Repotted a few and watered the fxckers for the first time in months (maybe 12 months?). It just started raining...

  • 2 weeks later...

This is the growth from 5mths since we last cut the OSP. I harvested another 15 quality cuts for grafting stock. Also the two main columns that will be up for trade shortly. They are my mates and he'd like to get some new genetics, the cuts can be 2m long if you can pick them up from 2500

Woke up to -6o F temps outside. Checked remote thermometer to see how warm the greenhouse managed to stay, only to find that the remote sensor was not communicating with the indoor unit. Fearing the worst since similar temps were too much for the heaters to keep up with last winter (which resulted in some damage and losses), I was very happy to discover that the greenhouse was about 40o F. Temps may have dipped a bit lower inside, but still should have stayed well above freezing. I'm really happy that efforts to better seal and insulate the GH were successful!

Now, since photos are always more interesting here are some of the GH back in October after it was moved, sunk in the ground, filled with gravel and repopulated.

with such a mild winter and 22c day / 17c night temps, increasing light levels and cacties beginning to grow...

I figured I'd water them ... for a week to simulate early rains in nature..

- strapped a few canes to a few benders...

straightened out the ixtlahuattle/olde loph tank and returned some cactical ops to it to keep the acacia's company,

sorted out the lights affixiation issue with some bolts, washers and foam strip...., and 4 clothes pegs :3 .

added the last few survivors of all my cactical seed sowing attempts to the tank a few days ago and they appear to be bouncing back thank fk.. -edit- no they're not, half have died already :/

lophs are enjoying a nice south facing bay window nowadays ...

...watered all the tricho collection and misted the huge terscheckii cut that I got from Greece that still hasn't rooted years on...

my 2 abbey brook clones of pachanoi that they've been growing since the dawn of time finally rooted, ...

getting signs of an early start to the year from the growth on the trichos so playing it by feel I decided to pull them out of any dormancy they may have been having.

watered a very thirsty bolivian terscheckii from a SABber and a very thirsty torresx2 that i got via 2 SABbers :3

those particular 2 seem to like being watered every few days judging by the mini droughts they keep making on their own personal set of stones ...
