A drawing I made this summer. I Dont own a decent camera atm so the photograph is a bit crappy. mostly I paint metaphysical fauvist landscapes focusing on dreamy atmosphere. Improvising black and white drawings is therapeutical. A3, Ink on paper.

I finished filling my best window sill with seedlings. I need a better system of stacking these, so I can fit even more. The youngest seedlings need about 5 layers thick of paper in order not to burn! The seedling thing has been going really well for me this year- it's a ton of fun. The bigger seedlings started getting fertilizer a couple weeks ago. They got hit again today. [ I also mulched some of my cacti. Here's a Peruvianus x Bridgesii cross... I think it's gorgeous. This is the only mature cross that I have in the garden as of now. This particular plant, in less than a year has grown from a 2 foot cut to an established 5 foot specimen- never had something grow as fast as this one. I just took several more cuttings from the motherplant a couple weeks back, who was hit by some grubs. Went around and re-labeled all my specimens. I used to use popsickle sticks- although they have a better look, they get washed out by the rain. Oh- I also got my hands on a bunch of nursery pots. 50x1 gallons, and 20 x 5 gallons. Should be enough to cycle the ones that I'm not ready to put in the ground.

Hello wonderful people's Today the account Olive has reached 300 positive trade ratings, this averages roughly to 1 documented trade every three days over the last two years. Exact figures are not known however I'd hazard a guess that it's prob double that if we also include the unreported positive trades also. Takes a special kind of effort to attain this little milestone of which we are very proud of. Trichocereus are an amazing genus that has captured this loopers heart , at oliveton we have gone to great lengths to build a very large collection which I imagine in the future to be a valuable resource, and not just an income source but a trichocereus cactarium where some of this countries best examples and 'blood lines' are free to flourish. So to celebrate our head swell we will be giving away a very nice box of trichocereus cuts and seedlings to a member on this, the worlds greatest ethnobotanical forum. To qualify for this giveaway you must have traded with Olive or Pimento (who? ) and of course left a positive trade rating. If you have traded and not left a rating then please rate and then enter this comp. If you'd like entry to the comp and have not traded with the 'O' then send a pm and let me know what your wanting and we will trade, items that are within the forum rules only. Get in quick though as supplies are low. Tomorrow this post will be edited with pics and a list of exactly what the winner will receive, a deliciously enticing collection of cuts and seedlings from the collection at oliveton. All you have to do to enter if you have left a positive trade rating for the account Olive or Pimento is to post a very nice pic of your favourite Trichocereus from your own garden, it's that easy............... This comp will run for 2 weeks untill the 26th of November. The winning entry will be drawn by a random number generator, so the posts will be added up and the total from 0 to whatever the last entry post is will be the total that's fed into the number generator. If one of my posts on this thread or a non entry is drawn then another draw will take place and so on till a photo entry is drawn by the generator. Internationals are most welcome to enter if you have traded with O or P and left a positive rating but you will need to pay the postage, if your in oz I will pay postage. Am defiantly looking forward to seeing some magnificent plants on this the celebration of 300 positive trades Many thank you's great SAB - I look forward to updating this tomoz with some cool additions to your garden. EDIT - n here are the pics of what the winning entry will receive……………… (all plants will be sent well labeled) Seedlings- (pach x juuls) x TPM sausage x scop t. tereschekii bridgesii x (ss01 x ss02) validus x lumberjack macrogonis x helen paquensis x pach validus x juuls kk919 x TPM tereschekii x pasacana TPM x pach and the tip cuts bridgesii x scop eileen len bridges short spine paquensis x pachanoi and some TBM pieces. Got my first tattoo today, just a $50 walk in special for Friday 13th. Contrary to what I'd heard though, the outlining hurt a lot more than the shading.. \m/

Awesome! It's so rewarding for me to see the beautiful specimens people grow from my seed giveaways - and in the case of the 2015 hybrids I'm not in a position to grow them myself at my own residence - just don't have the right conditions.. So, I'll live vicariously through others Might set them up with Zelly in his foster care situation - in fact, the Achuma Protection Agency (APA) would probably insist on it if they found me trying to grow these seeds out with zero hours of direct sunlight available at my apartment over the winter.. -- One thing I'll add - while I don't have an issue per se with people selling these seeds, or selling the resulting seedlings - I would encourage people to bring a generous spirit to such transactions.. To offer very favorable terms, less than what one "could" get.. To have the spirit of achuma in mind and spirit in such transactions.. I only bring this up because it was brought to my attention that there were some cases, after the 2012 hybrid seed giveaway, of seedlings being sold on Ebay within the USA for super high prices. Somebody or somebodies had grafted their seedlings and grown them into nice little mutant specimens, and was then trying to sell them for very high prices on Ebay. Lol, it's obviously pretty low and dishonorable to price gouge on something that was received as a gift - and most all of our community knows this. So, I mention it in case we see someone else selling these seedlings for high prices - if such behavior is observed on ebay or elsewhere, feel free to correct the other person however you see fit ;)

thank guys and gals. I think life actually loves me because I have used and abused my body for over a decade on hard stuff and negative behaviors. but sadly I keep up doing what I'm doing to myself or I'll end up in the ground with my mother and father who also passed away young from brain aneurysms. life is beautiful. death is harmony. but I've got two daughters that need me and I want to be around for them. damit thanks guys for your concearns and wishes. hugs out to all. be safe friends. wert.

It would almost seem, that this enigmatic plant prefers to grow 'between a rock and a hard place'! Excellent photos, inspiring. Thanks all!

I've had this one since 2012. It's my favorite and often get complimented on it, despite people often mistaking it for a pumpkin lol. It was done by a guy named Fred Baines at The Piercing Urge. Sorry for the average photos. Thought you plant heads would appreciate it. Cheers

Nothing "qualifies" it besides my own belief in it's affinity, and I've not made any "determination." I've been fairly careful to point out my suspicion that two plants that came into my collection, one as T. pachanoi and one as T peruvianus, were questionably T. huanucoensis. These were compared to T. huanucoensis I got from Sacred Succulents, and to the plant at the Huntington. If I've mistakenly lead others to believe that my suspicions were not suspicions then I apologize, but I suspect you haven't asked me for similar justifications regarding the many plants I've told others were T. cuzcoensis even though not bearing that name because even you take some value from what I say. And lastly, I don't speak to sway, I speak to share my thoughts and have never imposed them on others or demanded my thoughts take precedence over others'. If others believe my positions then that is on them, not me, but I will not restrict my joy of sharing because I lack all certainty. ~Michael~
