    What's on your agenda today?

I sowed a bunch of chilli seeds (3 types: birds-eye, flying saucers, habanero) + carrots + lettuce and painted mountain corn. Also repaired the edge of the front lawn the postman has been driving over (to save himself from taking a single step out of his buggy ) and also the nature strip where the council pickup guys figured it was ok to back up their 4.5 tonne truck after weeks of rain. Planted a small fat (unnamed - ahem @Glaukus) peru in a spot that got smashed by two big pachs that toppled over recently.

  4. Went to Melbourne on the weekend and spent a morning wandering through the gardens. I was very impressed with the cacti and succulent collection and thought i'd share a few photos. Not sure what this is but it looked interesting and an intriguing Acacia and a little art to finish from AC/DC lane

    Spores to Syringe

^ sterility is key. Put the clean shot glass on a baking tray, cover it with a larger glass, chuck it in the oven and heat to 130C for 10 minutes. Remove and allow to cool. You can then remove the covering glass when you're ready to go.

    P.eucalypta maybe?

No blue. No fibrils. No veil remnant. (No dark purple spores). Looks more like a Cortinarius to me.

This section needs a "show wild finds" thread

I took my, soon to be, 88 year old dad out for a picnic down the south coast recently. He spotted these (although I knew what they were). And the kingfisher (best/only shot I could get). The irony of how much more beneficial these might be in comparison to the daily anti-depressants he takes was not lost on me. Perhaps 88 is too old.
  11. Now ya fucking talking! I'm down. Oh shit I cannot make it.
  12. The wife says shift these damn cacti: Eileen $30: Cuzcoensis $10 and $20: LMP $40:

    Mushrooms shown to treat depression

I find the above statement detracts from an otherwise excellent post.

    Wild cubensis with different properties

They just look a bit old and dehydrated mate. I imagine they were probably pretty 'airy' to begin with considering all the rain down here.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-02-09/kava-drink-set-to-be-imported-into-australia-in-commercial-trial/100686204 this story had the dumbest title: "Fiji's kava root has a similar effect to Valium. And it's about to be on Australian supermarket shelves" Valium...
