caapi in SA

Recommended Posts

Thanks Planthelper, I will keep it outside then, but sheltered with the humidity dome etc . It's looking very good today still growing despite it being cold at night, so will cross my fingers that it makes it through a cold Adelaide winter.

Thanks, good idea I will do that when I re-pot it.

Its currently on top of a hot water system with my seedling trays so stays nice and warm.

here's my little plant(she's the one on the right, hbwr on left) this is her first year so we'll see how she copes with the cold, just getting over a large attack from leaf cutter bees :ana:

Looking good Moses! Lots of growth in the first year, it's obviously liking the location.

I've just planted out another in a less protected area but with much more sun. The protected location I think will work in the long run but I compromised on light.

She's branching out in all directions but not going up so much anymore, (the one in less light).

It's great to see so many doing well this far south :).

the caapi survived the winter a little tattered and bare but she's been re-shooting a couple of weeks now.

Wow Moses, she's looking good, and big!!

Can't say the same for mine which was totally unimpressed when I moved it from my hot water tank to a mini hothouse.

Not only have all of the leaves fallen off, it fell over in a wind storm and I since discovered it has no roots at all.

WTF!!!!

It's still alive though I think. But for how much longer is anyones guess. :(

Mate I see you're new and just giving you the heads up, that salvia you said in your post is quite illegal so you're incriminating yourself buddy, I'd just edit and take that one little thing out ;)
