  1. I had a dream last night that I was taking part in a race around the Sydney Harbour Bridge. (That's right around - it was somehow circular in my dream.) I'd purchased some sort of vehicle for the race but at the last minute decided to take my (IRL) turbo-charged vehicle. I was certain I'd win. Strangely (if its not strange enough already) it was a bit of an obstacle course with all these market stalls selling clothing set up on it that had to be dodged. I persevered, but only got about 10% through the course when I was awoken to take a piss. I could swear that after getting back to sleep I went back to the same dream to battle on with the race. (This also happened a second time - pit stops perhaps?). To the best of my knowledge, there was no winner. (It was interesting to read in the news this morning that there was chaos on the bridge following two separate car accidents at either end - coincidence?).

    Phone scams

I've been getting an odd text message lately telling me "you were involved in an accident two years ago blah blah blah" and to text the word "CLAIM" to the number. Weird thing is that if you ring the number (from an unrelated landline of course) it is disconnected... how does this scam work? P.S. Spooge, your avatar is somewhat disturbing... unless, of course, that's you.
  4. Hi, I was given this cactus today. Can anyone ID please? Cheers CrayZ
  5. twas fun! I agree, Rookwood is very interesting and, dare I say, kind of... surreal. Maybe its just being surrounded by so much death that i've been strangely introspective all afternoon. Certainly easy to get lost in... (I wondered if anyone saw me drive back past 10 minutes after i left ) Hope you all made it home OK. [toast?] And thanks for the beer Hillbilly - it hit the spot on such a warm spring day. (anyone else get sunburnt?) I'll post up a few photos once i've vetted them. Oh, and I didn't watch the footy after all. Shit bores me to tears.
  6. yep. im good with: freakazoid, the...dood, glaukus plus... presumably, nicsplash?
  7. and just to reiterate: I will be at Lidcombe station 9:30am for those that need a lift... silver Forester, beige cap, sunglasses (unless its raining), weird, lost expression... I'll leave at 9:55.
  8. I don't mind swinging past Lidcombe station at 9:30am and giving a lift either. Presumably, you don't drive a bus Horus.
  9. ^ Lol - I saw your comment in the Activity stream Change and guessed (correctly it seems) that you were talking about King Gizzard...
  10. that last graft is truly inspiring. I might have to give that a go... (TBM? grafted onto ???)

    Psyfari!!!

You and your crew did some brilliant work on the stages altenate although I'm not sure which was Zoolu and which was Life Cycle... The one down the back (Life Cycle?) looked completely different by day (I could've sworn it had a roof ).

    Psyfari!!!

I'm happy to report that Psyfari is alive and well. What an amazing experience. Three days of partying and I saw zero angst; only friendly, positive people.

    Psyfari!!!

Undercovers? Now you've got me even more apprehensive than I already was. What do they hope to achieve? Thankfully, I do have a designated driver and she's clean as a whistle god bless her.

[bump] anyone going this year? i'm a doof virgin, but have committed this year.
  15. Works for me too. Very well researched Horus. October 1, no kids; O1nk.
  16. 24th September works for me too. Can we lock it (or another date) in? I pondered bringing the wife and kids too AbleKay. It might be awkward though and in some way limit/obstruct my sociability so I'll likely opt out unless there's a general consensus to do so.
  17. I can make September, but how about the Saturday of the October long weekend?
  18. I got something called Dragon Age 2 with a piece of hardware i purchased. It's pretty mindless scripted single player adventure and quite tedious/boring after, I guess, 20 hours of playing. From time to time, however, my female character does hook up with some of the other female characters in the game for sex... interesting. Not really though; more of a clothed, rendered, virtual grapple on a bed in silence.
  19. I read. At the end of the day it's probably just another form of escapism though...
  20. vaping is a much better option rather than smoking for lower doses - and healthier too. a magic flight launch box is a (relatively) inexpensive unit. having said that, weed is most certainly not everyone's cup of tea. speaking of tea... chamomile?
  21. Is there such thing as a limit? If you've got it... tug it. As long as there is an understanding that porn online and reality are (generally) poles apart. I guess I am concerned that many young people, males especially, are not able to make the distinction. Perhaps young females might also get the wrong impression of sex so that too could be a worry. I also think it can build a kind of... tolerance? ie. sex doesn't interest you unless it's hard core. But, generally, like others said, if it's not impacting negatively on anyone, including yourself, then its all good.

    Detox advice

I doubt there is any easy solution. I agree with eth, baccy and grog will be the hardest. if you've been mixing your weed with tobacco then that will be right up there too (at least it was for me). Fortunately I gave up tobacco (the first time) back in 2008 and drinking has never been my thing - something about the hangovers. When I went completely straight back in February (you might remember me spouting positive at the meet about feb-fast) I discovered, after about a week, how much I liked the clear head and being able to get up a lot easier in the mornings. And whilst i've never put much credence into the ED properties of weed (hell it never stopped me in my youth) my sex life also received a boost. I use my memory of that time as inspiration for my current dry-july abstinence. I also enjoy the crazy dreams too (who needs LSD?). What worked wonders for me was coming onto this forum and participating as much as possible - as boring as I am. My post count pretty much tripled in the space of a week. Lots of good positive, understanding people here willing to offer support in whatever little way they can was a godsend. (Come March 1st though my post count nose-dived). I also read books a lot more - so distracting yourself by participating in your 'other' interests is well worthwhile. I guess what i'm, saying is that it will probably be sucksville for the first week and i'm not sure your sleeping habits will recover as quick - I got some slow-release melatonin (Circadin) which helped and a touch of xanax for those really difficult periods. (Xanax, for me, is not recreational at all but avoid it if you think it could be an issue). What deterred me in the past is that I was worried I would become one of those 'reformed' users rabbiting on about how my life 'is so much better now' and that I would 'regret my past life'. Perhaps i did, for a bit, but it was only temporary and I haven't become someone else, but I feel I have grown. Hang in there bro - baby steps.
