  2. Could be lupus. Count backwards, lovely. (Think of an anesthetist saying this) Came before Lana.
  3. I didn't deny that. I was referring to standard (non Govt.) malware. and it's not so much a case of "might" as "will". Subpoenas, etc
  4. Not entirely, no. As I mentioned above, Apple has a restrictions and checking in place to stop that kind of thing. ACLs, manual checking, automated checking. That's GPS and then plotting co-ordinated on maps. This is a setting that can be disabled in most/all apps. That or you could disable the GPS in the settings. Correct. Nothing is secure.
  5. The iPod Touch's have wifi. It's simple to write something to wait until there's a connection before uploading the data. That said, it's a lot harder to get malware on a (non-jailbroken) iDevice due to the strict policies and checking of the AppStore. Apple's official "Remote lock" stuff is pretty scary though. Android has methods in place to stop that kind of stuff too but so much shit gets through... *Edit: Related: Over 60% of Android malware steals your money via premium SMS, hides in fake forms of popular apps

  7. Interesting stuff. I wonder when there will be a non-malware version of this. I'd love to see what my house supposedly looks like through the eyes of my phone and some science.
  8. Found along side my driveway in SA. Growing like crazy after the ipomea vine was cut back/down (that's coming back too though ) http://imgur.com/a/7Gsp2 - Album
  9. This is why I love this forum. The wealth of information is incredibly. I noticed these growing along my driveway a few weeks ago but didn't really think anything of it. Today, I noticed this thread and the pictures on wikipedia and such and I'm pretty certain this is what it is. I'll get some pictures up later for an ID
  10. Ah-ha! Memory: 1, memory loss: 0. Happy birthday old(er) man May at least 2 and a half of your wishes come true!
  11. I think I missed this one. I'll be grabbing the podcast
  12. Didn't mean to get anyone's back up or anything. Just ideas anyway As for tor. Tor to tor / tor to onion doesn't go through an exit node. It splits and jumps through non-exit relays. But yes, I wouldn't trust an exit node as far as I can throw it
  13. It was alright. I wouldn't say "as good as it gets" though. SSL wasn't forced meaning the traffic could have been sniffed locally. No tor (tor2tor/onion2onion) access (as far as I'm aware) [*]IPs aren't fully obfuscated (nit picking a bit with this one). The ISP is still visible which, while it's not anything solid, is more 'data' to add to a profile someone may be building of a person. [*]Unsure on their [austnet] logging policies Just an idea I'm throwing around still but if I were to do it, my actions would be very transparent (probably not to /everyone/ but a few who can verify my statements for others.)
  14. Can't say I do, no. It's my first cactus flower, ever!
  15. Damn that media limit...
  16. Forgot to post this... The little myrtillocactus started flowering a week or so ago. Here's a photo:
  17. Loads of places getting hacked/pretending to be hacked. Constantly. I blame it largely on the people who run the places but also the fact that it's a very niche/hobby thing still, not many can afford proper security consultants and such. Cons: Unstable Because of the relatively small amount of them and the 'early adopters' getting truck-loads of them for pretty much nothing it's /very/ easy to manipulate the market. Loads of scammers Everywhere. Seriously. Lost coins When they're gone, they're gone forever. If you lose your wallet.dat (without a backup) file or forget the password those coins are gone, forever. It's still very "geeky" in a lot of senses By this I mean it hasn't properly picked up mainstream adoption. There are some great examples to throw around but the amount of places that did/do accept them isn't enough to justify putting loads of 'real' money into it. Just playing devils advocate here though. I'm a big supporter of bitcoin but there are still huge downsides with it. Be careful, be safe and don't feel bad about asking questions.
  18. Yes please! Goes very well with my low-carb diet.
  19. More than likely, yes. I can do everything I can technically to ensure the data is safe but I can't control what people do with it. I should also point out when I say "No logs" I mean on the server side. There's, unfortunately, no way to stop the users logging beyond asking them not to and hoping they're in it for the right reasons.
