GingaNinja Posted March 9, 2010 some pretty nice growth rates man. hows that watering system work for ya? I have thought about something similar but ended up with eveything in the ground
GoOnThen Posted March 9, 2010 Thanks for all your kind words I have put some names up in the first post I will try and do the rest shortly I love the fact I can see changes in my cacti all the time pups popping out and some of the growth rates are amazing The retic for me is a must have it’s not the neatest around but it was free and it works really well The drippers are a commercial product that I acquired second hand (got to love family in the horticultural biss) I normally run 2 - 4 drippers per pot to get a good coverage The retic runs 2 - 3 times a week plus one day hand watered with ferts I’m going to sow a heap of different seeds over the winter and im building up grafting stocks so I think my addiction is well in check Cheers Got

GoOnThen Posted March 10, 2010 Ok the big blue Peruvianus is known as the big blue sucker The cutting was from a Perth member who I haven’t seen on here for a while This is a quote from one of his posts about this plant which he believes came from the SAB store I cannot find the name for. It was offered for sale ~ 3-4 years ago and it was a little more $$ due to the degree of blueness that the clone develops - I'm pretty sure it had a feminine name. Perhaps Torsten could shed some light of the subject in place of my shambolic labeling system? At this stage I am going to continue to propagate this plant so I should have some pieces available next year I will try and contact the original grower and see if he can make any more cuts available Cheers Got
oxydiser Posted January 6, 2011 The big blue sucker is definitely 'Len' brought from SAB years ago
bogfrog Posted January 6, 2011 i love your azureocereus hertlingianus ( super spikey blue guy in the corner behind the red pot in the very first picture ) they are so beautiful. i was gutted i missed an 80cm one on trademe, went for $1.50!! funny how some cacti seem to be worth less once they are at the difficult to handle stage. great start to a collection, the bug has certainly bitten your ass!
