TBM variants

Recommended Posts

One of my TBM has three pups on it and not one of the three are looking penis like. They aren't showing normal ribs either, rather they have ribbing more like a ?? and are starting to elongate now, sorry the photos aren't too clear. Most here would know when they first start to pup its just like little bubbles breaking out of the skin, These are like little bubbles grown up not penis like, no vertical ribs and no smoothing out. Yes, it is grafted on a pach

Dates wrong, its not my camera but photo's were taken tonight. It definitely isn't normal I have maybe 20-30 plants and in three years of growing TBM's it has never done this. Usually start with an explosion or eruption through the skin aeriole, you just see bubbles of bright green, the bubbles gets a bit bigger, than they stretch out and smooth out and you are left with lines only from the ribs and the eye of your penis. This has elongated somewhat but is still just bubbles sort of looks like the rib structure on a loph...

Nah, this pic. 5 red pots of TBM in foam tray. Far left at back of foam tray with wat looks like a grafted ario in background. Looks like TBM gone back to normal tip growth or flower bud maybe.

i recently stumbled across half a dozen bridgies that all do that semi-monstrose thing all the way, thanks to a fellow member and his sleuthing abilities. very cool plant indeed, i hope to propogate it & hopefully it keeps its semi-monstroseness

naja, i see now lol. ya it is "going normal" but not quite there. a caterpillar had its way with the tip, so who knows what the pups will look like. it wasnt really going normal, more like those common monstrose pedros we see (the ss ones).

that is a real neat pic about showing the transition.

Mine are from kada. Hey mate, are they all of the same variant? This semi-cristation seems interesting.

New pup forming on the column on the right, not shown in this older pic. Taller column is around 60 cm high.

Had to crop out some of the 2nd pic to get it to upload.

I got it as a single column around 20cm tall & grew it in a gh up until 3-4 months ago when I planted it in the earth.

The second column that developed had the exact same growth pattern as the first column, widely spaced areoles with almost non-existent spines. Small single spines developed at the tips only when they were around 40-45 cm.

The new pup that has developed has a much different growth pattern with very distinct spines. I BAP'd the main stem a few months prior to planting in the earth, and that's where it pupped at.
