Tasmania set to ban synthetic cannabis

Recommended Posts

Tasmania looks set to become the first state to outlaw a synthetic cannabis known as Kronic.

Australian law enforcement and health professionals are concerned about the drug and several states are considering placing restrictions on its sale.

It is being marketed as a legal alternative to cannabis, inducing the same feelings of relaxation and euphoria described by regular users.

But authorities say it is potentially 100 times stronger than marijuana and can produce extreme reactions including severe hallucinations, heart palpitations and psychosis.

It has prompted Tasmanian police to lobby the State Government to make it illegal.

Police believe the Government will add Kronic to the state's list of banned drugs on Monday.

I'm surprised that the analog laws didn't already cover synthetic cannabinoids. I'm no chemist though, so wouldn't be able to look at a chemical and work it out myself.

i know of at least three shops in melbourne that sell it. one EXTREMELY EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. not naming any names but i think they're barking up the wrong tree... so i would suggest getting it online if you intend to.

i wish we could follow new zealand (home of kronic) and just make it for adults...man they're sensible over there.

i read in a less than reputable source that synthetic cannabinoids themselves cause lung tumours in studies (as opposed to the nitrosamines produced by smoking plant material, rather than nicotine or THC). this source was one "hamilton's pharmacopeia" which as i said is often a load of codswallop. that being said i still intend on looking into this matter further before continuing experimentation with synthetics.

does anyone know which one is even IN kronic? banning just the product is a pretty fucking stupid idea. the same company could just change it's name to kronik and then it would be all good again.

To make it illegal, wouldn't they need to change the analogue laws? I mean, it is already illegal for human consumption right, its only because it is marketed as incense and not for consumption.

I do know of one person who had a nasty reaction to one of the brands when he took too much. He spoke of seriously intense heart rate, fighting for consciousness, unable to walk and uncontrollable fidgeting for a short time. I could tell it scared the crap out of him. He is a responsible sort, sounded like he just underestimated the potency and overindulged.

Exactly. Cops, professional athletes, anyone else who is regularly drug tested. If its legal right now, and there's no internal employee policy then ethyre all within their legal rights to smoke this shit.

I get the feeling its going to be made illegal real soon as its suddenly appeared in all our local tobbaconists and the kids are all raving about the stuff so if you appreciate such things I suggest you stock up now while its still possible.

i have tried over 14 different types of kronic , legally brought here in melbourne.

i have to strongly object to unbiased facts of it being 100 times stronger then MJ.. i dont think so lol.

does anyone actually know what herbs are in kronic ?

i find it all fascinating.

to me its like... the government is doing everything possible to wreck peoples lives so they cant have a great time , be relaxed , be yourself.

a world of MJ users is going to be alot more safer and quieter then a world full of booze heads getting into fights and even death or imprisonment.

if MJ was legalised , then no one would even bother with kronic.

pretty much...i doubt kronic would even exist if mj were legal. and though the synthecans would exist, they would remain very obscure except to the most specialised cannabinoid receptor pharmacologists.

kronic isn't 100 times stronger than mj

It means JWH is 100 times stronger than THC
