You know that Myrtillo monstrose that looks like boobies? Is it in Oz? I figure that I like boobies, and I like cactus. So it seems only natural that I would like booby cactus.

So I figured I'd just leave this here, in the name of balance (same idea as the "don't cha hate it" thread)..as much as I generally despise positivity But if anyone feels the need, thought I might get the ball rolling: Don't cha love it when...you wake up on a Sunday after a lie-in, and the first thing you do after checking your emails and hanging on SAB for a bit, is go straight back to bed for a nap?

Share your dreams (the sleeping kind, not the "I want a pony" kind)
gtarman posted a topic in Chill Space
So I wanted to share a dream I had last night, for no other reason really than it was vivid and kinda weird and I like recounting dreams. I looked to see if I could find a thread for that purpose but couldn't find any, and I thought that it would be cool to have a place for others to share dreams that they have as well if they feel like it. I think there's something otherworldly about the language and imagery of dreams, and many cultures hold them to be sacred and have traditions of sharing and examining them. I enjoy hearing the dreams of others as well, so please share yours here if you like. This was mine from last night: I was in a sort of version of something like the great hall from Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies, except on a weird scale - the table was huge and surrounded by water, with a group of people standing at the far end, and one person kind of floating in the air at the closer end behind a huge cat. He was demonstrating the correct way to kill the cat for eating, and he wrapped his finger around its neck like a trigger and then touched it on the back of the head with his index finger, and it slumped forward, dead. Upon seeing this, a figure in a long dusty coat at the far end of the table stood and shouted, "HEY! That was MY cat." and he shot these weird things out of his hands that were like crinkly grey metallic slugs toward the guy who killed the cat. The slug things pinned him to the wall and then things just sort of faded back into the shapelessness of the dream construct, and that's all I can remember now. -
Hey all. So we've decided to make it Sunday arvo at 3pm. Like sharxx said, PM for details.

Been a loooooong time since I visited these parts, but was in the neighbourhood and thought I'd say hi :-) How has everyone been keeping? I feel like I've changed a lot since I hung around here regularly, but for the better mostly. Hope y'all have been faring well on your learning journeys too!

What was your old username hashslingr? Seems like a bunch of ppl have changed since I was last here and they also seem to have done away with the feature that tells you lol, tryna work out who I'm talking to But thanks

Anyone headed in? Just got here, I might hang til 12:30 or so to see if anyone shows. I'mnot in the BBQ area, it was chockers with family types. Just sitting on the grass in the shade to the left of the path down

Black Knight is active. I was told to expect sedative effects but to be honest it was more of a mild stoned feeling. But it was definitely past baseline. YMMV though

Ah fuck hahaha mind = blown. It confuses me tryna keep track of all the usernames around here. Jolly good then

Alright, let's see if we can rally the troops then. Sunday 23rd meeting at noon, usual spot. Who's in? Nothink? Benno? Schoey?

I imagine there won't be much interest being Easter saturday, lotta folks with kids or just outta town. I'll be busy myself. How about next Sunday the 23rd though? Could be good for one last hurrah before it get's too cold

Bugger, this one slipped under my radar. Granted, my radar is not quite as finely tuned as it once was. Will have to keep my eyes peeled and catch you peeps next time!

Hey folks. So I was searching in vain for pics/info on T. validus. I remember someone posting somewhere photos and/or videos of a giant validus growing in the Fields collection coming up through a shed or something? Anybody got that link stashed away somewhere? And is validus being grown by anyone like some of the other Fields specimens? I was just googling cacti and I remember this being such an epic-looking plant that I kinda just wanted to see it again and find out if anyone has their own big ones coming along :]

Cool. For the really recalcitrant ones it sometimes seems like nothing short of a nuke will do it...but I had one a while back on my foot and one of the treatments I tried was asthma plant (Euphorbia hirta) sap. Although in the end I think it was the multiple applications of salicylic acid and freezing and debriding over a period of months that eventually got it...but who's to say the plant didn't have an effect...apparently Euphorbia peplus (petty spurge) is supposed to be good/maybe better too. Just didn't have any of the former growing near me, and there was never quite enough sap from the asthma plants to treat often.

Alright, let's pencil one in for the 11th then.

@Anodyne they're a cultivar of butter bean/lima bean...it's probably just a less commonly grown one, but I love em! -

Just adding one to the list - I've found that in the subtropics I'm really digging Madagascar beans - perennial climber vine, so only plant it once, I've got them in pretty shitty clay soil but once established I haven't watered them at all and I'm still getting loads of huge beans off it which seem to dry really easily for storage (good for survival sitchos I guess to have stuff you can store for hard times). Low fuss, hardy as heck and decent producer Also beautiful beans, speckled red and white. -
Are we thinking 22nd @ the usual spot? If so I should be able to show my ugly mug
