Sallubrious Posted April 19, 2014 Can anyone point me to the passage in the bible that states we shouldn't eat red meat on Good Friday. Jesus was celebrating Passover on Good Friday so he probably ate lamb.
-RC- Posted April 19, 2014 Dogma and taboo don't really mean anything to me anyway. I'll eat what I want when I want, and in line with my own beliefs and family culture. Besides the fact I'm not a Christian...

paradox Posted April 19, 2014 happy pagan springtime fertility celebration..... that we celebrate in autumn as we're coming into winter & everything is dying back & shutting down. gosh our culture is so relevant. makes so much sense. no wonder we are all so deeply in tune with nature & the cosmos.
ThunderIdeal Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) sally, i'm not too knowledgeable of such things, but i had assumed eating fish for easter was a catholic quirk. various catholic practises are probably unsupported by the various variations of the one true scripture. didn't read into it properly but ishtar was a time when the farmers of south india could predict (by the presence of clouds maybe) what the next season would be like.
