does not justify another.

Even if the story is true, I don't have to provide proof of the axiom that it IS politically well timed. It is most probably dug up from archives. Why would you discount this as a likely possibility?
