@Gimli The obtusifolia and acuminatas have grown a little more enthusiastically than expected since giving them a more permanent home to stretch their legs... er, roots. Thank you

I will have some giveaways at the meet

#1) 1x grafted Lophophora williamsii var Jourdaniana - There is a catch. Any and all seed it produces must be put on the forums as a giveaway!

#2) Tricho seedlings and cut - 2x Pach 'Fields' x Peru 'Sausage', 1x Peru 'John' x Bridgesii 'Ben' and 1x Peru 'Sausage' cut

#3) 4x Catha edulis seedlings

#4) 1x Acacia obtusifolia plant

#5) 1x Acacia acuminata narrow phyllode plant 2ft and bendy

#6) 1x rooted and leafy green brugmansia cutting

I'll get you to write your name/site name on a bit of paper and chuck it in a hat for pick of the draw. I will pick X names. If your name gets picked, you are then ineligible to be chosen for any other item(s) in the giveaway list above. Seems fair :)

Hope to see you all there :)

Guess we should pick a time? Say 11am?

Sunday, 11am @ Mill Point Road Car Park (UNDER THE NARROWS BRIDGE) - LATE MINUTE CHANGE DUE TO POSSIBLE SHIT WEATHER

Big ups to everyone who came down! Nice turnout of around 15-20 people!!

Was absolutely surprised at that many people showing up just because Perth events seem to have been small in the past and the crappy weather didn't help!

If there is that much interest, perhaps we could do an early spring meet?

Until next time...

I hope you can read my writing on the labels. If not, send a photo and I'll translate for you

On that note, what would people say about a Spring meet, Sunday 23rd Sept? The Monday is a public holiday. Hopefully the weather is nice. Perhaps @Mapacho can make this one :P

Wondering what I can giveaway at this one.. :)

The next meet should be at the park with the markets so we have a choice to buy ethnos too

Would anyone be interested in a camping weekend? After seeing a recent post about a similar event in the east, sounds like something we could do here in the wild west. There is a long weekend coming up in September, the weather should be nicer when it rolls around

A weekend in the bush with a focus on sharing of knowledge and plant materials etc

Thoughts/suggestions welcome!

The post in the SAB facebook group has a few more people interested in such an event.

How far would people be interested in going as far as distance from Perth metro area and (if required) a small payment for a campsite?

1 hour?

2 hours?

4 hours?

1 hour:

Avon Valley National Park (has a few different campgrounds of various sizes, including an old gravel runway which we might be able to use) - $8/pp per night, $13 per vehicle

Perhaps even an old doof site down Brookton Hwy or up near Sawyers Valley - free

2 hours:

Dwellingup area (suggested in the facebook group)

 - Stringers - $8pp per night

 - Tony's Bend - $8pp per night

4 hours:

Pemberton area (also suggested in the facebook group)

 - Warren - $8pp per night

Other:

Private land owned by a member is another possibility

There are other campgrounds which could be added but they are ones which get VERY busy come spring and require advanced booking

@Gimli great idea bro, I'd be keen

Last camping trip I had in WA was at dwellingup, hard to beat, awesome spot for a kayak too,

Always keen to try other spots too :-)

Due to laws stating it's illegal taking plants/plant material into national parks and reserves etc and the high likelihood of rangers coming through with the possibility of fines

We can either:

1) Look at private properties
2) Just have a normal meet in the Perth metro area

What is everyone's thoughts?

Got some stuff for giveaways too :)

#1) Tricho seedling pack: 1x T cuzcoensis 'Murray Bridge' OP, 1x Peru 'Goliath' OP, 1x T bridgesii 'Psycho0' x T bridgesii 'Sina'
#2) Tricho seedling pack: 1x T scopulicola, 1x T bridgesii 'Psycho0' OP, 1x T pachanoi 'Yowie' OP
#3) Psychotria spp plantlet pack: 1x 'Nexus', 1x Viridis 'Luna', 1x Viridis 'DW02', 1x Viridis 'Brazil', 1x Viridis '70s strain'
#4) Brugmania 'Frosty Pink' cutting (rooted)
#5) A few packets of various trichocereus seeds
#6) There is no 6. This is my encouragement that others do their own giveaways :)

Might have more by this time. Still looking at the long weekend of September, 22-24th
