I grow the Santiaguensis and it has a different rib structure on the new growth and fairly golden spines. It´s a monstrose version of a Spachianus and judging by the fatness of this, it´s very similar to the Lophocereus monstrose. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

0 zed240 Posted November 21, 2015 Share Posted November 21, 2015 The bumpiness and sharp angular look is what said L schottii monstrose to me but it's the spines that made me think otherwsie. All snug and hopefully warm as the temps dip tonight. I will try to remember and get a close up picture of the aeroles tomorrow. I was leaning towards L. schotii monstrose from the angular growth but thought it was more T. santiaguensis monstrose looking overall. I was told by another person that it is a T. santiaguensis monstrose just a different clone or a rare growth pattern perhaps. I will have to look more into it and bring some aerole pictures soon!
