Once billed as the comet of the century, Comet ISON apparently was no match for the sun.

Images from NASA spacecraft showed the comet approaching for a slingshot around the sun on Thursday, but nothing coming out on the other side.

"It does seem like Comet ISON probably hasn't survived this journey," U.S. Navy solar researcher Karl Battams said in a Google+ hangout.

Just saw this ad on youtube - it's in the running to be the most despicably hypocritical load of shit I've ever seen.

 

Yeah, let's use the idea of living simply and non-attachment to worldly possessions to encourage more rampant spending and consumerism. It makes me sick how advertisers (and hipsters for that matter) are bastardizing real, worthy values and recruiting them to satiate their greed for money (or "hipness" in the case of hipsters).
