gr33ntea
Here is a similar post i made: http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37294Austrocylindropuntia subulata f. monstrosa contains a bacteria Phytoplasma that makes it 'monstrose' as in pup from most of its aeroles. This infection spreads to only other opuntia plants through grafting, have tried it on lophophora, trichocereus and it didn't work.It has been successful with pereskiopsis, and so i am trying it with other opuntiasHere is the graft of pereskiopsis on Austrocylindropuntia subulata var. Phytoplasma (I'll just call it Phytoplasma instead of monstrose to avoid confusion for the time being)Here the Pereskiopsis Spathulata var. Phytoplasma are growing on their own roots. They have noticeably thin leaves, pup from most aeroles. Some of the later growth did not have the infection. So now i grafted a blue burbanks spineless opuntia on Austrocylindropuntia subulata var. Phytoplasma to see if i get similar results Mother Plant: I am also trying with the Paper Spine cactus (Tephrocactus articulatus)This monstrose cresting opuntia i forgot the name of Mother plant: And with this thin spineless and glochidless opuntia Mother plant:

Philocacti
I had 3 meltedwax infected with it. The pupping looked unpleasant to my eye. That being said, it made it easier for me to graft areols and miniature pups to pereskiopsis. I tried getting rid of it but only managed to save one and the other died. wert
Grafting is how ive tried to infect.Though in my teens i injected crystal meth into a san pedros growth tip to see what would come of it. Turns out sp's dont care about meth lol.

Solipsis
I recently tried this too with a Trich seedling.. If i compare it to one grafted on peres at the same time which looks normal, the one grafted on the "ASM" looks to be forming weird stuff on all of the upper areoles. If those are pups its too much to be normal. Idk if this is just a hormonal effect from being so close to the ASM and it stops working soon but im very excited xD Maybe mine has a different strain of phytoplasma?
