  1. this post comes across to me that, there are two opposing forces active inside you. now all of us have those, but for most of us, we have a single direction we like more. I say this because, stating on one hand that, halus have no deeper meaning, for me clashes with your believe that our ancestors were higher beings. I believe you are a person who, comes back from a dmt trip, and than exclaims, so what, nothing really happened. for me even if it feels, you contacted outside forces, or become god for a while, or have an audience with god, I still don't believ it was really god or what ever, but I still learn an awefull lot of it, and become a better person from it. and I know that the god concept arose from drug and non drug induced halucinations. but it's true for some people halus don't seem to make any difference, whilst most people improofe there lifes after taking halus, some people just continue to live there lives as they have done before. my heart goes out to those people, and I think you are one of them.
  2. I start on working, on a cactus man project right away tomorrow, if I have your blessing. what a brilliant idea. I am such a boring old fart, that I noticed, i started saying the same things again and again, I hope I haven't said this to you. you art is really good, and although the topic of those pictures is quite removed from, the human image (maybe the cactus man is a small exeption), one can detect, your (the artist) spirit, soul and being in those paintings. I can't draw well, but I spent a lot of time in schools which featured many different drawing lessons, including technical drawings. my coolest art teacher, for example knew, that I only liked to draw plants, and nothing else. and guess what, he was such an alternative guy (although he was quite old), and he said, just draw plants than... anyway, with all what I have learned of my masters and mentors, I think you could even improofe your art by, drawing much faster at times, using strange new media (like chopstick painting), research what fracture means (improofe you fracture), and don't try to think when painting. this is all meant well, and I hope you are not taken back, by those remarks. you are talented, and could produce work that sells, I think you did those nice carvings as well, didn't you? I picked up some old ebony from vinnis, I will send it to you, with some cow bone, in case you want it...
  3. 1, this thread, hopefully will get torts attention, and he could than inform us of, all the copyright issues, the admin right and so on. 2, my aim is not to create a mirror site, or to work on taking over the forum. 3, I know we are in good hands with tort, and his aim is to keep it going, and I remember how he proudly mentioned once, "sab is the second oldest ethno site on the web". 4, all I want to save guard for is, if new owners of sab, would give up on the forum (tort would never give up the forum me thinks)that we can keep it still running. 5, I don't know about the financial cost of the forum, but I am confident, this money could be raised. all I say is, I can't imagen life without sab, and I have seen two forum die already. <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_sad.png handing on the knowledge is paramount in our aim.
  4. shameless, self promoting bump! <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png today, I feel, I got the biggest compliment possible, somebody told me, my song turned into an earworm for her! <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png this made we very happy, and i'm still riding the happy wave right now. as well I know now who trolled me at youtube, so everything is primo. I ask you though, in case you have an account which works at youtube to give me a thumbs up, and if you have the time, a short positive comment, as currently the troll is still, creating a bad impression, at this page, which I don't deserve. I have done nothing wrong to this person, he just simply did blame me for his own mistakes, and now he even stalks me, so he can abuse me more. if you read this "troll", I have no hard feelings against you anymore, I hope you will find peace in life soon.
  5. most of the time you edit a post, a field comes up at the bottom, asking you, "reason for editing", and what ever you write down in there, comes up as you see it. the field shows up once you click edit. but if you click full editor right away afterwards, you wasted your chance, as ther will be no such field using full editor. if you want to use this field and you are in need of the full editor, you have to >click edit> than change the post >click save> than edit again>click full editor> change title or add pics > click save more "small diy inventions", regarding gardening to come! <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png
  6. watertrade & snowfella, you guy's are awesome cameramen! looking at your pics, I will try even harder in the future, to get good pic's. did you use an artificial light source? next time shopping, I buy various pieces of fabric, so I got better backround. apart from that, I want to experiment with polarised light, sidetrack over.
  7. I only know sceletium, but it too has this salty flavour, thank god somebody mentioned this detail. my guess is, if it stinks, it's good! I once made a batch of sceletium, and it smelled like cheese, does your have a bit a cheesy scent?
  8. hi! I believe the sab forum, will never die. to make it immortal, what do we have to do? tort said, maybe he would sell at one stage sab including the forum. a new owner might, bring on changes, which is ok, but again how can we keep things as they are, for as long as possible? I would like for example have a back up copy of the whole forum, in case I am entitled do to so. how could this technicly achived? in short, I would welcome a discussion how we can make sab inmortal. we have lost two forums already, people did put in thousands of hours of work and research and now it's all been wasted... if sab shut's down, I might die, it's that bad, hehehe. <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png
  9. but not recommended for the hot tropics, unless over winter, as said... this thread makes me realize how, a german word inspires non german speakers, like a latin church mess in the old day's...
  10. T peruvianus 'rahuapampa' (iv got a lot of crests from these seeds) please, i'll pm you. will share, the spoils, in given time... "sab, the best place to be".
  11. i'm sorry to ramble on about my dyslexia, but it's time the dyslexic's of this world come out of the closet. I feel like I could be an educator about dyslexia... dyslexic's are great inventors, it's rumoured xxxx (suddenly no re call, I mean the mona lisa guy, no re call is as well a dyslexia symptom) was dyslexic!! here is my todays invention, a plant stalk ( later correction, should read "stake") for small leggy plants, whcich needs no tying up, AND allowes for lot's of movent so the stem will get strong and tough. this could be as well scaled up, or manufactured out of other materials (wire)... left all mistakes!
  12. you should have gone to specsavers instead! obviously, you did not employ my trick. not happy Jane...
  13. it's a skill to grow, vigorous plants in small pot's but it is possible. I had a 3m caapi in a small pot... small pot's dry out fast, that's the main issue, but if you fertilize (mix up indoor strength, than add 10 or more times water) with almost every watering, and you can water twice a day (or even more), when needed, it's possible. morning sun or dappled light is enough, otherwise evaporation is too big.
  14. seems our beloved friends are quite resilient. the firemen did a lot of hazard burn offs localy, and all of the "wild" cacti (optunia & co) survive those either scarred or they regrow from the bottom. I believe I have seen the same with pedros, they grow back from the base. extremely hot and durable fires will though kill everything, and this includes even, the so called fire resistant Australian natives. we had one of those fires localy, I guess the are should have been back burned more often... the area I talk about, is shaped like steep funnel... good to know, all is well at your place! <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png
  15. another, facilitating raping nature law!
  16. the rest went out today! if your transfer went through, after I looked last time, than I will send out to you, next Monday/Tuesday. I got still some good stuff left, so send me a pm, if you want. most specimens which haven't sold yet, will be sold in bulk soon.
  17. pyrolising is not a good method with kanna like materials, sublingual (1 to 3g), is better, imho. once it get's too strong, take the quid out of the mouth, once you feel "confident again", put the quid into the mouth again. a single quid can last you 1h or more... <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png
  18. I have posted 5 parcels today, and will do more tomorrow! a few people interested, have not transferred yet, so here is a reminder. <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png I got still some realy good stuff left, drop me a pm, if you haven't done so already, and we work out the details.
  19. gtarman, what you suggested, I tried even before, I asked here and it was not the way. I was talking about, what is called uploaders comment. but I worked it out now, and deleted it, it was a symbol next to my comment, clicking it gave a drop down list, and I clicked delete... wau, I thought every website must feature an email addy, but google doesn't have one, how ironic. <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png basicly, one cannot complain to google, strange indeed.
  20. thx! said to contain supinine. anyway the whole plant seems to scream stay away... AbstractTwo pyrrolizidine alkaloids, supinine and lasiocarpine, have been investigated pharmacologically. In confirmation of our previous results in mice and rats, a single intravenous injection of lasiocarpine was followed by acute necrosis of the liver of golden hamsters and a rhesus monkey. Hypoprothrombinemia occurred in rats injected with lasiocarpine. Single intravenous injections of supinine, on the other hand, had no hepatotoxic action in mice and rats. This alkaloid appeared to have a very weak atropine-bike action.
  21. I spotted this plant today on a bushwalk (at the road side embankment), it has to be out of the duboisia family, but I could not find it on the web. the flowers were blue and not white as with pituri, as well it was covered with "stinging nettle like spikes", which ouch, right away embedded themselves when I touched it. sorry for the out of focus close up of the flower. it was a small ~ 1m bush, not sure if it can grow much larger, probably not as it was in full bloom.
  22. my pc skill are just average, or less... i would like to edit my own, comment (the field which shows up on top of viewers comments), but can't find a way, how is it done?
  23. it could be a variegated seedling, and all of us hope it is! if it's shrivelled, than this would support our hopes. good luck for when you graft them.
  24. African violet, is a classic leaf cutting. here is a list: http://plantsarethestrangestpeople.blogspot.com.au/2010/04/list-houseplants-which-can-be.html
  25. my guess is no, sorry to say. it's not uncommon that some are green and some are orange in color, to be honest your "red one", grows far to well to be variegated. variegated cacti, don't grow well and are to my knowledge white in colour. will you graft them anyway? arios grow much slower than lophs, so I quite like grafting them anyway. if it is variegated, than it will only survive, if grafted (with very, minimal exeptions).
