Chiral Posted April 16, 2009 8 Ribbed Pach..will take an over the top shot tomorrow of it...Most of the PC getting around is 6 ribbed and this cutting I obtained from another very nice member here a while ago is the only 8 ribbed one I have ever seen. It is a very nice cactus and grows a very nice dark green blue with that white wash look to its skin. this pic isn't that great but I'll get you another pic tomorrow. H. t st tantra Posted April 16, 2009 got a pach that recently dropped a rib leaving 4,was very happy! however it now seems to be terminating and should pup from one or more ribs. a terminating pach or a 4 ribbed one dont know which i'd prefer........ there is debate over whether the 13 ribbers are pachanoi or another cactii also called san pedro........ t s t . Teotzlcoatl Posted April 17, 2009 There are plenty of Trichocereus with 13 ribs... but this doesn't mean they are pachanoi.
zelly Posted April 17, 2009 (edited) I cant imagine you guys would want to see a T pach with NO ribs. errr well it had ribs, but morphed into no ribs. Started out round, went to 7 ribs, back to lots of odd spaced lumps, now the tip looks like it might try to crest. Seed grown, now around 28 cm tall. Gunter Posted April 17, 2009 I had 5-6 seedlings with 9 ribs out of a batch of about 300 seedlings of the MG seed sold as pachanoi but that looks very peruvianoid. I'll look for photoworthy examples later today.

kakti Posted May 8, 2009 (edited) Here's a bunch of T. Peruvianus with 8 ribs. The first one is a Mesa Gardens sourced T. Pachanoi. The rest all came as seedlings from unknown lineage. Unfortunately I do not have any of these cacti anymore so I can't post new pics :/ Edited May 8, 2009 by kakti

kakti Posted May 12, 2009 How old is the T. Terscheckii ?? Couldn't tell ya, I bought it as a rooted plant just a tad smaller than it is now. They grow quite slow around here (both seedlings and more mature plants) so I'd estimate at least 5-7 years old.
watertrade Posted May 24, 2009 I have a few with 8 ribs. this one with 9 ribs. (with damage from something trying to climb it) and this psycho0 pup which started life out with 10 or 11 ribs (depending on where you measure from) unfortunatley it has dropped a few ribs and looks as if it will fall back into line with 7.
