Plantsoma Posted September 3, 2008 Trichocereus pachanoi. My first attempt at a HDR composite photo. For photography buffs: I used my mobile photo LED torch to highlight around the cacti as i took 15 varying exposure pics 4-20sec exposure. Photoshop is fun! Coschi Posted September 3, 2008 Looking good man! Personally I'd like to see a little more of the cactus, i'd like to see it blackening right as the branches are about to meet I saw your mushroom pic, bullshit man, no way you did that, nah, couldn't have been! Seriously, that stuff looks kick ass
cannaboiler Posted September 3, 2008 I'm an ex shutter bug , weddings & stuff(medium format stuff for a while, in the past) Nice image for my tastes, funny ive allway's been a "Fan" of the female Mary Jane, ive raised her several times(will again), im keen to germinate my williamsii seed's & im ordering 2 more tricho's tomoz for a first step while waiting the wait, But i am definately seeing the beautty in cacti particularly the lophophora family, personally id like to put sand and gravel down all round the house and surround it with mescaline cactus and DMT bearing plants, Even though i rent long term i'm planning some serious tree infestation here( alot of acacia's whian whian/complanatamimos), i so dont like 'Having" to use the lawnmower, those days are numbered
Yawning Man Posted September 3, 2008 Personally I'd like to see a little more of the cactus Agreed, it looks like an amazing and healthy specimen. Otherwise that photo and the effect are totally awesome. cheers

Teotzlcoatl Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) Cannaboiler start ya an introduction thread, we'd all love to here about this, but tell us the whole story in the proper place. Go to the "Chill Space" and start a thread, if you need help PM me or one of the other frequent members. That is a very artistic photo PlantSoma, I'm pretty sure it's not really meant to show the cacti as much as it is to be inspiring. Looks very nice! Could you link me to the pic of the mushroom? I haven't seen it yet! Edited September 4, 2008 by Teotz'
MORG Posted September 4, 2008 So you use CS3? Unfortunately I have no HDR software, I'm very keen to give it a go. A great result there. I love the way they emerge from the dark.

I hope to be showing off some Porn in the near future
Hellonasty Posted September 4, 2008 Ok so I couldn't help myself. Link to my HDR ay Aus Cacti Forum
bit Posted September 5, 2008 Nice pic, but it's not actually HDR (high dynamic range). There's actually bugger all range in that photo. If your camera can take 'raw' images it's easier to just take one pic and expose it differently when you develop it, then merge. Photomatrix is about the best app for HDR. Good photo all the same I like it.
Hellonasty Posted September 7, 2008 Hey bit, I used photomatrix for mine, and I think it worked out pretty well. As you said Plantsomas photos is good i like it. Plus he's a top bloke.
