  1. Started making more BAP mix lately to use on my plants. At and since the last Perth SAB meet I have picked up a few crest revert bits (TPM x N1, TPQC x TPM) Chatting to someone recently has said that using BAP on crests will only throw reverts and these pups will not crest again (also a thread on shroomery but there is only a handful of replies). What is your experience on that? I have hit a number of crests (whole and ones that have been cut for graft scions) with BAP, noted the # of areoles and which specimens. I will keep this thread updated BAP: 19/10/2018: (Peru x Juuls) x TPM - 4 areoles Sharxx Blue x TPM - 4 areoles TPC x Juuls (grafted scion) - 3 areoles TPC x Juuls (mother plant cut for scions) - 2 areoles (this specimen already has 3 columnar looking pups emerging from when I cut it to pieces) I have another TPC x Juuls which is columnar with 5 pups (also columnar so far). I am unsure whether to let them live on the mother plant or remove when suitable for numbers purposes. (BAP mix is 10,000ppm - 1% w/w)

  7. Yes! As the title states, I am AUCTIONING off a Trichocereus bridgesii monstrose crest graft that I have. Sadly I am dead broke and need le cash money to... Well, to live. So this is the little guy right here..... And I've decided to let you guys fight over it..... The AUCTION ends.... let's say.... Wednesday 14th at 8PM Melbourne Time! So tell your kids, tell your wife and tell your husband and LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!!!!!!
  8. I will be adding a few cacti over the next few weeks to this thread, everything will be reasonably priced I'm not selling because I need the money just sharing the love If you are after Lophs rather than Trichos or own roots or cuttings etc let me know and I will put a few of them up, I've got too much of everything. First up; 1. Trichocereus Peruvianus Monstrose + about to Crest ( TPM X ??). Healthy plant, no disease or pests as far as I know, it is just beginning to take off with the warm weather. I really don't know what it's worth, the graft is pretty much perfect and once re-potted will put on some serious growth this season.... give me $40 + post and it's yours. If you wanna bargain go ahead.
  9. Are they going around in AU? I've never seen any available, but very interested to add one to my collection. PM me if you can help, I have lots to trade.

  11. Yaaayyy! Finally got validated... Greetings fellow Cactiphiles! So my first question is what are the different crests that exist? I know the basic Pachanoi, Peruvianus, and Bridgesii monstrose crests, but what are the more rarer(or lesser known) ones? I received a beautiful "Trichocereus Peruvianus X Juul's Giant" Crest recently. Never having heard of one before, and had true love when I first opened the package. The only other hybrid crest I have seen is a TPM x SS02. So what other hybrid crests exist? Also, does a Trichocereus Bridgesii NON-monstrose crest exist? Here's My Beauty! Cheers!
  12. hey guys so when i did my original crest graft you can see here http://www.shaman-au...showtopic=30694 i had to cut a small pup that was growing off an end of it to fit the graft onto the stock properly i wasnt to sure wat to do with it at the time and wrapped it in some newspaper hoping it might survive and i could figure out wat to do with it later not long after i got hold of some peres for some seedling grafts from a very generous member from here so last saturday i decided i would try my hand at grafting it to a piece of peres so its been a week today and all seems to be going great he's looking healthy and seems to have taken fine so im pretty happy with myself thats 4 grafts i've done and not one failed
  13. Hey all thought i'd share this little bugger i found this morning: It was IDd last year as either a T.schickendantzii (because of its clumping characteristics) or a spach. Here's what it looked like when i first found it: all the columns fell off while planting, it was very fragile, here's what it looks like now: And while im at it, there was some really shitty bits that i just wrapped up in a bag and forgot about, here's what the look like now: I do have a few questions about the crest, going to utse after work tonight but figure I'll ask the experts first Will detaching the crest pose any risk of it going back to normal? Would it be a better idea to leave it attached to grow some more, and possibly detaching the non crested pup so it doesn't have to worry about making that bit grow? Cheers for the help everyone, pretty wrapped ATM wasn't expecting to see that on my morning walk past
  14. so this is my second grafting attempt this time using a piece of the crest i got in PD's auction not to long ago its been about 6 days now and looking good it seems to have taken without any problems very small amount of orange on there but my first attempt was much worse so i dont expect to have any problems with it heres my first attempt for those who didnt see (http://www.shaman-au...l=&fromsearch=1) & heres some pics of the crest graft
