Thank you everybody! It seems that I am too new to like all of your posts. I will eventually. AZS, that is a gorgeous SSO2! I used to have a 4-ribbed bridge. It grew an extra rib. Here is a low quality pic of my pot o'juuls (jewels). A bridgesii and a pach are in the background. When I get my camera, I will post better quality images.

"Trichocereus tacaquirensis TB 551.2" from SuccSeed. Mutant, would you say this is var. wilkae, or not, or is it still too early to say?

G'day all! I'm in the pemberton area of WA, wondering if anyone has any knowledge for uses of local saps etc? I'm keen to try steaming and collecting my own eucalyptus oil, and I've failed to extract pine pitch from some pines we have (I made charcoal instead, whoops!) I've heard that local red gum saps used to be used for tanning animal skins, but I have no idea on the details of use. Edit - I don't mean medicinal or psycoactive properties at all, but practical applications such as sealants or gums, waterproofing or uses in tanning etc. Random things like that!

I really don't see how it's ebays problem. Still lots of listings I can buy that are os? Certainly no mail from ebay saying such things? And idk why they are so strict but we have had some bad experiences lol ie cane toads. I remember reading that thread about new laws I think it all worked out as know one has raided my pantry and arrested me for using nutmeg on my apple pie.

All: Peace, ho! Let us hear him. Anthony: I come to praise, not to bury, the shoddy and the rooted - To lament for the passing of those men, Safari suited, Who'd flatten you with mindless glee when they got really newted. Behind the bottleshop you'd see the roughest justice done: Yeah, it was assault and battery - but with a sense of fun, And a drink together after, when the ambulance had come. Who would have thought you'd ever miss the barmaid's brutal snarl And guys looking at you strange while she says, "What's yours, darl?" "Wanna go?" is all you recall, before the blow and grand mal. "You gotta fucking mouth on ya," those moustached yobs would say Back when being literate was something to hide away And being mediocre meant you played in the V.F.A. But now everyone is talking, and it's oh so tres witty: All those fucking D.J's and their flashy repartee - It's always breakfast down in Hell, and radio compulsory. From McGuiness to McGuire to Douglas fucking Aiton There's a whole new type of person that's takin' over this damn nation: And I'm not talkin' some racist crap about Asian immigration - If you're a yobbo now, you're rooted; no one says, "I'll 'ave ya, pal" - Listen to Adrian Martin, Jon Casimir, et al: Excellence is demanded, or the critics give you hell. Everyone's got a fucking voice - there's personae right and left: They must learn this stuff in school: I mean, what fucking next? Even the E.G cadets crap on, then move to the London desk. Who needs another columnist to point out that the thing 'Bout living in the suburbs is that it ain't like Berlin? - Just in case all of you in Melton were ever wondering. I tell you what can get fucked, and that's fucking them for starters: If there's one thing we just don't need, it's another mouthy smartarse Slagging off the guys who wear footy shorts and zappatas. You know who we've swapped them for? People who say "rad" And blokes who go round reading books on being a modern dad - Why, everything's so cool these days, I can't even understand Telstra ads. Excellence surrounds us like a fucking voodoo curse: There's Helen Garner's sister's book; there's all of modern verse; There's world's best practice, and business men talking terse On mobile phones on a mobile net that reaches round the earth; Everything is excellent: nowadays, there's nothing worse Than saying "I don't give a shit": you'd be in a fucking hearse Driven by some consultant git who's analyzed your system And wants to fully integrate you into modern wisdom: He's gonna take you by the balls and flush you down the cistern. You know what killed the Anzacs? It weren't the fucking Turks, It was the Australians coming after them talking up the perks Of fucking multi-skilling and how the Internet fucking works. So give me back the good old days, though I know they really stank, When everyone could seem to tell when you were talking wank, And we didn't all have to go around pretending to be Yanks. Give us back those great ideas that made this nation free, Like the end of season footy trip, and inefficiency, And if they aren't part of freedom - well, who gives a fuck? Not me. Why find voice now at this stage, when silence was just fine? Why learn to talk in coffee shops? It's a fucking wank, for mine. Coathanger one of these effete guys, next thing you know he's cryin'. The one thing good 'bout dumbing down is you're not so fucking smart; I thought Australia was the country that had a silent heart - It's time we just shutfuckingup. I know what. I'll start. ~TISM~

No to shoes. Yes to motorcycle parts and shiny bio-lab toys. What sorts of extravagance makes her happy? Outstanding expressions of traditional romance? Skydiving? Old books? Handmade things? Exquisite food or drink? If you're out to express your love and impress her and make that moment special we can narrow it down if you tell us what she likes

never tried ourhinos .. but i certainly will when i get the opportunity... and my supplier with the caupuri about doubled the price of their seeds samaras this year ... so umm,.. 'didn't bother until I find some a bit more affordable.. but last year all 10 caupuri sprouted and one by one died off with the final death 2 months ago .. i'm just sprouting muricata(cabi roxo in Brazil), white aya, alicia , for the 3rd year running ... -tucunaca doesn't need re-sowing , it's that reliable so far... This year I sowed them along with some banisteriopsis sp' sky blue and peruvian yellow caapi... Tucunacá appears, thus far; to be the easiest and very satisfying. I have 2x 2yr olds,.. here's one of them (also may visit your dreams the night before you see it sprout) Caupuri was ridiculously easiest and fastest to germinate, just a pain to keep alive.. Muricata seems the next easiest, 1 x 2yr old and just resowed 5 (also visited dreams and next am was sprouted) Alicia anisopetala (if you're that way inclined) scores pretty easy too and seems to have the power to resurrect it's self after being dead(at least twice in my experience) - 1x2 yr old and resowed again just in case and white aya failed first year, but i have 2x 1 yr olds left out of 8 and resowed again just in case i found them all particularly easy , just a patience game, ... in my rainforest box thingy. av temps are 23.8 - 32C (the day night cycle) but also dependent upon weather ... ~humidity at a constant 100% all year round... first year i germed in john innes seed 'samara' loam with fresh live sphagnum clipped into fluff .. and potted on to miracle grow compost topped with live sphagnum clipped etc, 2nd year i created a blend using charcoal, live sphagnum, sand, ericaceous, perlite, john innes seed 'samara' loam, DE kitty litter, ormus, .. and other goodies i forget... those 2 years the Rainforest box was in a sunroom/conservatory and had nice sunlight filtered by double glazing this year, in the home, i had to beef up the lighting to save the lianas [and the psychotrias] (didn't realize how much the sun aided us while growing in the sunroom) and I just used ericaceous with a bit of perlite and it's only been 2 or 3 days so far... i cant imagine Ourhinos being much harder to sprout than Tucunacá but i just don't know yet.. i only tried nuking the pots this year after doing a round of cactus sowings using the microwave tek and was completely unnecessary the 2 years prior.. as was the saran wrap/cling film/shrinkwrap/whatever you call that plastic stuff in your lands.. here's pics of this year's sowing and i always update in the "what did you do in your sacred garden thread" -I allowed the fungi that came in on the samaras to enjoy 2 days with the cling film on before whipping it off. and i have a few albums containing all my pics from every attempt at aya's but here's the main liana one http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?app=gallery&album=778 i hope this helps.. and give us a shout if I can help with anything further mate good luck , happy sowing and hope you enjoy them growing .. be prepared to retry every year with fresh seeds samaras until you achieve your desires ;) -and be prepared to over-sow in case of losses, although i began with just 5 seeds samaras of each and they did me really well, at a guess i'd say 80-100% germination rates..(except white aya with nil) 2nd attempt i tried with 10 packs. this year i went back to 5 packs except for the new sky blue one where i got 10 in pairs/3's so it still looks like fewer are sown lol.. - horsey p.s. if you end up giving the white aya a bash... : it helped to ease them out of their embryo coatings when they were sprouting.

I have to extend a big thanks to Zelly for being very hospitable a few days ago. I had a wonderful time. Also to Nitrogen for popping in for a chat for a while. It was absolutely fantastic to be able to meet you both. If either of you are to come to Australia I will very happily show you some spots and open my house to you. And to Highdesertcacti for providing some guest passes for me and Zelly to go to the Huntington. Wonderful place it is too. Could have spent longer there but they're only open for 4.5 hours on a weekday. I have LOTS of cool cactus pics to share with you all. And I will, but most likely not for a week or so until I'm back home and can spend some time resizing and uploading them. I am seriously behind on my SAB-ing so will get back into it as soon as I can. I will also be creating a mushroom thread to document the first 2 weeks of my trip when I spent much time in forests and had some great and exciting finds. Including a Boletus edulis, (porcini), on Vancouver island. I'm in Scottsdale at the moment, (near Phoenix). And am heading down to Saguaro national park and probably one of either the Phoenix desert botanical gardens of the desert botanical gardens at Tucson. We shall see how early I get up and get on with the day as I have a bunch of dricing to get done to complete my mission..... How's this for a pic from the kitchen window of the place I'm staying at? (excuse the overexposed pic - trust me, the view from the kitchen is amazing, multiple saguaros out each window, and every other window of the house!) And the Cac-Stang has been treating me well. Thought I'd get one of these as all the Americans drive them, (and by that I mean all the tourists rent them....)

Started a new tray of seeds I like to call Capt. Mutato! Anways their just Pachanoi seed that had a monstrose parent but for some reason I don't get any crests or mutations from my TPQC crosses, but to be fair I've only tried 2 varieteis and germed about 150 seeds. These I get 30-40% mutation rate. Sorry for pics and lighting gotta grab a proper flash for camera. I removed about 1o larger seedlings that were getting too big and some showed monstrose some not but all healthy. Then this is the rest of the tray in finishing school to go out into sun hardenning this week.

Hey Zed, sounds like a great trip will be ahead of you! Come back in one piece! Oh, and it may be a good idea to take pics of everything you see. Maybe you can write a little trip report (not that type of trip!) here or/and on the trichocereus website. I´d love to read about that.

the Huntington Botannical Gardens is a NO miss! I promise you, you'll be glad you went! If you can make it down to San Diego there are miles of cactus nurseries around the fallbrook area. have fun! edit: i believe hbg is larger then disneyland even, and the cactus garden is the whole east side of it...

Slow over winter for me, I don't have lights. They were happy on the windowsill, but they are hardening off outside now.
