Popular Post nrivers
It has taken me three years to get to this stage. My motive was to get my collection into a landscaped garden. I live in a sub tropical environment, so drainage was my main goal. I thus raised all garden beds by making gabion rock walls out of old gal fence panels and a few new gal wire sheets. I dug the garden beds out and ran ag pipes underneath and connected to the storm water and covered in 20mm aggregate and a free draining soil mix. So after 14 tons of stone, into the gabion walls, driveway, letterbox and spiral pier this is the result. Hope you guys appreciate it. Cheers

nrivers
For the path i was thinking railway sleepers but the price is excessive. So i have just pulled down my old hardwood fence and it looks nice and rustic. So i will lay down some joists and run them on top. Would you believe those big barrels were at a friends house she was leasing, and wanted them gone, as for kids, and the landlord said she could get rid of them so i generously help them out

shroomau5
I love the gabion too. Im starting some this weekend. Do you have any tips or things you learnt that you didnt think of when you started?Great job nrivers!
nrivers
My only tip is, for a better look place your rocks in, with desirable face to the front and wedge rocks behind to keep in place. Just throwing them in is quick, but you end up with large voids. It is a patience game
shroomau5
I will be honest. My gabion is not going to look near as perfect as yours. I have 9m x 1500x800mm to do abd I have a time problem. I already told boss I'm not stacking them:)I won't show her your pictures. Edited May 15, 2015 by shroomau5
