Hey Zelly. Sorry for not contacting you back. Ended up conversing with Jox prior to sale to him, and am going him halfs in costs/seeds. Shameless bump for Zelly. He is the man! Seeds arrived safely in recipients hands within like 5 days of posting, and that was with standard postage!. If inside Australia, and you require 'Mexicans' from outside of Aus, then look no further. CHEAP AND FRESH SEED...can't go wrong....Thanks again Zelly.

Hit em with tomatoe dust. (copper and sulpur and spinosad). The copper will destroy any bacteria or protozoa carrying around the virus. If its fungal(doubt it ), the sulphur will get it. Stops the spread of virus pretty good. Dont grow chillies, tobacco, eggplants, tomatoes or daturas or most other SOLANACEAE plants together to avoid big problems. EDIT: Mist leaves once then apply dust, then avoid misting leaves for at least 1 week, to avoid overly humid, problem-promoting conditions, and leave dust remaining on leaves. Keep and eye out for whitefly/thrips, and the ever notorious spider mite, which if not actually seen, can be noted by the early drying and yellowing of leaves before reaching maturity. Spinosad is a systemic miticide too.

A spike in heat, in such a small area, with enough moisutre to cause 100% humidty and still be wet, will cook a batch of almost any cacti seedlings in no time at all, and end up looking exactly like your ones. I suspect the coco was holding to much moisture, and should have been in the process of being vented daily, until almost dry, but still retaining 100% humidty. The only downfall of the take-away tek IMO ,is there is not enough ample air for circulation, and to draw up excess media moisture, as air-bound moisture. Only takes a very quick spike in heat to superheat even the air inside the container. Sorry to hear about your loss bro. Been there. Done that.

wheres all the damiana plants people? Is that one you've got left PH after giving incognito one or the one they're getting? Also keen to get my hands on one of these for cash/trades/sexual favors(only after damiana consumption). Even Torsten loses huge percentages of them over winter. Is it that the cold lets in the rust, or just flat out kills em? I thought the rust would be more prevalent in hot humid summer conditions? Any idea which rust it is? I Wonder if it can also get the new Myrtle rust, or puccinia psidii as well? It was only discovered in Australia(Northern NSW) April 2010, and has since been found to be jumping outside of the Myrtaceae family at an alarming rate, and has extended its range incredibly rapidly due to the spread of its spores. Full Host range is far from been identified in Australia. http://www.daff.qld.gov.au/4790_19788.htm

oi Myco.....grab yourself a can of Yates tomatoe dust next time your at bunnings. Copper oxychloride Sulpher spinosad(active constituent in Yates Success) *THIS SHIT ROCKS Organic, systemic, miticide & pesticide Sprinkle over everything! Sometimes I even leave my cacti looking green from the dust for a few days! :D I prefer to wash it off my actual little buttons though. Means the soil still cops a good drench, and seems to keep the fungas gnats at bay even in my hot house! I have been able to water much more heavy since using this product, as fungal and bacterial infections now seem a thing of the past. Except for small seedlings....they get a light neeming.

Golllum Its not the Beechmont Blues and Stomp festival is it? Because I have managed to raved many a night away at this supposed 'casual' bush fling. lol I cant do the rainbow dreads, but I got the patchouli & sandlewood covered, and jesus sandles and sarong.....that's just everyday wear ;) Darkspark the group grafting idea sounds awesome. I also feel like not trading anything now just so I have an excuse to not have pants on ;), but the plants must be spread, and so thy pants shall remain. I also volunteer to help create enough smoke signals, so etherealdreamer, may all our smoke blow south to you. Finishing off an assignment for my Diploma of Hort: Plant Health Management. Due thursday. After that I will be frantically trying to get my garden in order, so it looks half decent. .its early spring, so there is still a little unused space, where i have yet to decide what gets sowed for the season. Dam someone posted while i was typing this up!| EDIT: Yeah Gem just grab some farmers friends, or wild opium lettuce from your driveway on the way out, and we will let you keep your pants. But Andy.....that's another story.... As punishment for being an absent mod, I think he should be the delegated crazy nut to have no pants. We cant have my neighbors thinking that all entheo-heads are level headed people who like to sit around on a Sunday afternoon for a cup of tea whilst discussing Cacti and theories of Relativity ;) lol...jokes.....For some sick reason I was just reminded of the image I have stored of a pair of testicles with the word SAB on them.....now who the fuck was it again who is responsible for this messed up memory of mine? I'm thinking Incog/Pyslo/Marcel must have had some hand(nut) in this disturbing dedication to Shaman Australis Botanicals

Whoa.....cmon fellow gatherers of the Gold Coast @ the Corroboree....The chance to meet the infamous Jox, now who could turn that up! Oh this is going to be fun . Not just for GC'ers either, but figured there would be more GC'ers than northerners and southerners willing to attend. Gollum and Gem are we going to be graced with your presence as well? PM me for details you two. Gollum. I hear through the grape vine that you are just a stones throw away from me as well :D

Yeah Im all good to pick you up mate. The 'old's said I can have like 10 people round so should be sweet. Maybe a bit closer for most than Tamborine? Girlfriend will be there for a couple of hours, but if she gets 'overwhelmed' with all the entheo talk, she might head off lol. I will have a couple of little giveaways, and a bit to trade as well. Be sure to bring your seed cases people I will have some snags and bread and so forth as well to chuck on the barbie. Any other Gold Coasters free on Sunday? Whose coming so far?

I was watching all those pallets as well Jox ;) Forgot to bid on em. They went for ridiculous prices. $44 for 144 bags of 35L Debco cacti and succulent mix. Thats insane.

Which Selenicereus? For grafting and fruit?
2Deep2Handle replied to nitrogen's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Selenicereus grandiflora var. Cuba (smaller stock for smaller scions) Selenicereus grandiflora (bigger for bigger scions) Hyclocereus undatus Red dragon fruit (not the grafting one i beleive) Hyclocereus ?? Yellow Dragon fruit (fruit and stock?) Thats what im under the impression of anyway -
Goodluck on this one. I'm pretty sure a couple of members may have it, but its a bitch to grow, so it very rarely comes up, yet alone comes up for sale ? I think this is one of those ones that "finds you".

Photoblastism of Peyote: Germination of Lophophora williamsii submitted to different photo-spectrums
2Deep2Handle replied to 2Deep2Handle's topic in Cacti & Succulents
Thanks heaps mate thats exactly the kind of feedback I need. Changed it. Lucky as it's due on Thursday Yeah thanks Zelly. I will def take you up on your offer. Just waiting until i can get 300 spare coins so i can grab 1k of the Tex and 1k of possibly Jourd/Koeres/Dicep. Yeah germination's weren't that plentiful, but it may easily be something I did. Sowing your's will give me a good guide as to viability amongst the Genus.- 5 replies

Photoblastism of Peyote: Germination of Lophophora williamsii submitted to different photo-spectrums
2Deep2Handle posted a topic in Cacti & Succulents
Heres the paper I just finished on germinating Peyote under different light spectrums. Bit of a boring read, but ended up concurring with the thoughts that peyote exhibits positive photoblastism. ie germinates under light PhotoblastismofPeyote.docx Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.- 5 replies

lol one of my neighbours(about 3 years ago, coincidentally as i was just getting into ethnobotany) chopped down a bunch of oleanders, and decided to burn it in their household fireplace! Low and behold 1 hour after having the acrid smell waft into my own nose, I was greeted by the whirling of 2 ambulance sirens to take the 4 members of the family away. I thought Oleander was well known as a no go to burn and ingest, and even touch(causes rashes), but apparently there are still naive people around.
