Some of the thai adeniums are pumping out the flowers, hoping for some seed pods. And an interesting Astrophytum hybrid with a nice big flower.

Right - the seed code! Didn't want to confuse the customs people, even though all are permitted species. It is: 1 - TPM x N1 2 - Psycho0 x N1 3 - Psycho0 x TPM 4 - TPM x (SS02 x pachanoi) 5 - N1 x TPQC 6 - (SS02 x pachanoi) x TPM 7 - TPQC x TPM 8 - TPC x Juules, SS02, & (SS02 x pachanoi) Hope these work out most groovaliciously for everyone involved - I had some germination issues with them to start with, but they are coming up now (super stoked!). The TPC cross has been the quickest germinator for me, but the (SS02 x pachanoi) x TPM is pretty well 100% germinated and growing strong even though nothing happened for like 4 weeks- curious to know what others find.

EDIT: On a per-user basis, this probably isn't very accurate. The information we require is how frequent cannibalism actually is, under the influence or not. What is most interesting, is that I have not heard of any of the cases mentioned, yet bath salt linked cannibalism is all over the media.

It's a tricky brief. I'm assuming the Au stands for Australian. What is shamanism? There are many different types of people who would identify themselves as shamans, and many more who would align themselves with related belief systems and practices. Some use plants to enter trance states, others use chanting. Some are predominantly medicine men, others may be explorers. How can all these people find common ground? I guess the common thread is that shamanism is about contact with the spirit world in some form or another. So I guess a logo should represent that somehow, but do so in a manner free from cultural bias. That is tricky considering that most spiritual symbolism has arisen from one particular culture or another and will carry with it a subtext something specific to that culture. It is natural to assume that most people interested in shamanism feel a strong connection to the natural world; the Earth and the plants. But there are also many people who consider themselves to be shamanic practitioners of some sort, in this country, who are not afraid to utilise modern technology, whether it be pharmacological or otherwise. Perhaps the logo could somehow convey this fusion of old an new, without being overtly one or the other. In fact, depending on what the ultimate purpose is, it might be better to create an association of NEO-shamans. I feel this term is broader and I think a lot more people would feel comfortable calling themselves this without feeling that it is offensive to 'real' shamans. It is also less loaded in terms of the beliefs and practices that it entails. If this is intended to be the public face of shamanism in Australia, then the way it is viewed by outsiders will be important. While the symbolism should represent things that are meaningful to the shamanic community, it should convey a sense of familiarity to others that puts them at ease. That's all I can think of at the moment. Not sure I'm in the right mind to try to design one myself, I spent a couple of minutes trying to get something started, but kept on coming up with things that looked like an insurance company or building society logo, lol. Do you want the name in the logo? Or just a symbol?

I'm cultivating a polynesian fruit called Cannibal's Tomato (Solanum viride syn. S. uporo) and the plants, grown from seed, are flowering now!. There is a story about this plant: In ancient times in Fiji the fruit (must be cooked) was eaten with human flesh, because without the tomato the human flesh was hard to digest.... http://www.ebooksrea...-the--hci.shtml It is native to Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, the Tuamotus and as far west as Hawaii: http://cookislands.b...ies.asp?id=6661 My small Uporo- plants from cool european autumn outside: to artificial summer inside -flower:

Not sure about inducing pupping, but coconut milk is excellent for root growth and general plant growth due to phytohormones it contains. Cool bit about pupping, will have to try that come spring time.

^^ does look like a plug for Cali rice over other states. Doesnt appear to flag imported (to the US) rice. Arsenic levels can be naturally high in the environment due to geology, or concentrated by the activities of humans through waste generated - landfills/industrial processes. It can found in high concentrations in particularly some groundwater sources worldwide (parts of the US and India). I noted that they also mention the potential for further exposure to it from domestic "potable" water sources. As large areas of US domestic and private supply comes from groundwater I am not that surprised. You are exposed to all sorts of elements daily, ...."its the dose that makes the poison". I'd be more worried about eating fish from some very suspect sources that gets supplied into the Australian market.

Because there are very cheap solar-fan-assemblies out there, I bought one (only 9 €) for the CFL-console:

Yay for adeniums!!! Today fertilized all my cacti with fish emulsion and seasol 10ml each in 9 litres. Excepts for my huernias and stapeliad which I sprayed with this awesome miticide and fungicide combination I picked up at Bunnos, mancozeb is the brand I think. Though I believe the spider mights have been and gone. Split up a large Loph caespitosa for callousing and individual potting. Grafted a few homegrown Loph juveniles onto Bridgesii and pachanoi stock. Checked my other grafts of Loph juveniles (1.5yrs old) onto hulk and pachanoi stocks, have all taken and looks good. Screw pereskiopsis. The root stock of my Loph grafts past have healed over. Hopefully they produce more buttons. Pierced thenloph scions onto the rootstock with large old peris spined after applying pressure. Works a treat

5 seeds in the fridge for a week or so. took em out , poured boiling water on them, no scarring/sanding or snipping used on them. a couple of hours later, 2 of the seeds had a fractured coat and were visibly swollen. these 2 were put in coco medium( in an empty cotton tips box as a growbox) and kept moist on top of a heat mat with an aquarium light source. once they popped up, the coat was removed using a scalpel...with a steady hand.LOL. Actually the seed coat by now was pretty slippery. a few days later i put them in the plastic pots with a thin top layer of searles premium propagation mix (5mm) and filled the remainder of the pot with a native potting mix. i was surprised by the length of the tap root....maybe some fridge action and then hot stirs up some of the stronger little brains in some of the seeds. Dunno? keen to hear other methods. pretty stoked

I agree, i realy like the idea. I just can't get past the idea of Reptyle pushing it. I would like to see this done, but in a responsible manner & you have not proved yourself responsible Reptyle. Making fake bombs & shooting up DMT in parliament house is not the publicity I think most AUShamans want. Yes is heart is in the right place, what about his mind?

Just what the bejusus are you even talking about ? I like your last design. I hope your organization ??? Works out for you. Btw thanks for the parfum at ega it's really nice. Bless. Christo u make many assumptions about your fellow beings.

Hey, you started this thread simply asking for logo designs for an association that you talk about as though it already exists, but at some point it morphed into a request for others to actually create this organisation. It's your idea to begin with, yet you haven't provided a huge amount of insight into what this association should be. You've been pretty vague about it imo, particularly prior to the above-quoted post in which it seems you are all of a sudden having a go at your fellow SABers for not coming up with more ideas about something that you haven't fully explained to begin with. Maybe I misunderstand your post, but if you have an idea, maybe post provide the skeleton and others can help collaborate on the details. If you don't have enough of an idea to do that, then it's still cool to post about it, but don't start complaining that others aren't contributing enough.
