Philocacti Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) This is an "Ecuadorian pachanoi X Psycho0" grown from seeds which was gifted to me by nitrogen 3 years ago. I grafted it along with another one of its own siblings to pereskiopsis while the rest of the batch was left to grow on their own roots. I fell in love with this one starting this growing season but a couple of months back it started to display this stripped glaucious pattern which I've never seen before. I called it Zebra. turtle_hermit Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) Is it just a striping in the glaucous coating that rubs off or is it part of the skin? edit: just wondering, never seen this. Edited September 30, 2014 by turtle_hermit

Philocacti Posted July 30, 2015 Still not showing the same pattern that made me give it this name. In September it will be clear if it won't display it again, cuz it it only appeared late in the season.
zed240 Posted July 30, 2015 I kind of think it must be environmental. I've noticed the striping on a few different plants of mine. Fields pach seems to do it a lot. Regardless, your zebra is a great looking plant, Philo. This Fields Pach gets lots of shade from early afternoon onward. This Fields pach is in full sun and you can still see it, just not as pronounced.
Philocacti Posted July 30, 2015 zed your pachanoi is a beauty I, too, think it's mainly environmental. Discostu, says that psycho0 displays it too. I believe zelly has a few, which display this pattern as well hey Philo, in my garden theres a herd of zebra's, although some are probably gazelle's............ Halcyon Daze Posted July 30, 2015 Philo your "Ecuadorian pachanoi X Psycho0" looks nasty, real nasty. I bet she's at least an 8 on the nasty-ness scale. (nasty)

Philocacti Posted August 2, 2015 The new growth is all covered with the glaucious layer. I can only see the stripes on the older sections.
Master B Posted August 14, 2015 Both you gentalmen have very beautiful specimens. I get the zebra thing a bit in my semi shaded garden as well. Here is a couple of ozzie pc pups from the bottom of a loph graft... One pup was dichotomous.
