-RC- Posted July 10, 2019 https://hightimes.com/news/hawaii-officially-decriminalizes-small-quantities-cannabis/ The State of Hawaii decriminalized possession of small amounts of cannabis on Tuesday after an attempt by lawmakers to legalize the recreational use of marijuana failed earlier this year. Under the measure, House Bill 1383, possession of up to three grams of cannabis will no longer be subject to punishment with time in jail but would instead carry a fine of up to $130. Currently, possession of any amount of cannabis in Hawaii is punishable with up to 30 days behind bars and a fine of up to $1,000. The new law is scheduled to go into effect on January 11, 2020.

waterboy 2.0 Posted August 10, 2019 Stupid motherfucker is trying to keep his arse in politics by pandering to the religious conservatives.... This is obvious in his recent "antics". We are at war... Except they've got more troops on the field. They've infiltrated politics... Now they can influence legislation. Call me paranoid all ya like
-RC- Posted August 10, 2019 In my estimation: Barnaby < $ Therefore he is irrelevant over the next 5 years, particularly because he just switched up. Anti cannabis = political suicide going forward imo. Wouldn't rule out a switch back though...

Insequent Posted August 24, 2019 https://www.msn.com/en-au/money/company-news/how-rich-lister-barry-lambert-became-a-cannabis-mogul-in-a-bid-to-save-his-granddaughter/ar-AAGeixG?li=AAgfOd8&ocid=mailsignout Whilst I consider the title to be somewhat a juxtaposition, seeing "rich-lister" and "mogul" in the same sentence as "Cannabis", the article still adds momentum to this train. I just can't help imagining the journo's first "ASX listing" as a scene from "The Hunger Games". In no way do I wish to denigrate his motivation, his grand-daughter's condition, nor his family's suffering; these things don't just happen to the under-privileged. Perhaps Mr. Lambert will find enough gratitude in the power of his bank account to add support to the many folk who have pushed this agenda, not because they were personally suffering, but because someone else was. And not because they stand to make a shit-load of coloured paper out of it. Then again, perhaps I'm being too critical. Hell, the more I learn about our society and culture through psychology, sociology, anthropology, politics, global economics and media, and indeed my own experiences in the medical world, the greater the difficulty of not judging from my own pedestal. I did find it interesting that Mr. Lambert's son blames himself for his daughter's Dravet Syndrome because of his alcohol use...

While rival candidates have proposed funding programs to begin repairing the harms of the war on drugs through job training, legal aid, expungement efforts and loans for small marijuana businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, O'Rourke's plan is the first to suggest direct payments to individuals who have been imprisoned on cannabis charges."
-RC- Posted September 22, 2019 https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/6397162/labor-backbencher-very-confident-cannabis-bill-will-pass/ The ACT government on Thursday outlined a number of amendments it intends to make to the bill ahead of next week's debate, including placing a limit of four plants per household. The existing bill included no household limit. Individuals would be allowed to possess a maximum of two cannabis plants, rather than four, under the proposed amendments. Cannabis must be kept out of reach of children, while growing the plants in community gardens would be banned, under other suggested changes. On Friday, Mr Pettersson welcomed the amendments, which he described as "sensible". This shit is happening... fukn finally.
