trichpach Posted April 15, 2013 @ trichpatch... Is that Lentil the sausage dog? Yep - sure is! and he only gets more cheeky as he grows up too. Hates winter tho the poor little guy - hasn't got enough fur on him to withstand the low temps! Seems to be fine on a winter hunt tho - must be the excitement of bounding around the forest with all the smells that keeps him warm :-)

Mycot Posted April 16, 2013 (edited) Non dog owners can get pissed off after they stand in one too many barkers eggs that have been left laying around the footpath, but that's the owners fault and not the dog. Not everyone has to own a dog, but i love my dogs heaps, they are my best friends... Dogz Rule, lol. Positive doggie comments only here please. @ trichpatch... Is that Lentil the sausage dog?hat I love dogs myself. And cats. And most animals, especially the wild ones of this planet and I love people. That said an excess dog population is unhealthy just like an excess human population is. While doodoo's can be annoying and unheighgenic what is more usually a problem is where dog owners take their pets through CBD districts often inconveiniencing people going about their business. Where there is little choice, fair enough, but it should be kept to a minimum. As far as comments that may be construde as negative little more needs to be said. This is a dog lovers thread and they have every right to enjoy it. And Bullit, chill out You don't do dog owners any credit.. mr b.caapi Posted April 18, 2013 Way too many people in our society have dogs. I am well and truly sick of it.
bogfrog Posted April 18, 2013 To be honest i am a proud cat owner but seriously, Trichpach, looking at that picture of Lentil makes my insides feel like they have transformed into candyfloss, sparkles and rainbows. And LENTIL!? Could there possibly be a cuter name for him? .. I think not
bogfrog Posted April 18, 2013 And to add to the doggy-debate, i agree that there are FAR too many people who arent responsible enough to have dogs, or any pets at all.. But of course they get them anyway. And more often than not the animal is doomed to absorb their owner's ignorance and bad behaviour. My friends are a prime example of that, their dog walks all over them and causes havoc wherever they go. Responsible and caring dog owners i have no problems whatsoever with, but sadly they seem to be a minority in our society..
Amazonian Posted April 21, 2013 (edited) This is part of the bush walk that i take my dogs on. We have to cross a small creek, but the Border Collie refuses to cross along the fallen log (branch). pic is a little blurry:( Edited April 21, 2013 by Amazonian
bogfrog Posted April 21, 2013 Do you walk across the log too Amz? Hehe great pic even if its blurry, i can see some doggy-personalities coming straight through
Amazonian Posted April 22, 2013 Yeah, i do walk across the branch, but i start at the lower part of the fork, and keep a hand on the higher branch, until i get to where the fork joins, then i step up onto the higher wider branch, take a few steps , and then leap to the bank, lol. It was tricky at first, but now its easy. As for blurry pics, sometimes if you wait to get proper focus, the moment has gone.
trichpach Posted April 22, 2013 To be honest i am a proud cat owner but seriously, Trichpach, looking at that picture of Lentil makes my insides feel like they have transformed into candyfloss, sparkles and rainbows. And LENTIL!? Could there possibly be a cuter name for him? .. I think not Hah - i'm glad you approve!! Yeah, most people get quite a chuckle when we tell them he's called Lentil. Even now, a year and a bit on, he's still a head turner. People always stopping to give him pats and marvel at his sausage comedic cuteness... I better put up another pic then.... errr.. a recent one.. here we go: Morning yoga with the sun dog... We call him the sun dog, since he has almost no fur and just lurrrrrrves baking in the sun.

trichpach Posted April 23, 2013 If my memory serves me correctly trichpach, you were going to get a play mate for Lentil and call her Patty?! Wow - impressive memory!! Yep - that was the plan, would still love that... just need a bigger yard. Because at present, most of the space is taken up with cosmic cacti!!!! AndyAmine. Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) I just had to add some pictures of a very special dog named Mr.Blonde.He belongs to fellow SAB'er Gem who came to live with me last year, she had told me all about her wonderful jack Mr.Blonde but to be honest, I had previously held a bit of a low opinion of JRT's and thought of them in much the same light as shih tzu's etc (ie: annoying little yappers) but my views were quickly changed after meeting Mr.B and his unusual ways and we formed a close bond in no time flat. He has spinal disease which flaired up after a tumble a few months before I met him and suffers troubles with his back and hind legs as a result but he doesnt let it bother him and is still getting more agile every day from what I hear. I tell you what, Gem has raised a really special little dog, One with impecable manners and a heart of gold. (most of the time, lol).He can be a little timid with new people and busy places but he takes even that on with gusto if approached the right way. A real star. The 3 of us did a lot of rehab and Ob/Trick training together and he has made leaps and bounds with his recovery. The feather in his cap being the infamous 'BANG, yer a dead dog" trick which he does with more drama and flair than Errol Flynn!Looking forward to seeing them both again soon.
