Saw EG's clone database sticky and was inspired to do some clone research for my own garden, finding this cool thread in the process. BUMP!

Not a named clone but my favourite. Seeds came from PD Psycho0 open pollinated, its still only little but hopefully it will look very impressive one day..

DSCF2384_zps99bad3eb.jpg

and I have managed to start quite a few other pups off it so one day you never know it may be a well known clone.

My favorite t. peruvianoid... not sure if its a named clone, bought it as t. peruvianus

has the thickest growth of my trichs

roots and grows insanely fast (12 - 18" / 6 month summer)

very hearty root system, no root rot or black spots, and can over water all summer no problem

love the blue color

Still deciding on a favorite t. bridge... will have to see how the seedlings do when they grow up

My favourite Tricho is validus because it's bolivian and because of the way it's tips look

and the way its spines and the fluff are gorgeous

-especially when wet

and the flowers are my fave tricho flower too

I dnno why it's the prettiest to my eye, but it is ...to me that is the best representation of the whole cactus family ...

I really adore the fattiness and bulges and creases in the tip growth ,

I love terscheckii for this also but to a far lesser extent

-edit- i did manage to get a validus mutt much much later than this post

post-14443-0-71700100-1455174064_thumb.j

and the hunt is on for the "fields validus" and "valida" and any other validus i can get my hands on

2nd fave is Trichocereus scopulicola (very close 2nd) because they're so sexy looking, were my first ever large cactus....

gallery_14443_734_75572.jpg

I can touch them easy and they're rock hard, and it had me guessing what it might be for the longest of any cactus

so sentimental value of the lessons learned from her/it/them

joint 3rd fave are: juul's giant because of sexy cog-teeth-like tips, chunky short spines in dimples-and the way they're arranged

if I told you any more, you would need to have a cup of tea about it

gallery_14443_734_26626.jpg

sharing joint 3rd are Trichocereus lumberjackus

....

and Trichocereus colossus ,

gallery_14443_767_603725.jpg

mmm just look at those sexy random long spines...

4th fave is this sexy green pachanoi in pre-crest mode{skinniest one} and altman's pachanoi monstruose

here is the pre-crest tip

gallery_14443_767_50767.jpg

and a side shot

gallery_14443_767_726002.jpg

and the altman monstruose

gallery_14443_767_33428.jpg

5th is T' sp andacollo chile - because it reminds me a bit of validus

gallery_14443_767_268744.jpg

I don't think I'd have fallen in love with tricho's quite this much so fast if it weren't for validus and scopulicola

6th is terscheckii valle fertil san huan but I sowed some spineless terscheckii and I think they might just take 4th place by the time they're fattys ...

I got it in Netherlands, yeah I think I'm the only one with it here in aus.

It just started coming out of dormancy (was winter over there) and I'm going to start mass propagating soon!

Now I dont own a Mammillaria bocasana CV Fred , but I love the chubaca from starwars look that it has.

My favorite cactus that I grow is a pachanoi crest because it reminds me of green stomach intestines :)

Here are two of my current favorites. Both are seed grown hybrids.

This is a T. scopulicola X T. puquiensis cross, lovely green colour and ridged ribs, looks like it will be getting pretty fat! It's a fast grower too!

med_gallery_13452_777_192804.jpgmed_gallery_13452_777_454245.jpg

This one I nicknamed Trichocereus sp. 'Adriatic'. It is a Psycho0 X SuperPedro cross, with a lovely set of genetics, beautiful blue colour and rib formation of Psycho0, with spination and fatness of Superpedro. Another fast grower.
