What did you do in your sacred garden today?
Ambient replied to theuserformallyknownasd00d's topic in Ethnobotany
Fresh suckers, all with at-least a few roots. Soaked in anti-fungal rooting hormone, trimmed back and potted up. I wonder if this ones variegated tendency will continue later on? -

I might even know a few people who could help run some tunes, if it's going in to the night

One of my mates is getting rid of a large portion of their ornamental cacti collection, many trichocereus sp. and a few others. For local pickup, cacti come with their pots and soil. For interstate, cacti will be sent bare rooted without pots or soil and postage is unfortunately not available to Tasmania due to quarantine. [Edit: all sold]

Yeah in WA, they'd rather just do local pickup, but might consider posting stuff to speed up sales if nothings moved by the end of the week. They sold a Tephrocactus last week with a bunch of other stuff, but it was tiny. Only other variegated stuff they have is some aeonium kiwi and I remember one of their Khat plants had a few variegated leaves on a runner at the the base, not sure if it's still displaying the characteristic or not though.. I'll check for you.

Hey everyone, I'm currently helping a mate of mine advertise some of his cacti, check out this thread if you are interested.

I don't have any seeds, but maybe I can help. Wattles flower in late winter / spring, then seed pods form around the end of spring to early/mid summer. Plant identification is much easier when flowers are present, so you should be able to get a positive ID relatively easy (if not just post some pics or send me a PM). Once you know where to look you could return to the previously Identified plants when they are setting seed. You have to be patient, but it's a sure fire way to get fresh viable seeds Disclaimer: I do not participate in or endorse the acquisition of native plant material through any unlawful means. That bridgesii on the top left is a beauty, a friend of mine has one very similar, maybe even a clone, but we're not sure what it's called *faceplam*. Whatever it is, the one they have grows super fast. Will be a score for whoever gets a cutting even if it isn't the same, they look great.
-
Sorry Kate, my mate is waiting for this one to pup before any clones are made.
-
Are they going around in AU? I've never seen any available, but very interested to add one to my collection. PM me if you can help, I have lots to trade.

Lucky buy bogfrog I took a photo of one of my mates cacti that could be semi monstrose... He thought it was just shifting ribs at first, but it started going weird again. Will be interesting to se how it goes during summer.

Cool, I wasn't aware of that, I might be able to broaden my search a little. I keep finding pics of the one I'm after, which gives me hope there is some available out there somewhere... Just gotta keep looking

Schweet man sounds good; you're back in perth now yeah? Almost got lucky the other week & thought I had found seeds for the exact one I was after, but their out of stock *facepalm* & they prob wouldn't have made it through customs anyway. Green Giant
