Tussilage farfara coltsfoot - legal status
Sallubrious replied to gartenzwerg's topic in Legal Matters
One study took juvenile rats and injected pure pyrrolizidine alkaloids into the peritoneal cavity and found it caused cancer. I've seen estimates that a 70kg man would have ingest almost 20 000 Comfrey leaves to get a similar dosage. The dosage makes the poison, sometimes a small amount poison can even be beneficial. I've eaten Comfrey for almost 30 years (after being diagnosed with cancer) and I'm still here. If it wasn't for that shit I wouldn't be able to walk. I've also used Coltsfoot to clear up bronchial issues that the GP couldn't deal with. Scientists base their studies on isolated alkaloids and then journalists take the findings and use their ignorance to twist and distort the findings and extrapolate them to envelope anything similar (there were many newspaper beat ups about herbs causing cancer last century and most were based on misunderstandings and ignorance) If you read through the link below there's lot's of info about people who have real world experience with long term ingestion of the actual herb and problems are basically non existent. I feel locked out of information all the time, the information is still there but search engines have their filters in place to ensure approved information gets noticed first. -
Of course the world's fucken flat, every time I bury my head in the sand I get to see it from underneath.

Maybe it's the MJ-12 group that Kennedy locked horns with before they whacked him ? Trump didn't have much choice as far as Flynn was concerned, if he kept backing him he would have lost all credibility as he would have been seen to be endorsing someone who'd lied about matters of state. It looks like the inner circle still has its grip on the reigns though.

Bill Kristol: White Working Class Should Be Replaced by Immigrants It seemed to work OK in Newcastle. I just heard today the 7th ex BHP worker I used to work with has necked himself. Australian men are mostly redundant as are American men, so why not let the immigrants have the so called jobs. Let the immigrants have Australia & America I say. It's way too late to stop those policies, they're the way of the future. 2 party preferred systems will set that in stone.

The Great Global Warming/Cooling Thread Part 2

It's been nudging 46 degrees here too a few times this year. Official BOM data is saying 43 for nearby areas so I don't know where they keep their thermometers. One of the only things I watch MSM news for is the weather reports & they seem rather quiet on the big picture about what's driving all this weather. When we're in El nino they harp on about that but aren't we supposed to be mid way through the ENSO cycle ? It's the first year I've seen an established Opuntia lose turgor and then get sunburnt because the pads have all drooped and then decide to abort 2/3 of itself to survive. -

Well the black American kid obviously represents Obama and that's reinforced by the fact that you were worried about being PC with him. The matchstick 100% represents your subconscious guilt about being white, I mean if you didn't feel guilty surely you would have gone for the choc chip cookie. The white American who stole the 10 bucks represents Trump and your repressed desire to punch the crap out of him and correct the injustice done in the election where the democrats couldn't buy an election win (with the stolen $10) and reinstall Obama as the leading puppet/muppet. So if you have that dream again just eat the cookie, click your heels three times and when you wake up order will be reinstalled in the universe and the earth will again be the utopia it was meant to be before Biff got the almanac. -
Turnbull has come out this morning and said the refugee deal is still going through even though Trumps doesn't like the idea. I'm just wondering what leverage Turnbull could possibly have to force his hand & why the yanks even considered it in the first place. What did we bring to that deal ? More military bases or hardware here, nukes based here or something else ? A free trade deal would seem to be off the agenda at the moment with the way Trump is & they already have free access to our markets, so what could we possibly offer the yanks to make that trade worthwhile for them ?
-
Now they're saying Trump hung up on Turnbull over a disagreement about the refugee resettlement. Trumps hangs up on Turnbull After the PR machine here telling us how it was all hunky dory between the two and the agreement was still going through. Who would have thought the media or the liberals would lie to us.

We at least they had the foresight not to ban guns. What could possibly go wrong with everyone being armed to the hilt ?

Getting a bit off topic but still relevant. I've posted about this here before. Does anyone remember Peter Beter and his audio letters ? When he spoke/wrote them he was of the firm belief that after the Bolsheviks/industrialists had been kicked out of Russia they took up residence in Europe & the US and installed their puppets in all levels of government especially in the US. He was predicting US aggression against Russia around 40 years ago and he believed there was still the same Russian politics playing out on world stage with the Bolsheviks using installed political puppets to do their bidding from abroad. It's not a great stretch of the imagine to join the dots and see a similar picture to what Beter saw way back then given the information we now have at our disposal. I certainly wouldn't want the Bolsheviks to resume the level of power they once had either, they made Hitler look like an amateur. I believe there have been a few questionable Russian deployments but they are also struggles with their own union, so it's a different type of aggression to US wholesale international scorched earth policies listed in the link above. .

^ there's a few notable omissions from that list Lokstok posted too. The battle of Okinawa in WW2 probably should have made the list. The mass exterminations in Indonesia maybe didn't fit the criteria but could have warranted a footnote because of the sheer size of the atrocity and the numbers of people killed. Then there's been literally thousands of quasi official military incursions into South America for various reasons, control of political figures and securing resources, docks, mines etc. Then there's the perpetual CIA/cocaine wars that no-one ever hears about. Russia has a long sordid history too. Recent history has been very tame compared to the days when the union was forged and earlier. If someone did some digging I'm sure they could paint an equally shameful list of Russian atrocities both against foreign powers and their own countrymen.

That doesn't look the best specimen to start with @sillysyban , I'd be tempted to source a healthier younger plant and plant it out in late winter to early spring. Your location says south WA and from what I've seen when I was there much of Perth and the surrounding area is a big sandy basin, so if you're in or near Perth it will need a fair bit of TLC if you plant it in that type of soil now. Tree's do better when they are transplanted in cooler weather. When you get out of Perth some areas have really heavy clay and others have some really nice soil, so it will depend on where you are. I f it dries out before winter it will die & if stays too wet for too long it could die too. It might surprise you though, if you can find a good spot for it and keep the water up to it, it might get its roots in and kick. & yes I'd cut all that old sickly looking growth off it when I plant it out. Narrow phyllode acuminata can handle a fairly aggressive pruning if it's not done too often.

Sorry to hear about that Stu I'll give you a full refund tomorrow. Just out of curiosity what booze did you did you drink and how much salt did you have ? & were you drinking on the wicked hot night where the temp rose from 8pm to midnight the night before the hangover?

Wasn't it a real tear jerker to watch obama give his sidekick a medal of freedom the other day. It was like watching Batman give Robin a kiss on the cheek or the Lone Ranger give Tonto a reach around while he fucked him up the arse. I was hoping the viewers would all vote to have biden killed off like robin but instead they give him a smiley stamp on the hand. There's a plot twist no-one expected. At least when Forest Gump got his medal he was the star and not the sidekick. obama should get several nominations for oscars this year himself, best actor, best sore loser, best white mans bitch

Tony Abbott's severed ballbag ? No doubt bitten off by an undercover nationalist midget in a sand coloured mankini Lets hope the seeds are sterile. I thought that $2.50 bet would be safe, I've got to start associating with a higher class of midgets.

If I could wake up to that view every morning, I'd ditch 90% of my possessions consider myself lucky to live there. Nice work on the footing & piers that's awesome man! Are you planning on capping the piers with white ant caps/ or insulators etc ? White ants get a taste for hardwood very fast, especially if any moisture is being wicked up anywhere.

Something is having a munch by the looks of that, mites being the prime candidate. It's looks like you've got it in a greenhouse too, that would also favour mites. Jurema can handle full sun from day one, even full mid summer sun. That thing won't handle full sun now as it's not acclimatised but if you can find a spot with similar light intensity outside the greenhouse and put it there for a while chances are the mites/pests will all fuck off.

Ayahuasca grows brain cells
Sallubrious replied to drugo's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Good one Cubism, I agreed with you and then you completely misinterpreted what I'd written and then felt compelled to prove yourself right. I did state that what I was referring to was not neurogenesis and tried to find some middle ground without alienating the OP from his own thread. I'd had well over 30 legal servings of alcohol before I wrote that and now it's like I'm on trial for a semantic "slip of the tongue' so to speak. I stopped coming here because of this holier than thou shit before, it might be time to leave for good this time. & people wonder why this place is dying out.- 16 replies

Ayahuasca grows brain cells
Sallubrious replied to drugo's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Neurogenesis is quite a restrictive term in one sense. As it stands we don't have much proof that it can effect much of a change by the generation of new brain cells (presumably from pluripotent stem cells) but is that the end of the discussion ? For example if I read a book that blows my (tiny) mind and it creates a bridge between my understanding of electronics and physics and in turn reveals a new paradigm that I never could have previously even contemplated, doesn't that increase the neural connections and build new neural networks in my brain that didn't exist prior to reading the book ? It wouldn't be neurogenesis in the pure definition but it is still loosely classed as a form of neural adaptation where more networks are active than were previously. Maybe it won't generate any measurable change in regards to cell count but a positive change has taken place none the less. From what I understand it's hard to downplay the role of the hippocampus as it's like a control centre of sorts and regulates many functions in the brain. A few small changes in the hippocampus could have a dramatic effect on the overall function of the brain. Don't get me wrong Cubism, I like to see evidence before I'll believe in that sort of thing myself, I'm not sold either way. I do think research into the brain is still is in its infancy in some respects though, so even though we believe something is not possible now doesn't mean it will never be proven to be possible. Just look at Wim Hof. He demonstrated that he could exert conscious control over his immune system and other physiological processes that modern science had previously proven to be impossible. Is neurogenesis probable ? Most likely no Is it possible ? Maybe, Who really knows- 16 replies
