Could any body identify these fellas'?

Question

Hey, I recently picked these two cacti up from a garage sale. The people selling them had no idea what they where and neither do I.

Care to give an ID?

some type of rebutia for the first one, i'd guess Rebutia muscula or a hybrid of it

i can't see enough detail for the second one, maybe a Dolichothele

Would also say its Rebutia. Second one looks a little bit like Coryphanta Macromeris. Or something close to that. bye Eg

I was also going to say some form of Coryphantha for #2, but not sure of species.

Surely you mean "cringe"? I cannot find "Gringe" in any dictionary.

The first one is most definitely Notocactus Scopa the variant (Many pups) has a few different names but in Australia most people call this plant Notocactus Scopa Var Prolifera

second one is hard to ID due to if being small/immature, but I think is most likely a immature Mammilaria Gracilis which is very common in Australia.

doesn't noto scopa have a woolly areole?

how do you tell it apart from Rebutia muscula?

I've been doing some study and it looks most similar to the following pictured cactus: an Echinocereus Hyrbid. Thoughts?

Edit: Echinocereus triglochidiatus var. mojavensis x E. albispinus (462A x 86)

Hi Herbalist, i am very sure its not an Echinocereus of some sort. I think its really notocactus scopa. No 2 could like moses indicated either be trichodiadema densum or some coryphantha. bye Eg

The first one is. parodia scopa v. marchesii. if the second one has large yellow flowers it is Mammillaria surculosa. somewhat rare and may be of ethnobotanical interest. I've been growing it for years but haven't experimented further yet. It used to be a dolicothele, which have been known to be used as peyote substitutes. (All according to the New Cactus Lexicon)

Seems as though you've ID'd it correctly! Now all there is to do is wait for it to flower.. But it seems as though you've got it right.
