7baz Posted September 28, 2011 To f#*@ the rooster. Where did the big ball of mass before the big bang come from? it came from nothingness , which is beyond human comprehension that we simply cannot understand. the term nothingness is a singularity with a volume of zero point. vvvv is it ok to suicide because you have reached a time in your life where you have tried everything there is to try and gained all knowledge of your total surroundings and full awareness and your up to the point of such logical thinking...you had enough of this crappy world we live in and know how it all works, time to exit this life and continue the journey into the unknown... or do we see that as.. ugh he is insane ? qualia Posted September 28, 2011 i don't think so. the Mahayana buddhists believe that the greater virtue is to forgo your own enlightenment for help/compassion to the rest of humanity to achieve theirs. i feel the same. even if you do feel bad there's someone who could use a hand. thats not saying "there's always someone worse off", that's bullshit to someone with depression, i know it. it's simply saying that one should forgo ones own troubles to help others. if you feel you've attained all earthly knowledge (i don't believe you would be contemplating suicide if this were the case), then why not spend the rest of your natural life helping others achieve their enlightenment? Roopey Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) she should become a rocket surgeon why can words like 'oh, so you hate me then' or 'oh its because i'm ugly and hopeless etc' be like a magical charm for conjuring all the things you say to be a nice person, but which eventually envelop you in a inextricable spiral, gone too far so it seems hurt feelings will result for not wanting to persevere ? Interesting question. The way I see it, Girl X is in obvious need of energy. Now, since most people are unaware and do not know how to connect and sustain their own energy levels, we are forced to attempt to take our energy from others. The way that we go about doing this is by obviously gaining control of a situation or another person via manipulation (Oh, the games.) Now, according to James Redfield, who put this concept into terms that most people can actually understand, we use what he calls Control Dramas to gain control. The four that he stresses in his book are the two aggressive ones, Intimidator and Interrogator, and the two passive ones, Aloof and Poor Me. Back to Girl X who was quite obviously playing Poor Me due to her need for energy, or positive attention which of course is a transfer of energy as I'm sure most of you have experienced being drained after having to take care of someone who is "emotionally" needy. Now, how Guy X responds to the Control Drama is of course what defines everything. Most of the time, since most people do not sustain their own energy levels, we try not give up energy willingly and we take stance on an opposing Control Drama to defend ourselves. This is not to say Guy X did not immediately respond by giving Girl X energy, just that it was obviously not enough and she still needed more that Guy X was unable to give her. Once that breaking point is reached, Guy X goes on the defense, protecting what little energy he has left to maintain himself. This is where feelings start to get hurt due to Girl X feeling "neglected" due to her inability to get the required energy from Guy X, and Guy X feeling drained due to giving Girl X most of his energy. Doing breathing exercises that induce calm (breathing deep, holding for a few seconds and then slowly releasing) helps to build energy, especially when you visualize yourself breathing in light and increasing it's vibrations. This can help you to continue to give energy to someone when you begin to feel drained. Also, pointing out a control drama to someone when it happens normally makes them stop immediately. For example, if someone is yelling in your face, (Intimidator) if you were to just say, "Why are you yelling at me?" 9 times out of 10, they will stop yelling at you. Obviously some people are stubborn, or in serious need of energy, and those situations need to be tackled with poise. If we were to take "Oh, its because I'm ugly and hopeless, etc." as an example a good response would be, "Baby, why do you always think so poorly of yourself?" most of the time she will stop for a while. Energy should be given willingly and without delay to all that need it. When it is forced out of someone, it always comes begrudgingly and always leaves someone drained. Do your best to begin sustaining your own energy levels by using some breathing exercises and meditation, and always do your best to willingly give your energy to those that need it. This will help greatly with a lot of relationship problems and obviously to make you a more compassionate person, which is something I strive for daily. This obviously doesn't cover everything, and is only a brief summary of what is really going on, but if you are interested in these concepts, The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield is an easy-to-understand book that plants the seeds of some very interesting flowers. Psylo Posted September 30, 2011 The Celestine Prophesy concept is a painful attempt as cashing in on "new age" rhetoric. For the young players, it should be stated that the success of the book's sale should not be an indication of it's worth as a metaphysical manifesto. IMHO it's a bit cheesy. Same too with the workshop follow-up. Ka-Ching Ching for Jimmy at least.
Roopey Posted September 30, 2011 Oh, I agree, it is horribly "cheesy" but it does offer a perspective to those that need it.

paradox Posted October 1, 2011 (edited) Next question..... Is Peter Garret a fucking sellout on his long-held ideals ? i don't think so, certainly an easy target though... he simply has no avenue whatsoever in which to defend himself &/or explain his strategy &/or reason for being where he is because yes he is a tool for the government & has no personal voice... but perhaps a tool on the inside of the federal government can get more done than a rock star not in the government? i like to think he tries to do his best to enact his ideals in whatever tiny way he may be able to in his position, knowing full well he can do more there than where he was before, but with his mouth taped shut for the sake of the party's public image he can't for a second explain himself... if that is the case then i actually think it is quite noble to allow his reputation to be decimated knowing that doing that he may actually be able to follow through a little tiny bit more with his ideals than otherwise... question: what is the seinfrage?
