chilli Posted July 3, 2007 Shiva, I think it makes a big difference when the tats are asymmetrical and have parts breaking out of them, with lines augmenting the contours of the body instead of just being a blob. I think the guys's phoenix (complementing the lines of his intercostal muscles and ribs) and the girl's dragon (accentuating her curves) above are good examples of this. No_One Posted July 3, 2007 I'm talking about designing a tattoo that suits the whole body here Brain, I'm not really interested in filling my body with heaps of little tats like the peops in your photo's, I wanna design a tat that looks good as a whole as opposed to composing a tat of heaps of littler ones that only look good when you are close up. Before I put any of my ideas on paper I wanna know what forms are going to look good in what places, that's what I was asking in my post i.e. if theres anyone that knows any golden rules for what forms fit/look the best in certain places, i'm sure it'll come down to a matter of oppinion but the more thought I put into it the better. Peace

I think you'll find I answered your question, the principles I mentioned can be applied to any kind of tattoo.
ThunderIdeal Posted July 3, 2007 shiva, that's the best picture i've ever seen. you can get UV tattoo ink by the way (glows under UV light?), might cost more and might give away your position when you're hiding from the po-lice.

chilli Posted July 3, 2007 "I'm talking about designing a tattoo that suits the whole body here Brain" I hope you have a shitload of cash, or your bikie mates know when your birthday is. Or, you could pop down to the costume shop: Here are some larger real tattoos: I really like the idea of these:
Benzito Posted July 5, 2007 Just wish i could hold onto some cash long enuff to get the shaman of tassili-n-ajjer put on my arm at long last. Haha, I've been saying the exact same thing to myself for over 2 years now. A member of these forums, who passed away, was also planning on getting the Tassili man as a tatt. We ethnobots are predictable in our individuality aren't we?
other peoples pubes Posted July 5, 2007 Last July, the day after my 30th birthday I gave up weed, which I had smoked very heavily for at least 15 years. After not smoking at all for 3 months, I got the branding shown below. For perspective, the straight lines are 14cm long. It is an ancient alchemy symbol meaning purification by heating, which seemed appropriate as it was the first time my system was clean of THC is many, many years. The branding is a constant reminder of the pain I caused myself & loved ones by abusing this sacrement. BTW it hurt like a bitch

J Smith Posted March 23, 2011 Sorry to bump an old thread but seems better than making a new one for my short question. Nice work PD btw So, there is an artist in North Lyneham who goes by the name "cactus". Does anyone know this person? Looking to get a small amount of work done.
