I can still send you some to try out if you want incognito?

business is ticking along slowly, plant sales make it worth while (grafted lophs available ;) )

but I fear it will soon be all over with the new plant scheduling. :(

I had a shocker with mine.

I planted them on 24.11.12 and so far only 7 have come up (I'm not holding my breath for the others to come up now). The ones I purchased from you at the same time didn't fare much better.

We had a heat wave that began the day after I planted them & the temps in my house went over 40 deg for a few days after I planted them so I think they overheated.

I planted them in a mix of river sand with a bit of rock dust, like I always do. I made small holes about 2-3mm deep, put the seeds in the holes and didn't cover them. I normally get over 70% germination in the same mix with everything else the same except the temps.

I also planted a batch from another source at the same time using the same method and they didn't fare much better. They only had about 40 % success rate.

lol corn,

My mix is 80% sand, 10% coco coir 10% soil, with yellow pebbles,

no sterilization.

EG told me if i had some small sharp pebbles on top pf the mix it would stop algae from growing.

I feel the yellow pebbles give better vibes to my seedlings then normal dull looking gravel.

mine maybe the same as nothing up yet, still waiting with patience, but i have had seed see hotter days then what ive had and germinate,.i planted mine on the 20th/11 still nothing up..sowed the seed into a mixture of coarse propagating sand on top, and mineral soil mix of gravel, coarse sand and perlite underneath which is what I usually use to line the bottom of container(takeaway tek) for the roots to grow into.I used no sterilisation either.

keeping the faith they still germinate anyday now!

Sowed on the 29/11/12.

Takeaway container with 100% No3 (gritty) pumice sand.

Container was sitting on heat pad up until about a week ago, when it was apparent none more were germinating.

So the final tally is 12 that have germinated.
