niggles Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) Hi Folks, Im looking to get miracle berries growing as a potted plant in my collection. Would anyone have any seeds or cuttings they would be willing to part with? Can trade or provide cash. Thanks! Edited October 20, 2011 by niggles
sapito Posted October 20, 2011 If seeds are viable for around 3 months after picking I have 10 you can have
niggles Posted October 20, 2011 According to my quick web search: Q: I would like to buy Synsepalum dulcificum seeds. I've read that they have short viability.A: 1-3 months is OK if they kept in a plastic bag. They need to be scarified so water gets inside the shell. Germination rate is quite low, around 30-40%. Sounds like it would be worth a try!
Heffa Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) They are regulary sold on ebay, its just a little hard to find a reasonable price. It would be great if someone wanted to offer up some specimens for trade? Edited October 20, 2011 by Heffa

poisonshroom Posted October 20, 2011 If you have trouble with them then I could send you some fresh ones next time mine has some berries. It fruits fairly often, so they wont be far off

It fruits fairly often, so they wont be far off hey shroom, any tips on cultivation? i have a prebought sapling, and it refuses to grow since i got it several months ago. i put it in a new (bigger) pot and gave it some fertiliser a couple of weeks ago, and summer is coming so i hope it takes off soon. it's in a windowsill where it gets morning to midday direct sunlight. i don't have access to an outdoor space. to OP : i would give you a cutting but it's only wee small... Bread Filter Posted October 20, 2011 They pop up on Ebay from time as I bought one for a mate a few months back. Also on Ebay are the Miracle Berry "frooties" tablets. They are quite fun to muck around with when friends are over.

poisonshroom Posted October 20, 2011 Frank - Iv had mine for about a year and a half, and its extremely slow growing (its grown maybe 15-20cm in that time). I keep it in full sun and the leaves occasionally get a bit burned. I wouldnt worry, Iv heard elsewhere they are quite slow growing as well, so Id say its normal. Just fertilize now and then and it should be fine. Mine's growing in fairly sandy, pretty low-grade soil in a pot thats about 25cm wide. it seems to grow best when it gets a lot of water over the hotter times. Jonstn Posted October 26, 2011 http://www.daleysfruit.com.au/fruit%20pages/miracle.htm Anyone tried that site? Apparently it's pretty good apart from hefty postage if you aren't in QLD but they're selling them for 12.90 per plant in 140mm pot. Thinking of grabbing one myself this fruit sounds amazing!! Hope this helps
tripsis Posted October 26, 2011 Daleys is brilliant. I would never hesitate to buy from there. By far the best plants and packaging from any online nursery I've come across to date. Puts the others to shame, well and truly.
