fydesvindico Posted August 5, 2011 Police investigate Kronic death LINDSAY McPHEE The West Australian August 5, 2011, 6:46 am , UPDATE: Police are investigating the death of a 38-year-old man who suffered a fatal heart attack after smoking synthetic cannabis Kronic Black last night. At about 6.30pm the Hillman man was rushed to Rockingham Hospital suffering a suspected cardiac arrest. He was unable to be revived and died at hospital. Police believe he may have been smoking Kronic Black and are conducting an investigation. WA recently became the first State to ban Kronic and similar synthetic-cannabis products. However Kronic Black's New Zealand manufacturer claims the substance contains a reworked chemical compound that does not fall foul of new laws. Mental Health Minister Helen Morton confirmed on ABC's 720 show this morning that two substances found in Kronic Black would be banned from midnight tonight, as well as another 12 others found in synthetic cannabis products. Hospitals in Perth and in New Zealand have been reporting patients presenting with heart palpitations, high blood pressure and sickness after smoking synthetic cannabis, while the Australian Medical Association has warned synthetic drugs could cause severe paranoia, anxiety and panic attacks. The substance is also believed to be linked to the death of a teenager in Christchurch. Police confiscated packets of Kronic Black from a local retailer last week. The retail value of the seized stock is about $8000. Kronic Black Label wholesales at 40 per cent more than the original version of the banned substance but is being sold in Perth for only slightly more than its earlier version at $79.95 for a 3g pack. It was developed on July 15 specifically to comply with Federal and State regulations banning the sale of eight synthetic cannabinoids. A letter of compliance from the product's developer Light Years Ahead Ltd, provided to retailers, was also seized by police. The letter claims that Kronic Black Label does not contain any of the banned substances and is therefore legal. Those found in possession of banned drugs face a maximum 25-year jail term or a $100,000 fine under the legislation. source

mac Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) i take it the media/police did not have access to his medical history yet etc... scare tactics i can make shit up too how about if they did not ban the JWH then this bloke may be still alive, then again he may have just had a heart attack after a burger ciggy & a beer more bullshit just legalization or decriminalize weed already & use the standard swab testing for mine workers to make sure that they have not had a cone for the last 12 hrs or whatever it is the swabs detection period is people die from heart attacks when having a root maybe they should ban that too Edited August 6, 2011 by mac
Mycot Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) Chronic death does seem to be a major problem. Perhaps the police should invest their energies in the medical field. Edited August 6, 2011 by Mycot
Zen Peddler Posted August 11, 2011 Wow how does someone suffer a heart attack and cardiac arrest at the same time? Cardiac arrest is when the heart fails or stops beating, a heart attack occurs when the heart is starved of blood flow from the clogging of the main arteries feeding the heart. So when a stupid media release cant even get the cause of death right youve got to be worried. No one cares that people die from alcohol or NSAID induced heart attacks on a daily basis. How many people have you heard of who die while at the boozer? But if your worried about synthetic cannibinoids then legalise the real fucking thing!!
