FancyPants Posted February 3, 2012 Awww cute!! I miss my pet rats Even my hardass dad loved to have my little sweetheart Buffy sit in his jacket pocket with some sunflower seeds :D She would run from wherever she was roaming to come to the sound of the shaken seed bottle.
incognito Posted February 4, 2012 I didn't mind my rat I had, asides for It's tendency to occasionally bite. They have teeth like chisels and. An be untrustworthy nasty little cunts.

fairy Posted February 4, 2012 FancyPants - Buffy is an awesome name, I'm a total Buffy geek. Ours love sunflower seeds too, they push their hands in each others faces whenever we give them any, trying to get as many as possible and not let anyone else get them haha, but with other food they always share. Incognito - Really? That's crazy, we've found them to be the most gentle natured creatures. Ours have never tried to hurt us intentionally and when they bite it's cause we have food on our hands that they're getting, and it feels like kisses not bites. The only thing that ever hurts is when they crawl on us and slip, because their nails are fucking sharp.

ThunderIdeal Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) wood rat represent. i do like rats but they're a bit boring to get out of the cage i reckon. from what i've seen, they have a few activities when they're in their cage but once out of the cage they just seem to sniff around non-stop? maybe i haven't observed them enough to get into the mind of the rat. also, rats have alarmingly large balls, and when they're on you, you can feel their alarmingly large balls dragging along on yor clothes/skin. can anybody handle having a rat on their neck for more than a minute? i can't, their whiskers are way too tickly. fairy Posted February 12, 2012 Hahaha @ the balls comment. So true, their balls are sooo big it's scary. I guess they're kind of boring out of the cage, they do sniff heaps, but they just do funny/cute random stuff all the time, and they get more docile the longer they're out. I can handle them crawling on the neck/shoulders, doesn't bother me, but they usually don't want to stay still. Their claws are the only thing that bugs me, they're really sharp so when they crawl on you they can accidentally scratch so easily.

bogfrog Posted November 13, 2012 Is he inside a mini beanbag?
fairy Posted November 13, 2012 Nah it's just a bag like one of those coles bag thingies, with some ripped up tshirt inside. They like having somewhere cosy to hide when they're out of their cage
bogfrog Posted November 13, 2012 Lovely wee fellow. My stepsister kept rats, they would often be tucked around her neck snuggled up in her hair or down her top sitting in her cleavage lol. I couldnt get so comfortable with them, always been a fan of cats instead.
