woman's aims to be worlds fattest

@Mescalito's post... Everyone dies, I don't think you need to speed your way towards it. Ballzac may be right in that it's the same woman, but then again I'm sure there are plenty of idiots out there ready to kill themselves for their own reasons, be they delusions of health or delusions or conspiracy.
  2. A mental condition can incorporate a state of mind. Anyone can be paranoid at times, and thus at said times express the condition known as paranoia. Mental condition and state of mind are hardly dissimilar by definition. Would you care to explain what more it means to you? Just saying "that meaning isn't right" is hardly constructive input.
  3. It sure does, but I gave its modern definition, not its original. It originally meant madness or insanity.

    Perpetual Motion

It's a different physical phenomena though, adhesion (which I think Roopey meant to say) utilises fricative force and being "stuck" to something, which would be a meshing of the outer molecules with another surface, and cohesive forces keeping the substance together to hold the entirety in one place. Magnets utilise magnetic fields, which will hold them to any other magnetic object, there is no molecular meshing... This is my understanding from basic physics, if you have better explanation I'd like to hear it though. If this Patrick Kelly has the answers to such things though, does he have devices that show it? If it's such a secret why hasn't he been arrested and silenced? Will check out this manual anyway but I am suspicious.
  5. You may say this but paranoia is a word with a definition in the english language, it has little to do with the DSM-IV. Paranoia the word has been in use since 1891, and a derivative since 1811, so I don't think the DSM is a big factor here. Its definition in the english language is "A mental condition characterized by delusions of persecution, unwarranted jealousy, or exaggerated self-importance, typically worked into an organized system." Whether that is included in the DSM is irrelevant to its meaning. I think, as you just said a moment ago, "if you want to be technical you might want to do some fucken research on what technical is"

    Perpetual Motion

That does not mean that it never will stop moving though, our frame of view is so short, we will likely not see any/much change in its pace. IMO it would take eons for there to be any noticeably changes. Halted motion doesn't necessarily mean the end, just change into something else ;)

    Perpetual Motion

How do you know? I would think it will stop eventually. I was going to say that gravity should pull everything back together eventually but I have a feeling that if something is moving fast enough at enough distance away from the source of pull, then the reduction in speed will never overcome the expansion of distance? I can't be bothered going through the equations atm though.

    ISP Data Rentention

I'm glad at least they aren't available to be browsed on a whim. Seriously breaching my comfort zone and personal information but at least there is that much.

In principle support of R18+ rating for video games

Oh sweet forgot about that game! My new laptop can handle it! Must play (my old tower was too slow by a long shot)

    Essential Firefox Add-Ons

I use Ad Block Plus and Ghostery, they're so useful. Will definitely put show IP on the list... I find essentials include Tree style tabs (if you use lots of tabs, makes it much easier to navigate), Download Statusbar, and TinEye reverse image search (Lets you right click an image and search deep web for matches - helps for finding source). Multi-row bookmarks bar is pretty essential for me too. Only other I use atm is Fire.fm, which is a last.fm toolbar, very easy to use and helps find music you like

    Sudoku addiction

I spend most of my spare time gaming, but might give ye olde sudoku a try. I should get back onto chess while I'm at it, logic puzzles can be fun if they're hard enough.

Post your track of the day

Your links are to youtu.be, not to youtube.com, that might be part of the problem for your embedding... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76yfYzVZ_L8 Here this should work for your embeds.

    I wish I had a time machine...

Thanks for the explanation tipz That may be a factor, it might also be that i have a south american girlfriend who swamps me with information about the indiginous cultures of that region and i find that fascinating, where I don't get much info on aboriginal society. It might be that they just don't seem as exotic as others, but I don't think it is, personally, just a quirk of taste.

    I wish I had a time machine...

I don't think so, all indiginous tribes are interesting in their own ways and of all of them I personally find the Australian Aboriginals among some of the least curious. Sure, but my question was to tipz for why, I wanted to know his reasons for choosing them over all others. I'd thought he could speak for himself Meeka.

    I wish I had a time machine...

Well, the beauty of a time machine is that if I'm wrong I can always go back and rectify my errors. That may or may not cause the entirety of the universe to collapse in on itself, but there's really only one way to find out. And I was speaking of our society, not the benefit of the planet. I think that with those centuries of learning under our belts by this time we'd have progressed to the point of renewable energy and hopefully with the reduction of religion and religious fanatacism, a reduction in war as well.

    I wish I had a time machine...

Why aboriginals (I'm assuming Australian aboriginals, as the term is used worldwide) and not another native group tipz, like indiginous tribes of the Amazon (would definitely be interesting). I think I'd try to stop the Catholic church from gaining so much power, prevent them from destroying so much knowledge and the rise of the dark ages. Society of today would be so far further forward if we didn't have 400 years of zero science. Lots of things to do with a time machine really.

Rab I think the girls of that era were a lot less demure than you believe. Besides, that kind of shyness would be reserved for the nobility, preserving the bloodlines and all that. Peasants can fuck around in the muck as much as they like

    One day of peace

I thought this video would just be hippy nonsense but if you have 20 minutes it's definitely worth a watch. Not sure how well spread this is around Australia but it would be nice to see people involved or somesuch. Also, TED Talks are amazing. Discuss either of the two.

    One day of peace

Indeed. I can't wait until the 21st of September, see if the idea can become reality.

getting your wages in cash , not bank

So long as the wages are declared and taxable then I don't see why this can't become a reality. If they weren't then I think the gov would have something to say about it. I think it's a good idea, and I agree I can see bad things happening from it but hey. A venture is adventure. Take it as it comes I guess. Good luck to you!

    London riots/looting

Depends on the size of the band and the quality of the soldiers I guess synchro. Also the willingness of the soldiers to obey whatever orders they're given. There are many cases of armed forces being won over by peaceful protesters, but once violence is inflicted upon them I think you'd be getting less mercy than you're hoping for, so there are many factors I think need to be taken into account. If by soldiers he meant a lone pair, then they'd get torn to shreds by a large band, if it was meant that the entire armed forces would turn out and mobilise then there'd be less chance for the yobbos...
  23. Pretty sure they're one and the same personally. The media has made them out to be separate but it's anon that does most of the DDoS etc. There are some skilled hackers among them and they love perpetuating rumour so that would help...
  24. Well they do like their Guy Fawkes, even if he is idolised and remembered for the wrong things.
